Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge Painted Harvest
August 30, 2018
Thank you so much for joining me today! We have a color challenge for the Create with Connie and Mary Thurdsay Challenge. We are using Gorgeous Grape, Highland Heather, and Granny Apple Green.
This is one of my most favorite color combinations! These purples are so pretty and vibrant and I love green! Here is my card for this challenge.
For this card, I've used some of the old and some of the new! The old is Painted Harvest. This set was in the Holiday catalog a year ago and made it to page 139 of the annual catalog. I'm so glad. It's a favorite of many, including me. I linked the set to my online store here. The new is the Buffalo Check stamp set. It's coming to the new Holiday catalog. If you already have a copy, it's on page 38. I mention this because you could easily miss this set. It's not highlighted very well. I do think it will become a favorite of many.
Start with a card base of Thick Whisper White. I absolutely love this thicker paper for card bases. It comes in Thick Very Vanilla, too! Cut the paper to 5 1/2 x 8 1/2. Score this at 4 1/4 and fold.
Stamp a piece of Whisper White that measures 1 3/4 by 5 1/2 with the Buffalo Check stamp set in Granny Apple Green. I did use the Stamparatus for this. I'm seeing that this stamp needs inking several times. I did find that a little extra push on the plate was helpful.
Wrap a length of the 1/4" Mini Striped Ribbon in Gorgeous Grape around the card.
For the flowers, stamp the larger flower stamp in Highland Heather. The smaller flower is more detailed. Stamp it in Gorgeous Grape. I used Highland Heather for the center of the flower. Fussy cut the flowers. Yes, that's a lot of cutting, but it's so pretty! Have you tried the Stampin' Up! snips? They are wonderful! The flower on the right is on dimensionals.
Stamp the leaves in Granny Apple Green and punch them out with the Leaf Punch. Add them where you like. Use glue dots and dimensionals.
Stamp Hello in Gorgeous Grape. The saying is from Varied Vases.
Add the bow with a glue dot.
Add another flower to the inside of the card and some leaves. The saying is from Varied Vases, too.
There you go. What lovely colors! Thanks so much for stopping by today. Please subscribe to my Tuesday newsletter at the top of the page. If you need a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, please consider me!
