OSAT Blog Hop - Creature Comforts

Welcome to the One Stamp at a Time Blog Hop.  Today we have the theme of Creature Comforts.  The OSAT Blog Hop takes place on the 2nd Thursday of the month.

I knew we needed to have projects with animals, but the word comforts played in there, too.  So I used the Botanical Bliss stamp set and coordinating Botanical Tags Thinlits.  It has birds, and it gives me a sense of peace when I look at them.  Here's my card.

I love that little bird from the Birds & Blooms Thinlits Dies.  I wanted to pair it with the Botanical Tags Thinlits.  I think it worked well.

The card base is Blueberry Bushel cut at 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4.  The Granny Apple Green layer is 3 3/4 x 5.  The Whisper White layer is 3 5/8 x 4 7/8.  Stamp this layer with the Sheet Music background stamp.  I used the Stamparatus to make sure coverage was even and complete.  Stamp in Blueberry Bushel.

You'll need to cut out the bird tag in Blueberry Bushel using the Botanical Tags Thinlits, the little bird in Blueberry Bushel using the Birds & Blooms Thinlits Dies, the leaves stem (4) in Granny Apple Green using the Botanical Tags Thinlits, and the Whisper White label using the Stitched Labels Framelits.

For the long leaf stem, I attached one stem to the other.  I did trim the end so that it would fit in perfectly.

The sentiment is from the Botanical Bliss stamp set in blue.

The sentiment on the inside of the card is from the Stitched All Around stamp set.  It coordinates with the Stitched Labels Framelits.  Add another little bird and the leaf stem.

For my 3D project, I am using the Kraft Pillow Box.  I saw the idea of cutting the box from Connie Babbert.

Using the curve of the box as a guide, cut off enough at one end to cut away the little half circle.  I used another box as a pattern and lightly traced.  Use the Layering Ovals Framelits to cut the holes.  Go back and forth several times to make sure both layers cut well.

Use the Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets to cut out all of the parts except the circle label.

Cut the bird tag from Blueberry Bushel adding a little more length to it.  I cut this to the curvature of the bottom of the box.  I used another box as a pattern and traced it.  Also cut the little bird in blue and a stem in Granny Apple Green.

Adhere the bird tag.  Stamp the circle tag with the sentiment from Botanical Bliss.  Run Blueberry Bushel Grosgrain Ribbon through the holes in the circle and around the box.  Tie in a bow.  Adhere the bird and the stem.

Tie another bow around the top of the box to close it.

I have a video to show making the box.

Let me know if you have any questions.
