Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge #515 Love You to Pieces

Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge.  This week we continue to CASE from the catalog.  We are on page 52 of the catalog this week.

CCMC515

I chose to use 4 of the five 2018-2020 In Colors for my project today.  Have you seen the new 2018-2020 In Color 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper?  This makes for one colorful card!

CCMC #515 by Jo Anne Hewins

I started with a card base of Lovely Lipstick measuring 5 1/2 x 8 1/2.  Fold at 4 1/4.  I choose to cover the entire front of the card.  The Lovely Lipstick dots are cut 4 1/4 x 5 1/2.

As I said before, all of the papers for this card are from the same pack.  Here are the measurements for the rest of the papers.  The Pineapple Punch layer is 3 x 4.  The Call Me Clover layer is 2 1/4 x 3, and the Blueberry Bushel layer is 2 x 4.

The focal point of the card is made using the Love You To Pieces stamp set and coordinating Puzzle Pieces Thinlits.  Since the stamps are solid, I decided to use the Stamparatus.  That way I can stamp again in the same spot if the image isn't complete or dark enough.  These puzzle pieces are stamped perfectly!  Cut with the thinlits and add to the card with dimensionals.

That's it!  See how simple this card is to make!  It's all about the designer series paper!

For the inside, stamp a few of the puzzle piece outlines in Lovely Lipstick and Call Me Clover.  The sentiment is from Love You To Pieces also.

Abstract Impressions Swap Card

This past weekend I attended the NC Demo Quarterly hosted by Christina Walker.  What a fun time!  We even had Tanner Smedley from the home office spend all day Saturday with us!  He gave us some insights into the company and let us ask all kinds of questions!  It's so much fun to spend time with people who love what you love.  This weekend focused mostly on business.  Of course though, we had to have swaps.  This is my shoebox swap.  What is that, you ask.  We simply design a card and put everything needed to make it in a box.  You make enough kits for everyone in the group to make it.  Then we all settle down for an evening of card making.  Sheer bliss!  Well, here is my card.

Abstract Impressions swap card for NC Quarterly by Jo Anne Hewins

Start with a card base of Melon Mambo 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4.  With the most detailed of the large flower stamps, stamp over the card front.  You don't really have to worry much about the part that will be covered the the designer paper.

The paper is the Garden Impressions 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper.  Cut a piece that is 2 x 5 1/2 and adhere to the card front.  I use my Grid Paper to make sure that my placement is straight.

Do you end up with lots of scraps that are 1/2 inch wide?  If you are trimming for the inside of a card or a layer for the front, you probably do.  That's what I used for the birthday banner.  I stamped the Birthday Wishes across a strip.  The stamp is from Varied Vases and is stamped in Melon Mambo.  Adhere just under the patterned paper.  Trim the edges to fit.

Abstract Impressions Shoebox Swap for NC Quarterly close up by Jo Anne Hewins

The focal piece is the largest square from the Stitched Shapes Framelits.  Cut in Whisper White.  From the Abstract Impressions stamp set, stamp both of the stems one on top of the other in Soft Sea Foam.  For these smaller flowers, the larger of the stamps is stamped off.  The smaller, more detailed, stamp is stamped full force.  Run some of the Linen Thread around the bottom three times.  The Linen Thread bow is added with a rolled up glue dot.  Add a third of one of the Pearlized Doilies.  Attach the square with dimensionals.

Abstract Impressions Shoebox Swap inside of card by Jo Anne Hewins

We don't have to complete the inside of the card, but I just don't think a card is finished without it.  I just added more of the flowers from the front and a sentiment.  The words are from Varied Vases.

Abstract Impressions Shoebox Swap by Jo Anne Hewins for the NC Quarterly

Shoebox swaps are supposed to be kind of quick.  This card is, but it still packs a punch, I think.  I wasn't sure about the Abstract Impressions stamp set, but I have used it a lot.  For more cards with this set go here and here.

Swap Cards to Share

Hello to you all.  Today I have some cards to share with you.  I have a small local group that meets once a month and we exchange cards.  Sometimes the cards are originals and most times they are CASED from Pinterest.  Isn't Pinterest a wonderful resource for all of us?  If you see a card that was yours originally, please know that it was loved and copied to share with our Southern Belles.  I have already shared my card with you.  If you would like to check it out go here.

Twila Hartford

This card was made by Twila Hartford.  The card is a CASE from Lyssa Zwolanek.  This uses the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set.  I love her use of the new colors Lovely Lipstick and Call Me Clover.

Martha Morin

This card was made by Martha Morin.  She paired the new Lilypad Lake bundle with High Tide.  They work perfectly together.

Kaye Owenby (2)

Kaye Owenby made this card.  It was a CASE of Stesha Bloodhart.  This card really caught my eye when I saw it on Pinterest, too.  It's just lovely.

Patti Tacy

This card was made by Patti Tacy.  She used the new Painted Glass bundle.  I love that Graceful Glass Designer Vellum paper.  Isn't that butterfly cute!

Cindy Rose

This card was made by Cindy Rose.  She has also used the new In Colors of Lovely Lipstick, Call Me Clover, and Grapefruit Grove.  This is the Abstract Impressions stamp set.  This is a CASE of Christy Fulk.  I really love the Abstract Impressions stamp set!

Tina Lesson

Tina Lesson made this fun fold card.  She used the Nature's Poem Designer Series Paper and the Graceful Garden stamp set.

You can see that we have a very talented group.  It's so much fun to get together with friends who love stamping as much as I do.  I hope you enjoyed seeing these cards.

Enjoy Life on Your Birthday!

The stamp set Enjoy Life is one of the Million Dollar sets by the Million Sales Achiever Connie Fitzgerald.  Isn't it fun that these achievers can help design a stamp set!  Connie says that this stamp set was made with both of her children in mind.  She included some sayings her family lives by.  I like that!

I used this set to make a card for my nephew.  He is a bike rider so it fits him perfectly.

Enjoy Life Birthday Card by Jo Anne Hewins

This card starts with a base of Blueberry Bushel measuring 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4.  The next layer is Sahara Sand and is 4 x 5 1/4.  The last layer is Whisper White and is 3 3/4 x 5.

Stamp the white layer with the Swirly Frames stamp set.  I used the colors Sahara Sand, Smoky Slate, and Blueberry Bushel.  I used the 2 circles and the square.

There is a layer across the card in Sahara Sand that is 1 x 5 1/4.  Stamp it randomly with the Blueberry square.

The bike rider is stamped in Blueberry Bushel.  I used the Stamperatus to stamp this.  The stamperatus allows me to stamp in the same place more than one time.  Sometimes a solid stamp like this needs to be stamped more than once.  Cut out the biker with the Stitched Shapes Framelits.

Enjoy Life Birthday card close up by Jo Anne Hewins

The Happy Birthday is from the Perennial Birthday stamp set.  Stamp in Blueberry and then cut the words apart.

Add some of the Blueberry Bushel Grosgrain Ribbon to the beginning of Happy and the end of Birthday.  Also add to the biker circle.  The biker and the words are added with dimensionals.

Enjoy Life Birthday card inside by Jo Anne Hewins

For the inside, stamp the biker again.  I used the Stamperatus again for this.  The saying is from the Perennial Birthday stamp set. Enjoy Life Sahara Sand Birthday Card by Jo Anne Hewins

This is a pretty quick card to make once you have the design.  I also made it without the blue.  Which do you like best?

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  You know, this card could be easily adapted for a Father's Day card.  Enjoy Life this weekend!  Check out the supplies below!

Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge #514 Abstract Impressions

Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge.  Today we are continuing to CASE the catalog.  We are looking at page 5.  This page shows three different cards with each one getting a little more complex.  I chose to CASE (copy and share everything) the third card.

CCMC514

I love the colors of Coastal Cabana and Granny Apple Green.  I'm so glad Stampin' Up! had a Color Revamp.  Aren't you?

CCMC #514 by Jo Anne Hewins

My card begins with a card base of Coastal Cabana measuring 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4.  Stamp with the background stamp Handwritten in the same color.  I used the Stamperatus to make sure that I had good coverage.

Next you need a banner of Granny Apple Green.  This measures 2 1/2 x 5 1/4.  Stamp this in the same color using another background stamp called Tree Rings.  To notch the bottom, find the middle of the banner and cut straight up where you want it.  Now cut from each corner to the top of the cut you made in the center.  Place this a little askew on the card.

The Whisper White layer is 3 3/4 x 2 3/4.  Place it straight up and down on the card.  Stamp three flowers using the Abstract Impressions stamp set.  Each flower is a three part stamp.  Stamp off the largest stamp and stamp with Coastal Cabana on Whisper White.  The next layer has a little more detail and is stamped in Coastal Cabana.  The last layer is stamped in Bermuda Bay.  If you look at the clear plastic that holds the stamps, you'll see a little >.  Use that to help you stamp these stamps in the right direction.  Frankly, I don't think it matters a lot.  Fussy cut the three flowers and place them on the white layer using dimensionals.

Now stamp the leaves.  There are two stamps for this.  Stamp off the larger stamp in Granny Apple Green and stamp on white.  Now stamp the smaller leaves with the Granny Apple Green.  I got a little carried away and made 7 leaves.  Fussy cut.

CCMC #514 close up of card by Jo Anne Hewins with Abstract Impressions

The Thank You is from the Abstract Impressions stamp set.  Stamp on white and punch this out with the Tailored Tag Punch.  This will go at the bottom of the white rectangle.  First you'll fold over a length of the Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon.  The Thank You will go on with dimensionals.  Add the leaves with dimensionals where you want them.

CCMC # 514 Abstract Impressions card inside by Jo Anne Hewins

The inside is all Abstract Impressions.  This is a great stamp set!
