Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge #513 Animal Outing
June 07, 2018
Welcome to the Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge. For the month of June, we'll be using the new annual catalog to help us. Today's challenge is to use the sample on page 48.
I chose to use the Animal Outing stamp set. Here's my card.
The card base is Call Me Clover, one of the new In Colors. It measures 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and is folded at 4 1/4.
The Whisper White layer is cut at 3 1/4 x 4 1/2. Run it through the Big Shot with the Layered Leaves embossing folder. It's put at a slight angle on the card.
The new 2018-2020 In Color 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper is going to be a favorite of mine. The long rectangle is 1 1/2 x 4. The frame was cut using the largest square from the Stitched Shapes Framelits and a square from the Layering Squares Framelits. I attached the frame at a slight angle using the Foam Adhesives Strips.
To decorate the frame, put a folded over piece of the Call Me Clover Gingham Ribbon. I was thinking later that more of the patterned paper would look good too as little banners.
The giraffe is from the Animal Outing stamp set. We got this set for free at the OnStage event. There is a set of framelits that coordinate, but I don't have them yet. They will arrive next week! For this card I colored the girafft with Blends. I used the Light and Dark Crumb Cake and the Dark Daffodil Delight. I have to fussy cut. Place the giraffe on dimensionals.
The detailed leaf stamp from the Painted Harvest were stamped in Call Me Clover on Granny Apple Green cardstock. Punch out with the leaf punch. I used 5 of them. Add around with glue and dimensionals as needed.
The saying is from Animal Outing. Stamp in Call Me Clover on Whisper White and fussy cut around it.
The sentiment on the inside is from the Detailed with Love stamp set. The leaves are from Painted Harvest. The solid leaf is Granny Apple Green and the detail is Call Me Clover.
The best thing about our catalog is all the ideas inside. Use it to help you come up with your own ideas. It's a great way to boost your creativity! Need a catalog? Let me know.
