A Rhino Thank You with Animal Outing
May 30, 2018
If you went to the OnStage events for Stampin' Up! you got the stamp set Animal Outing for FREE. There are thinlits that go with this set, but they have not been available. I'll be ordering the Animal Friends Thinlits as soon as I can. That's June 1 by the way. This is a great set. Here is the card I made without the thinlits.
I kind of like how this turned out. Simplicity.
The card base is Thick Whisper White cut 4 1/4 x 11 and scored at 5 1/2. Make sure you score for a smooth fold and then use the Bone Folder to burnish.
The Wood Textures 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper was used to cover the front. I used the lightest color. Cut at 4 1/4 x 5 1/2.
Using the Stamperatus, stamp the thank you sentiment. This is called hinge stamping. Align the stamp in the top left corner between the 2 hinges. Ink and stamp. Then move the plate down one hinge. Ink and stamp. Repeat until you get to the bottom of the page. I used Soft Suede ink.
Stamp the rhino in memento black ink on Whisper White. I used the Stamperatus for this too. I wanted to make sure that the black outline was dark enough. Color the rhino with Blends. I used the Ivory for the tusk with a little Light Crumb Cake. The rhino was colored with the Light and Dark Crumb Cake Blends. The little bird was colored with the Light and Dark Pool Party Blends with Light Calypso Coral for the beak. Use the Layering Circle Framelits to cut out the rhino and a Soft Suede coordinating scallop circle. Attach these with dimensionals.
For the inside of the card, stamp the branch in memento in the upper right corner. Color these with the Light and Dark Old Olive and the Dark Crumb Cake Blends. The sentiment is stamped in Soft Suede and is from the Animal Outing stamp set.
It really doesn't take long to make this card. It's a perfect Thank You for anyone young or old.
I think Animal Outing just might be one of those must have bundles. The animals are just so cute.
I made a Facebook Live today and I'm going to add it. I also made an alternative card with leaves.
Which do you like best? Let me know.
