Hanging Garden Swap Card
April 11, 2018
I am so happy that the Hanging Garden stamp set will be in the new annual catalog. I used this set to make another one of my swap cards for OnStage Atlanta. The card started as a CASE of a card done by Mary Fish. I fancied it up a little. Here is my card.
Mary's card was Night of Navy. I used Basic Black with mine so I could use some of the Petal Passion Designer Series Paper.
Start with a card base of Basic Black cut at 5 1/2 x 8 1/2. Fold in half at 4 1/4.
The Whisper White layer measures 3 3/4 x 5. Run it through the Big Shot with the Layered Leaves 3D Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I just laugh every time I write that long name for the folder! Add a strip of the Petal Passion paper that is 1 x 5.
Stamp the hanging basket with Memento Black ink on Whisper White and cut it out using the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies. Cut a coordinating scalloped black oval using the Layering Ovals Framelits Dies. Adhere the two. Color the hanging basket with Stampin' Write Markers. I used Lemon Lime Twist and Berry Burst. They are part of the 2017-2019 In Colors. the basket is Smoky Slate from the Neutrals Collection. Put dimensionals on the back. Adhere some of the Black Metallic Thread to the dimensionals and then attach to the card front.
The Hang in There is from the Hanging Garden stamp set. Stamp in black on a 1/2" strip of Whisper White. Notch the ends and add with dimensionals.
The sequins are from the Tutti Frutti Adhesive Backed Sequins in Lemon Lime Twist. They add the perfect finishing touch!
Here's the inside of the card. I added the saying, the hanging basket, and butterflies all in black from the Hanging Garden stamp set.
Here's a different view. Some of my swaps used the Berry Burst sequins. These cards are prett easy to make. I did the inside with my Stamperatus all at once. That really made things go much quicker!
The Hanging Gardens is a great stamp set. I think Stampin' Up! made a wise decision to keep it!
