Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge #505 Oh, So Electic

Hello to all of you.  Today is the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge.  This week we have a color challenge.

CCMC505We are using Calypso Coral, Peek-a-boo Peach, and Old Olive.  These are lovely colors together.  I hope you like my card.

I've used the Oh, So Eclectic stamp set this week.  I have to share that growing up my dad had an electric company in our basement.  I remember the week that we had electric for one of our spelling words.  For some reason the word was really hard for me to learn.  Now, when I write eclectic I really have to think.  I just don't know why these words are hard for me.  It's just one of those things.

I do love this stamp set, and I'm so happy that it will stick around for at least another year.  Usually oranges are not my thing, but I do think these two oranges good great together.

Start with a card base of Calypso Coral measuring 5 1/2 x 8 1/2.  Fold in the center at 4 1/4.

The Peek-a-boo Peach layer is 3 3/4 x 5.  The Whisper White layer is 3 1/2 x 4 3/4.  Run the white layer through the Big Shot with the Polka Dot Basics embossing folder.

The strip of patterned paper is from the Petal Garden 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper Stack.  It measures 1 x 3 3/4.

Use the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies to cut a Whisper White oval.  The scalloped oval in Calypso Coral uses the Layering Ovals Framelits.  Adhere the two together.  Put dimensionals on the back of the Calypso oval.  Wind several layers of the Gold Metallic Thread around your fingers.  I did spread my fingers out some.  Slip this off your hand and then attach to the dimensionals so that the thread will show from the front.  This can look messy looking and it will be fine.

Aren't these flowers just gorgeous!  For each flower, there is a plain thinlit and a more detailed one in the Eclectic Layers Thinlit Dies.  Cut the Peek-a-boo Peach out with the less detailed piece, the outline.  For the Calypso Coral part use the detailed thinlit and place the outline around it.  You'll cut both pieces at once.  For the smaller flower, cut the outline piece again to get the Old Olive stem.  Trim it along the base of the flower and glue this on.  Cut another set of leaves from Old Olive.  Place these leaves and flowers in a pleasing way and adhere.

The sentiment is from the Oh, So Eclectic stamp set.  Stamp in Calypso Coral and trim around it.  Add with dimensionals.
