Create with Connie and Mary Thurday Challenge #500! Beautiful Day
So Many Shells

Oh, So Eclectic is Oh, So Pretty!

It's time for the Southern Belles to meet again.  I just love getting together.  I stop and think that without Stampin' Up! I wouldn't know any of these ladies.  Except for my sister, I would know her of course!  When we get together we usually swap cards.  They are such talented women.  Here is my card for the swap.

Oh So Eclectic by Luv 2 Create

This is the time of year when I start thinking of using all that beautiful designer series paper that I have bought.  I tend to buy it and then I don't want to cut it.  It will be retiring at the end of May.  My brain says, "Use it!  Use it!"

My card base is Soft Sky.  It measures 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and is folded at 4 1/4.  My next layer is Tranquil Tide cut at 3 3/4 x 5.  Seems like I'm using that size a lot nowadays.   The Naturally Electic Designer Series Paper measures 3 5/8 x 4 7/8.

My first design was to run the Finely Woven Tranquil Tide Ribbon around and to the back of the Tide layer.  But, alas, I glued down the layer before adding the ribbon.  Does that ever happen to you?  I know it does because it happens in class all the time!  Instead I decided to angle the ribbon ends and just lay it on the project.  I tied some Linen Thread around it to pull it in and then added a Linen Thread bow with glue dots.

The Whisper White oval is cut with the largest Stitched Shapes Framelits.  The Tranquil Tide scalloped oval is cut using the Layering Ovals Framelits.

I used the Eclectic Layers Thinlits to cut out the focal point of this card.  They are so fun!  The flower has the detailed part and the outline part.  For the details, use both parts together.  Then cut an additional outline of the flower.  I put a small dot of the Lemon Lime Twist behind the center of the detailed flower and then glued the two together.  Attach with dimensionals.  The leaves are cut from Tranquil Tide for the bigger leaves and Lemon Lime Twist for the small sprig.  Slip them in behind the flower.

Oh So Eclectic close up of flower

The sentiment is from the Oh So Eclectic stamp set.  Stamp in green on white card stock and punch it out with the Classic Label Punch.  I thought it needed a little color it help it stand out.  I punched another piece from Tranquil Tide and cut it in half.  Glue to the back of the white piece sticking out a little on each end.  Add the left with snail and the right with a dimensional.

Oh So Eclectic inside of card

The sentiment on the inside of the card is from the Southern Serenade stamp set.  Add a flower in Soft Sky.  Cut another flower out of thin paper to use as a mask and then stamp the leaves so that they look like they come from behind the flower.

These colors are so great together.  I think I hoarded it because I love it so much!  Nothing makes me happier than cutting out pieces and making beautiful flowers.  I guess if you are not that great at growing them, this might be good enough!  The Oh So Eclectic stamp set and the Eclectic Layers Thinlits make it easy!
