Sale-a-Bration in Review

It's been a great three months of Sale-a-Bration items available to you for free with qualifying purchases.  In just a few days these products will be gone, most of them forever.  Today I want to review some of the cards that I have posted using Sale-a-Bration products.  The first one I want to share uses a lot of these products.

Tutti Frutti Cards & Envelopes Luv 2 Create February class.

This project used the Tutti Frutti Cards & Envelopes.  Some of the stamps used are Lots of Lavender, Epic Celebrations, and Amazing You.  The Bottles and Fizz Designer Series Paper and the Celebrate You Thinlits.  That's a lot of stuff.  To see the post go here.

Here's another card using the Bubbles & Fizz paper.  See it here.

Stampin' Up! introduced some new products half way through Sale-a-Bration.  The Springtime Foils Specialty paper is fantastic.  Here are a few projects using that paper.

Bamboo Party Pandas

This card has been my most popular.  I had over a thousand people like it on Facebook!  I've seen quite a few copies of it too.  It's flattering to have someone copy your work.  See my details here.

Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge #503 Celebrate You

Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge.  This week we have a color challenge using Night of Navy, Crumb Cake, and Tranquil Tide.

CCMC503

These colors scream masculine to me.  I actually think this card could be for anyone though.

CCMC #403 Jo Anne Hewins Celebrate You

I'm using the Celebrate You Thinlits.  This is a Sale-a-Bration item that you can get for free with a $100 purchase.  There's good news.  Stampin' Up! has announced that these thinlits will be available in the new annual catalog in June.  The even better news is that you can get them now for FREE and enjoy them now.

The card base is Tranquil Tide 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded in the middle.  The next layer is Crumb Cake cut 4 x 5 1/4.

Using the True Gentleman Designer Series Paper in the Occasions catalog, cut out 8 of the word YOU.  You will not need one underneath the Celebrate.

You will glue these words to the Crumb Cake layer.  I put my paper on my grid paper and used that and a straight edge to help me get the words straight.  Glue the two words on each end and then the one in the middle.  Glue the top row, move to the bottom row trying to match the spacing at the top to the spacing at the bottom.  Then glue the words on the ends of the middle row.

The celebrate is cut from Tranquil Tide card stock.  It is glued to a 1 1/4 inch strip of Whisper White.  The ends of this are cut using the Lots of Labels Framelits Dies.  To do this place the end of the paper under the end of the die.  Make sure that the other end of the paper is on top of the die so that it isn't cut.  Reverse and do the same at the other end.

CCMC #503 Celebrate You by Jo Anne Hewins

Put dimensionals on the back of this strip.  I used the Gold Metallic Thread behind to add a little more interest to the card.  I wrapped this around my spread out fingers about 7 times.  Slip it off and arrange on the dimensionals.  It still needed a little something.   The stars from the Regals Enamel Shapes seemed to look just right!

CCMC#503 Celebrate You inside

For the inside of the card, I added a strip of the True Gentleman designer paper 1/2 inch wide.  The sentiment is from Picture Perfect Birthday.

CCMC #503 Celebrate You Luv 2 Create
I think this makes a cute little card.  It would be great to use up some of those paper scraps that you might have.  It could also be for any kind of celebration, not just birthday.

I'm learning to do Facebook Live.  I've only made two videos, but the second is about the card I shared today and another card using the same layout.  I'm going to add the video here.  Tell me what you think.

I hope you like my card today.  I do appreciate that you came by my blog.  The supplies needed to make this card are listed below.  Please click on a product to go to my online store!  Remember that Sale-a-Bration will be ending soon.  You can still get the Celebrate You Thinlits for FREE with a $100 purchase for a few more days!

In Colors are Picture Perfect!

My last post featured the 2016-2018 In Colors that will be retiring at the end of May.  These colors are Emerald Envy, Dapper Denim, Flirty Flamingo, Peekaboo Peach, and Sweet Sugarplum.  You can see that post by scrolling on down past this post or you can go here.  Today I'll be using those colors again featuring the Picture Perfect Birthday stamp set.  Did you notice the Whisper White Narrow Note Cards & Envelopes on page 19 of the Occasions catalog?  They might easily be overlooked.  These cards would not go in the mail, but are great enclosures in gifts and on packages.

Picture Perfect Birthday with Narrow Note Cards & Envelopes Jo Anne Hewins

All of these little cards are made using the Picture Perfect Birthday stamp set and the retiring 2016-2018 In Colors.  I'll go over each card with a few details.

Picture Perfect Birthday long candles Luv 2 Create

This card shows really long candles.  It's an illusion.  Stamp 2 of each candle.  I stamped the design of the candle first and stamped off the solid candle before aligning it and stamping.  Cut these out and adhere them behind the circles so that they look like an extention of the candle above.  Everything is attached to the card using dimensionals.  Use the Layering Circles Framelits for the scalloped and plain circle.  Stamp the flames in Crushed Curry and cut out.  Each of these cards also have some of the sprinkle stamps randomly placed on the card.

Picture Perfect Birthday using Narrow Note Cards & Envelopes Jo Anne Hewins

This card is so easy.  Just stamp 5 of the candles.  As before, stamp the design first.  Then add the solid part of the candle stamping off first.  Add the flames.  The Happy Birthday is stamped on a scrap of Whisper White.  Notch the ends and add it with dimensionals.

Picture Perfect Birthday Narrow Cards & Envelopes Jo Anne Hewins

With different parts of the stamp set, it's easy to build one of the noise maker blowers used at birthdays.  The long part of the blower is done just as the candles are done.  Add the rest.  You will have to cut these out with your snips.  Place them on dimensionals around the sentiment in the center of the card.

Picture Perfect Birthday bows Narrow Note Cards & Envelopes Luv 2 Create

This card also just has stamping.  How easy can it get!  Remember that it's pretty easy to match the stamps since they are photopolymer.  I used each of the In Colors to make a bow.  The Happy Birthday is part of the stamp set.

Picture Perfect Birthday Narrow Note Cards and Envelope Jo Anne Hewins

This card completes the set.  Just stamp and you are done!

Picture Perfect Birthday envelopes Jo Anne Hewins

Did you notice the envelopes that are decorated for each card?  Here is the inside.  I used a 2 1/4" circle punch to make the inside flap of the envelopes look so pretty.  The patterned papers I used are Tutti Frutti 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper Stack, Petal Garden 6 x 6 stack, Pick a Pattern, and the Eastern Palace Specialty Designer Series Paper.

Picture Perfect Birthday narrow cards Luv 2 Create

I'm going to list here all of the products by Stampin' Up! that will retire.  Word will get out and these products will begin to disappear.  Usually the reinkers go first!  If you like these colors, don't wait.  Right now you can also get a Sale-a-Bration free item with a qualifying order.  Other items used with these cards will be at the end.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  Sale-a-Bration is almost over.  Don't let this happen to you!

NC Demo Blog Hop: In Colors, Retiring

Welcome to another NC Demo Blog Hop!  I am so happy that you are here.  You might have just come from Toni's blog.  I'm sure she has a great project using the In Colors!

Join us blog

This month we are using the 2016-2018 In Colors that will be retiring at the end of May.  These colors are Dapper Denim, Emerald Envy, Peekaboo Peach, Sweet Sugarplum, and Flirty Flamingo.  We have enjoyed having these colors, but I guess it's time for them to go.  Usually these products disappear before the end of May.  If you want them, I would get them now, especially since you can earn Sale-a-Bration items now, too.  Here is my card using all of these colors.

Beautiful Bouquet using the 2016-2018 In Colors by Jo Anne Hewins

The card base is Thick Whisper White 5 1/2 x 8 1/2.  Score this at 4 1/4 and fold.  Burnish with the Bone Folder.  I wanted to make the base sparkly.  I wanted it to be special.  So, I used the new Shimmery White Embossing Paste.  The brick pattern from the Pattern Party Decorative Masks was perfect.  Put a little of the paste on the Silicone Craft Mat.  Make sure that the mask is positioned on your base the way you want it.  Using a Palette Knife, spread the paste thinly over the mask until it's covered just as you wish.  Let this dry a little.  In the meantime, go wash all of your supplies.  When this paste dries, it's impossible to clean it off.

The crate is made using the Wood Crate Framelits and the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper Stack.  Trim your paper so that you just have the size of the crate.  I did end up having about 1/4" of paper around the sides and bottom.  Turn this under.  With dimensionals, I added another piece of the Wood Textures to the back.  This adds just a little dimension and covers the holes the slates make.  Attach the crate with dimensionals.

Cut two of the large stems from Emerald Envy using the Bouquet Bunch Framelits.  I attached these just under the top of the crate one on each side.  I did put some flowers under the stems so don't attach them all the way up.

Cut the small flower cluster out of Sweet Sugarplum.  I think I cut about 7 of them.  Place these under the stems.  I also put one on the top between the green stems in fill in that space.

The large flower cluster was cut from Flirty Flamingo.  I needed abut 5 of those.

Stamp the orange flowers using Peekaboo Peach on Whisper White.  The centers were stamped in Tangerine Tango.  I made 9 of these.  I know these numbers are high and it sounds like lots of cutting, but the framelits make it easy.  I do suggest using some washi tape to hold the framelits in place.  Add these flowers using dimensionals.

The small little dots were stamped in Dapper Denim.  I used 11 of them.  Add with dimensionals.

Bouquet Bunch flowers in crate using In Colors by Luv 2 Create

Add a bow made with the 5/8" Crinkled Seam Binding in Emerald Envy.  Use a glue dot.  The little tag is made using the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set and a framelit from the Bouquet Bunch dies.

Bouquet Bunch In Color inside

The sentiment is from the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set.  Stamp more flowers!

I will tell you that I go to Beautiful Bouquet and the Bouquet Bunch Framelits Dies when I'm not sure what to do in a color challenge.  Now you know my secret.

I will also tell you that these colors have not been my favorites.  I will be sad to see Emerald Envy and Dapper Denim go, though.

Bouquet Bunch for the NC Demo Blog Hop

My next post on Wednesday will also have projects using these same In Colors.  I hope you'll join me.

I also hope that you'll continue on our hop.  Next up is Tracie.  I know you'll want to see her project.  She has good ones!

Next Blog

After the list of hoppers, I'll have my Product List.   I'm going to list all of the products for Stampin' Up! that use the In Colors that are retiring.  You can purchase them all from me!  Thanks!

Heartfelt Blooms CASE from the Sale-a-Bration Brochure

Sometimes our mojo needs a little help, or maybe a lot of help.  Our catalogs, brochures, and magazines (for demos) are a great source of ideas.  Today's card was CASED (Copy and Share Everything) from the Sale-a-Bration Brochure.  The card that was my inspiration is found on page 5 of the first SAB brochure, and it uses Heartfelt Blooms.

Heartfelt Blooms CASE from brochure by Jo Anne Hewins

Warning!  There is some fussy cutting involved!  Just take your time.  You can do it!

Start with a card base of Pool Party 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded in the middle.  The next layer is Whisper White measuring 3 3/4 x 5.

The next layer is Pool Party again measuring 3 5/8 x 4 7/8.  Using your Big Shot run this through with the Basket Weave Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  This is one of those thick embossing folders.  You'll only need 1 of the plastic plates.  It's so pretty!

The bit of patterned paper is from the Tutti Frutti 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper Stack.  It is cut to 3/4 x 2 1/2.  The Whisper White piece is 1 1/2 x 2 1/2.  Stamp the sentiment in Night of Navy ink.  Notch the end using the Tailored Tag Punch!  Adhere these two pieces to the card front.

You'll need to stamp 2 of the flower stamp in Berry Burst and 2 in Old Olive of the leaves.  Cut out the parts that you need.  I glued most of the pieces to the card.  The daisy in the center is on dimensionals.  Just arrange to please you.

Heartfelt Blooms CASE from SAB brochure

The inside of the card is kind of plain.  I could have cut out more flowers.  I chose not to do so.

Heartfelt Blooms CASE inside

I was crunched for time to come up with a card so CASEing a card was just the right answer for me this time.  Usually we change up a little something to make it your own.  I changed a bit, but the inspiration was just what I needed.
