Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge #504 Bird Banter

Welcome again to the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge #504.  This week we have a sketch for you.

I decided to use some of my favorite designer series paper, the Tutti Frutti 6 x 6.  I also used Bird Banter.  I love that stamp set!  I would love to see it in the new annual catalog.  Well, we'll soon know.  Here's my card for this week.

Start with a card base of Thick Whisper White measuring 4 1/4 x 11.  Score at 5 1/2.  Burnish the fold with your Bone Folder.

All of the designer paper is from the Tutti Frutti stack.  The Night of Navy piece is 2 x 5 1/4.  The Lemon Lime Twist paper measures 2 x 2 5/8.  The Calypso Coral paper is cut at 2 x 2 1/2.  When gluing this, leave the white base showing around the card and between the pieces.

Stamp the toucan on a piece of Whisper White using Memento Black.  The toucan is from the Bird Banter stamp set.  Use your Blends to color in the bird.  The Blends are temporarily not orderable.  I hope you got them.  If not, be patient.  They are coming and you WILL want them.  Sorry about the inconvenience.  I used the light and dark blends from Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight, and Night of Navy.  The Lemon Lime around the eye is a Stampin' Write Marker from the 2016-2018 In Colors.  You could use the Stampin' Write markers for the rest of the bird, too.  Cut out the bird with the Stitched Shapes Framelits.  Stamp the branch on scrap paper and cut it out with your snips.  Glue it on the circle under the bird.  Part of the branch will extend over the circle.  Attach the circle with dimensionals.

The saying for this card is from Bird Banter.  Stamp it on a 3/4 inch strip of whisper white.  Leave plenty of room on each side of the saying.  You will need your Stampin' Trimmer.  Use the scoring blade and score next to the saying on each side.  Then move over from the score line you made 1/4 inch and score again from both sides.  Cut the strip the length you want from the last score lines and notch the ends.  Fold as you see in the picture.  NOTE:  Add dimensionals to the end pieces.  When you adhere to the card make sure that the saying can fold flat so you can put it in an envelope.

Use Bird Banter for the inside of the card.  I did color the bird with my Blends again.  I admit I forgot that the Blends do bleed through.  My suggestion is to stamp the bird on Whisper White and cut it out.  The branch can be stamped on the card since the marker does not bleed through.
