Welcome to the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge. Today we have a sketch for you.
I love sketches. This week I decided to use the Picnic with You bundle located on page 6 of the Occasions Catalog. Here's what I did with it.
Start with a card base of Thick Whisper White measuring 5 1/2 x 8 1/2. Score down the middle of this at 4 1/4. Fold and crease with your bone folder.
The blue herringbone patterned paper is from the Coffee Break Designer Series Paper. Cut it at 4 x 5 1/4.
The green stripe is also from the Coffee Break paper. Cut it at 1 x 3 3/4. Run a piece of 1/8" sheer ribbon in Old Olive across the front and tape behind the herringbone.
The basket is cut with the Picnic Basket Builder Framelits in Soft Suede. There is a framelit piece that fits right inside the lower part of the basket and embosses. I sponged across the front of the basket with Soft Suede ink to make the embossing show up a little better.
The stems are stamped in Pear Pizzazz ink on Whisper White. I stamped and cut 4 of them with the dies. I taped these stems on the back side of the basket so that they would be where I wanted them. I actually placed two of them and taped and then placed the other two and taped. Attach the flower basket with dimensionals.
I used 5 of the larger flowers and 6 of the smaller flowers. All were stamped in Berry Burst. I must say that these flowers were a little tedious to cut out even with the dies. My suggestion with these small pieces is to use washi tape to hold the framelits in place. Some of the flowers are on dimensionals and some are glued onto the card.
Using Old Olive cut out the grass with the framelits. Add this just under the basket. Add a bow with a glue dot to the side of the basket.
The Happy Birthday is from the Bird Banter stamp set. Stamp in Berry Burst, trim, and add just under the grass with dimensionals.
Inside the card the sentiment is from the Hanging Garden stamp set. Do you know why I put it inside a little frame? Stampers know! Yes, I am covering up a mistake! Stamp the stem and flower inside. Cut out a tuff of Old Olive grass using the Picnic Basket Builder Framelits.
Who wouldn't want to get a basket of flowers in the mail? I sure would! Stampin' Up!'s Picnic with You Bundle makes a very pretty basket of flowers.
