Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge #501 Color Challenge
March 15, 2018
Hooray! It's the Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge! This week we have a color challenge. We are using Bermuda Bay, Calypso Coral, and Lemon Lime Twist.
These colors can make for a very bright card and that's what I have for you today.
Now, if you follow me at all, you'll know that I don't go bright very often. I have to say that I do love this card! I decided to use patterned papers with these colors along with the Tailored Tag Punch. It makes a patched work quilt.
The card base is Lemon Lime Twist measuring 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4.
These colors were found in several packs of designer paper. The Bubbles & Fizz Designer Series Paper is a free Sale-a-Bration pick. It's perfect for this challenge. I also used papers from the Tutti Frutti 6 x 6 stack, Delightful Daisy, and the Fresh Florals stack. Simply punch out these colors with the Tailored Tag Punch.
Lay the pieces out over your cardstock and move the colors around until you are happy with the look. Adhere to the base leaving a little of the background showing between the blocks. I would start in the center of the card. Once the front is covered, turn the card over and trim the pieces to fit on the front.
Pair the Amazing You stamp set and the Celebrate You Thinlits to make the sentiment. You'll need Basic Black card stock and the Tuxedo Black ink.
When I finished with the card, I felt it needed something else. I added a flower using the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits. I cut two of them in pieces. I cut the stem area in Lemon Lime Twist and the flower part in Bermuda Bay. Trim and place them together.
Add some of the Multipurpose Liquid Glue in a blob on the Silicone Craft Sheet. Using a sponge add glue to the back of the tiny pieces and then adhere to the front of the card.
Here is the inside of the card. Add more punched designer paper. Start in the center and work out. The sentiment is from Picture Perfect Birthday.
This card could be for any occasion. I made it a birthday card with the words on the inside. That could be easily changed. It was lots of fun to figure out the papers to use for this project. I hope that the Tailored Tag Punch will be in the new catalog coming up. We'll just have to wait to find out.
