Welcome to the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge #499. This week we have a color challenge. We are using Sweet Sugarplum, Pool Party, and Flirty Flamingo.
I went a little fancy today. It didn't start out that way, but some cards just morf out of control. Has that happened to you? I do like the way the card turned out. It's definitely meant for someone fancy.
Start with a card base of Pool Party measuring 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 folded at 4 1/4.
The Flirty Flamingo layer is 3 5/8 x 4 7/8.
The next layer is paper from the Petal Garden 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper Stack. It is 3 1/2 x 4 3/4.
So let's start with the words. They are cut from more of the Petal Garden paper. The CELEBRATE is from the Celebrate You Thinlits Dies. This is a Sale-a-Bration choice with a $100 purchase. The good news is that these dies will be carried over to the new catalog in June. The BIRTHDAY is from the Happy Birthday Thinlits. Simply cut off the HAPPY from the top. The easy way to glue down these words is to use a sponge. Squeeze some of the glue on a Silicone Craft Sheet. Dip the sponge in the glue and dab it on the back of the words. Be careful not to move the words around so they don't get glue on the front of them. Then glue where you want them.
The word YOUR is found in the Happy Birthday, Gorgeous stamp set. It's part of a phrase, but I used only the word needed. Stamp it in Flirty Flamingo and cut around the word.
Aren't the flowers beautiful on this card? I bet you are wondering where they can be found. They are also part of the Petal Garden designer papers. I just cut out the flowers and glued them to the card.
Finally, leaves were punched with the Leaf Punch from Vellum card stock and scattered around the card where I felt they were needed.
For the inside, I used the Happy Birthday, Gorgeous stamp set again. The flowers are stamped in Sweet Sugarplum for the outline. The inside of the flower has been stamped off. The sentiment is stamped in Pool Party.
So this card is a combination of quite a lot of products. I like to put different things together and see how they work together. I guess you can see that I had a little difficulty using the Flirty Flamingo with Sweet Sugarplum and Pool Party. I think a little accent of this color works just fine.
Thanks for looking at my take on this Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge. These are a lot of fun to do!
