It's a Picture Perfect Birthday!

Hi!  So glad you are here today to see my Picture Perfect Birthday card.  This stamp set is in the Occasions catalog.  It is so much fun to use.  Here's my card for today.

With the Picture Perfect Birthday stamp set you can recreate those noise makers that you used in your youth.  Of course they are still around so you might have used them recently.

This card has a base of Dapper Denim measuring 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4.

The Old Olive layer is 3 5/8 x 4 7/8.

The Whisper White layer is 3 1/2 x 4 3/4.  Stamp candles randomly on this layer.  Use Dapper Denim and Old Olive.  Top each with a Daffodil Delight flame.

A Calypso Coral ribbon goes across the card.  This ribbon is part of the ribbon offered as one of the Sale-a-Bration choices.  It has the Calypso Coral along with Basic Gray and Bermuda Bay.  It's very pretty and is called the Shimmer Ribbon Pack.

Use the Layering Circles Framelits to cut a Whisper White circle and a Calypso Coral scalloped circle just a bit bigger.  The sentiment is from the Picture Perfect Birthday stamp set in Dapper Denim.  The coral piece is on dimensionals.

The blowers or noise makers are stamped in three parts.  Start with the straight part.  It's the same piece used for the candles.  Add the fringe part and then the part that is rolled up.  Use Dapper Denim, Calypso Coral, and Old Olive but change the order around.  Fussy cut these.

Myths & Magic Glimmer Paper Goes Birthday

The Myths & Magic 6 x 6 Glimmer Paper is beautiful.  But, sad to say, I'm not much of a glimmer paper kind of girl.  I was challenged to use this paper and I accepted the challenge.

I used the Happy Birthday Thinlits to cut the words.  Do you notice something that looks a little strange?  Yes, it's that last Y.  I told you I'm not much of a glimmer person.  I'll be honest and just tell you that I borrowed this paper from a friend.  Then I cut the birthday and realized that I had just cut off a little of the Y.  I just couldn't waste more of that paper, so I gave the final Y a little hair cut.  As card makers we learn to fix our mistakes whenever possible.

Start will a card base of Bermuda Bay measuring 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded.  The large dots on the background are stamped with the moon/sun stamp from Waterfront.  Stamp these in Bermuda Bay.

The Whisper White cardstock is cut to 3 x 4 1/2.  The patterned paper is from the Bubbles & Fizz Designer Series Paper.  It's a FREE Sale-a-Bration choice with a purchase of $50 before shipping and tax.  It measures 2 7/8 x 4 3/8.

The inside of the card has a sentiment from Picture Perfect Birthday stamped in Bermuda Bay.  The balloon strings are stamped using the Bird Banter stamp set.  Just ink up the strings.  A small part of the balloon shape also stamped, but I was able to cover it up with the balloons.  The Balloon Bouquet Punch was used to punch three balloons from the Bubbles & Fizz Designer Series Paper.

You can whip this card up in no time.  What do you think?

Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop Goes with Color!

Welcome to the Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop.  This month we are learning all about ways to color!  Stampin' Up! has so many options!  My name is Jo Anne Hewins and I am from the USA.  I'm so glad you are here.

Here is my card for the hop.

This card might appear very difficult.  It really isn't although it might take a little time.

Let me very quickly give you give you the stats on paper sizes.  The card base is Garden Green in standard card size.  The next layer is Pear Pizzazz cut at 4 x 5 1/4.  The Garden Green layer measures 3 1/2 x 4 3/4.  The final layer is Watercolor Paper that is 3 3/8 x 4 5/8.

Use the Layered Leaves 3D DynamicTextured Impressions Embossing Folder.  You can spritz your Watercolor Paper with water first if you wish.  To be honest I did not do that.  If you do, allow to dry.

Using the Aqua Painter, paint the leaves on this layer.  Just press the top of the ink pad to get ink in the lid.  I used Garden Green and Pear Pizzazz.  If you really look, you will see that my work is not perfect.  I think this adds to the look.  Maybe that's just what I'm telling myself!  Adhere this layer with Fast Fuse.  This background made me think of the jungle.  That's how the rest of the card came about!

The branch is cut from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits Dies in Early Espresso.

The birds are stamped on Whisper White in Memento Black ink.  I used the light and dark Daffodil Delight, light and dark Smoky Slate,and the light and dark Calypso Coral.  If you haven't used the new Stampin' Up! Blends, you should.  Fussy cut the birds.  Adhere with dimensionals.

The card needed something else so I added some more leaves.  Use the Painted Harvest stamp set and the Leaf Punch.  Stamp in Garden Green on that same color.  I did pinch each leaf to make it have a little texture.  Glue some of the leaves and use dimensionals on some.

The sentiment is from the Soft Sayings Card Kit stamp set.  Stamp in Early Espresso on Whisper White.  Cut the words apart and add to the card using dimensionals.  I did add a few single leaves to some of the words.

The inside of the card also has a saying from Soft Saying Card Kit stamp set.  I added a few more leaves here and there.  Stamp the bird and color with Blends.

Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge #497 Falling Flowers

Welcome to all!  It's the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge.  This week we are using Real Red, Lemon Lime Twist, and Garden Green.

I often start a color challenge by looking at the designer series paper choices available with the colors needed.  That's the direction I headed this time.

I like my card.  It is brighter than my usual.  That's why I love these color challenges.  They make me stretch!

The base of this card is Thick Whisper White.  Cut at 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, score at 4 1/4, and fold.  It's important to score this thicker card stock.  The fold is cleaner that way.

The Garden Green paper witht he hearts is from the Coffee Break Designer Series Paper.  Cut it to 4 x 5 1/4.

The other papers are from the Tutti Frutti 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper Stack.  I absolutely love this paper!  If you are not wild about fruits, just look at the backs of the paper!  Love it!  The Real Red paper measures 3 1/4 x 4 1/2.  The Lemon Lime Twist paper is cut to 3 x 4 1/4.  The red paper is slanted a little.  The others are straight.

I used the Stamperatus to stamp the sentiment.  It's from the Watercolor Words stamp set.  Stamp in Archival Black.  I'm so glad I did use the Stamperatus.  I would have ruined my paper.  I did have to stamp more than one time.

The flower parts are stamped on Watercolor Paper in Archival Black.  Use the color in the lid of the stamp pad and the Aqua Painter.  Use  Real Red, Garden Green, and Lemon Lime Twist ink pads.  To get the darker color I did have to let it dry and add more layers.  Cut using the May Flowers Framelits.  Use snail and dimensionals to adhere.

The sentiment inside is also from Watercolor Words.  Add a sprig from Falling Flowers.

I have fallen in love with this card.  I love Falling Flowers and the simplicity of the designer series paper chosen.  Go back and pull out your Falling Flowers stamp set and the May Flowers Framelits.

Sure Do Love You Bundle Makes a Happy Valentine's

Happy Valentine's Day to all of you!  I have one last card using the Sure Do Love You bundle.  I am a part of Patty Bennett's Luv 2 Stamp group.  She has challenged us to make valentines and send them to each other in the group.  It's been a lot of fun seeing samples of all the cards that have been made.  Here is the card I made for the occasion.

The card base is Real Red 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4.  The next layer is Whisper White measuring 4 x 5 1/4.  Emboss the lower 2/3 of the card with the stem folder from the Petal Pairs Embossing Folders.  This is a narrow folder so you'll have to emboss it, move the folder, and emboss again.

Stamp the three different conversation hearts from Sure Do Love You three times.  Stamp in Real Red.  I put all three of the stamps on one block.  Cut out with the Lots to Love Box Framelits.  Adhere these hearts across the card just where the embossing ends.  I started at the center of the card and worked my way out.  Some hearts are attached with snail and some use dimensionals.

Stamp the banner from Sure Do Love You in Real Red and cut out.  I cut two of the leaf stems from the Petals & More Thinlits Dies.  Use Pear Pizzazz.  Trim a few pieces and add to the back of the banner.  Use dimensionals to adhere.

The bottom of the card seemed to need something.  I cut pieces of leaves and glued them to the card.  Add tiny hearts punched from Real Red using the Cookie Cutter Builder Punch.

The inside of the card uses the Amazing You and the Celebrate You Thinlits Dies.  These are choices from the Sale-a-Bration brochure.  Add a little leaf and heart in the upper corner and another conversation heart in the bottom corner.

This card has been mailed to someone in the Luv 2 Stamp group.  I hope they like it!

Now that Valentine's Day is here, we'll have to work on ways to use the Sure Do Love You bundle in other ways.  This is my challenge to you.  Let me know how you use the bundle!
