A Basket of Flowers from the Picnic with You Bundle

The Picnic with You Bundle called out to me.   I listened and ordered it as soon as I could.  Have you ever gotten something and then wondered why?  That's how I felt if I'm honest.  Well today I love the card I made with this bundle.

Picnic with You bundle by Luv 2 Create

There's lots of details to this card.  So let me get started.

The base of the card is Tranquil Tide cut at 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4.  Use the Garden Trellis Embossing Folder to add interest to the front of the card.

The Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper Stack was used to decorate the front.  Cut a piece of Fresh Fig 2 x 5 1/2 and attach it across the middle of the front.

Using the Picnic Basket Builder Framelits, cut a basket from Early Espresso card stock.  There is a framelit piece that will fit inside the basket.  It will emboss the basket look to the front.  You can use both of these framelits at the same time.  Take a piece of the Tranquil Tide Finely Woven Ribbon and fold it in half.  Tape the ends behind the basket.  Add a layer of the Linen Thread.  The bow was made and added with a rolled up glue dot.

The Whisper White layer measures 3 1/2 x 3 3/4.  Take the basket and determine where it will be.  Add a pencil line across the top.  This will help with the placement of the stems and flowers.  Use Tranquil Tide for the stems and Fresh Fig for the flowers.  Stamp off the Fresh Fig for the small flowers.  Attach the basket.

The white layer is placed on a rectangle of Fresh Fig card stock cut at 3 5/8 x 3 7/8.  Add this to the front of the card.

The saying is from the Perennial Birthday stamp set.  Stamp in Tranquil Tide on Whisper White.  Punch it out with the 1 1/2 inch circle punch.  The Tranquil Tide circle is cut with the Layering Circle Framelits.  Add to the card.

Stamp the butterfuly with Fresh Fig and cut out with the Picnic Basket Builder Framelits.  This is attached to the circles.

Picnic with You inside of card

This saying on the inside is also from the Perennial Birthday stamp set.  I find that I'm using this set quite a bit!  Add more flowers and a butterfly.

We are making this card in my classes coming up.  I do think the ladies will love it.

Thanks for taking a look at my project today.  It's really cute!  I still haven't given the Picnic with You bundle the love it deserves, but I will be playing more with it.

NC Demo Blog Hop: South for the Winter

This is the time in winter when we start thinking about warmer temperatures.  Welcome to the NC Demo Blog Hop!  Here we are wishing we were south for the winter.  Oh, we need those gentle warm breezes and the feeling of nothing to do.  Take me away!

Join us blog

This is also the time in North Carolina when you just don't know what to expect.  It can be freezing one day and in the sixties the next or even warmer.

If you are just now joining us, I'm so glad you are here.  You will see some great ideas!  If you have been hopping along, you probably just visited Tamra.  She has great ideas.  Please continue on the hop.  NC has some very talented people! Last month I read the theme for February so I've had this card ready for a month.  I'm so happy to share it with you.  Here is my card.

Fabulous Flamingo with Waterfront card

The card base is Thick Whisper White measuring 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and scored at 4 1/4.

Make your own background for this card.  I used the new Waterfront stamp set.  The colors used are Soft Suede and Garden Green.  Just stamp randomly on the card.  Remember that you won't need to cover the center of the card.  I love this background.  Talk about the south and warm weather!

Use the largest oval from the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies to cut the Whisper White oval.  I used the Layering Ovals Framelits Dies to cut the Soft Suede oval.  See how well these ovals coordinate.  What can I say?  It's Stampin' Up!  The brown oval is glued to the base.  The white oval is attached with dimensionals.

Fabulous Flamingo is the name of the stamp set used for the rest of the card.  The sentiment is stamped in Flirty Flamingo.  The palm frond is stamped in Garden Green.  Fussy cut this with snips.  I put a glue dot down near the stem.  A dimensional was placed at the other end.

The flamingo was the most difficult part of this card.  I would practice on scrap paper.  It turned out that I did best by stamping the large flamingo stamp in Flirty Flamingo.  It was easier then to stamp the black outline.  I used Tuxedo Black Memento ink.  Last, I added the solid bird part in Blushing Bride.  Mine is not perfect.  I wanted my flamingo to hang off the paper a little, so I cut him out and then glued him to the oval.

Fabulous Flamingo close up

Here's a close up of the front of the card.

Fabulous Flamingo inside

Here's the inside of the card.  It has more palm trees from the Waterfront stamp set.  The sentiment is from the new stamp set Petal Palette.

Fabulous Flamingoand Waterfront

I've had the stamp set Fabulous Flamingos since the summer and never used it.  I'm feeling good that I finally gave it some attention.  I don't know why, but I just love this card.  I think it transfers me to a place far away.  I'm ready to that!

Next up is Tracie.  You will want to go there.  Please visit all of us on the blog hop.  As I said, you'll be glad you did.  Thanks so much for stopping by.

Are You in Love with the Petal Passion Suite?

You probably know how exciting it is to get a brand new Stampin' Up! catalog in your hands.  When I first saw the Occasions catalog, the Petal Passion Suite jumped out at me.  It was the first thing I ordered!  I just love it.  My card for today is for my class in March.

Petal Palette & Petal Passion DSP Luv 2 Create

Don't you just love Lemon Lime Twist with Basic Black?  I do!

The card base is Lemon Lime Twist cut at 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4.  The white Petal Passion Designer Series Paper with black leaves is cut 4 x 5 1/4.  The black with white leaves paper is cut 2 x 5 1/4.

The bird scene is on a white circle with a scalloped Lemon Lime Twist frame.  Use the Layering Circle Framelits for this.

The branch is cut from Early Espresso card stock using the thinlit from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits Dies.

The leaves for the branch are made using the Painted Harvest stamp set and the Leaf Punch.  Stamp Lemon Lime Twist on twist card stock and punch.  Some leaves are attached whole and some leaves were clipped from the stem and added.  Attach some of the leaves with dimensionals.

The bird is stamped in Memento Black on Whisper White card stock.  Color with the light and dark Daffodil Delight Blends.  Cut out with the Petals & More Thinlits Dies.  Add with dimensionals.

Petal Palette up close

The sentiment is stamped on Lemon Lime Twist card stock in Memento Black ink.  Use the Petals & More Thinlits to cut it out.

Petal Palette inside of card

For the inside, stamp the dots and bird from the Petal Palette stamp set.  Color with the Daffodil Blends.  I did not add words this time.  This card will be perfect for many occasions!

Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge #498 Perennial Birthday

Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge.  For this challenge we have a sketch.

CCMC498

Now as I add this sketch picture, I realize that I left out the line across the top.  I guess we'll just have to live with it this way.  I apologize, but I'm leaving it!  Here is my card for today.

CCMC#498 Jo Anne Hewins

The Perennial Birthday stamp set sure lives up to its name.  There are a lot of great sentiments.  It's great with the Perennial Birthday Project Kit, but it's also great on its own.  Here it is paired with some of the Petal Passion Designer Series Paper.

The card base is Rich Razzleberry measuring 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4.  The dots are stamped randomly over the card in Rich Razzleberry.

The banners are from the Petal Passion Designer Series Paper.  They both measure 2 x 4.  Use the Triple Banner Punch to notch the ends of the banners.  Add to the card.  They will stick over the top of the card.  Just turn the card over and trim with your snips.

I wanted the flowers to stand out against the banners, so I added a circle of Watercolor Paper cut out with the Stitched Shapes Framelits.  To soften it a little, use the ink from the lid of the Old Olive ink pad and your Aqua Painter to spread some color for the background.

The flowers and leaves are part of the Perennial Birthday stamp set.  Just use the small stamps to build the flowers and leaves as you wish.  Color these with the light and dark Rich Razzleberry Blends and the light and dark Old Olive Blends.  You do need to fussy cut the flowers.  I felt that a little more was needed and added some razzleberry stems cut from the Flourish Thinlits.  Add the flowers with dimensionals.

CCMC498 Perennial Birthday close up

The sentiment is from the Perennial Birthday set.  Stamp in razzleberry on a 1/2 inch scrap.  Notch the ends and attach with dimensionals.

CCMC498 Perennial Birthday inside

The inside of the card is all from the Perennial Birthday stamp set.  I did stamp the flower on scrap paper, color, and cut out.  I wanted it over the dots.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Do you have a Stampin' Up! demonstrator?  If not, I would love for you to consider me!  Need catalogs?  Just let me know and I'll send them to you.

Truly Tailored You're a Fox

You know that the Truly Tailored stamp set pairs perfectly with the stamp set Foxy Friends.  Of course you would also need the Fox Builder Punch.  They all go together like bread, peanut butter, and jelly.  Here's my card for today.

Truly Tailored & Foxy Friends Luv 2 Create

I've seen cards on Pinterest with this sentiment and the punch art fox.  This is my take on the idea.

The card base is Cajun Craze 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4.  The Night of Navy layer is cut at 3 3/4 x 5.  The next layer is Very Vanilla.  It measures 3 5/8 x 4 7/8.  Run the vanilla layer through the Big Shot with the Hexagon 3D Dynamic Impressions Embossing Folder.  Adhere all of these layers.

Add a piece of the True Gentleman Designer Series Paper across the lower part of the card.  It measures 1 1/2 x 3 5/8.

The sentiment is part of the Truly Tailored stamp set.  Stamp it first in navy on Very Vanilla card stock.  Punch it out with the Tailored Tag Punch.  Stamp again on scrap vanilla with the Cajun Craze ink.  Cut out the fox and adhere on top of the navy fox with a dimensional.

Truly Tailored and Foxy Friends up close

You'll need to punch the parts of the fox with the Fox Builder Punch.  Punch from Cajun Craze for the head, body, and tail.  You'll also need the tip of the tail and part of the face from Very Vanilla.  Put all the pieces together.  Stamp the face and legs with Memento Black.  Use dimensionals to attach the fox.

Truly Tailored and Foxy Friends inside

The inside of the card has Happy Birthday from the Perennial Birthday.  It's stamped in Cajun Craze.  Add a strip of the True Gentleman paper 3/4 x 3 5/8.

Truly Tailored & Foxy Friends for Luv 2 Create

Talk about quick and simple.  You'll be finished with this card in no time.  If you are like me, Foxy Friends and the Fox Builder Punch have just been waiting and waiting for some attention.  Just add Truly Tailored and you'll have a perfect card for any guy around!
