For the Love of Creating Blog Hop: Hanging Garden
February 09, 2018
Welcome to the very first For the Love of Creating Blog Hop! I'm Jo Anne Hewins from North Carolina in the USA. I'm so glad that you have joined us! This time the hop is featuring items from the Occasions or Sale-a-Bration catalogs.
I have chosen to use the Hanging Garden stamp set from the Occasions catalog. I just got this set and couldn't wait to use it. For this hop we are making 2 projects to showcase our stamp set.
These are the cards that I made. Let's take them one by one.
This card begins with a Thick Whisper White standard base. The Crumb Cake layer is 4 x 5 1/4. The Bubbles & Fizz Daffodil hexagon paper is cut at 3 3/4 x 5.
Using the Stamperatus and the sentiment from Hanging Garden, use the hinge stamping method to add this to the right of the paper. Use Crumb Cake ink.
Add the Daffodil stripe paper from the Tutti Frutti 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper. It measures 1 3/4 x 5.
Use the Layering Ovals Framelits to cut a crumb cake scallop oval. I actually cut mine from the Crumb Cake layer used above to save on card stock. Cut a Whisper White oval for the basket. Stamp in Archival Basic Black. I colored this in using the Stampin' Write Markers. The colors used were Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Pear Pizzazz, and Lemon Lime Twist. Add the ovals with dimensionals.
The sentiment is stamped in Archival Black on a 1/2 inch strip of scrap. Use snail on the left and a dimensional on the right. The bow is the Old Olive Sheer 1/8 inch Ribbon.
Here is my second project.
I used the Stamperatus for this card also. I used it because I made about 10 of the cards for a swap. I wanted to stamp the various baskets in Smoky Slate on the slate background. To make this go faster, I arranged a row of baskets across the top. I stamped all 10 of the cards and then arranged the baskets again for the middle area of the card. I did not need a basket in the very middle because it would be covered up. After stamping all of the cards, I arranged the baskets again for the bottom of the card. This made it so much faster to get all 10 backgrounds stamped.
The Whisper White piece in the center measures 2 3/4 x 4. I used the Brushstrokes background stamp. I stamped in Smoky Slate on a diagonal and then stamped again stamping on the other diagonal. This layer is framed by a 2 7/8 x 4 1/8 of Real Red.
The designer series paper in Real Red is from the Tutti Frutti 6 x 6 paper. It measures 1 x 4 3/4.
I inked the top string of the basket in Archival Black and stamped this on the white piece. Use the Layering Circles Framelits for the basket. Stamp the basket in the Archival Black. I colored this in with the Stampin' Write Markers using Crumb Cake, Lemon Lime Twist, Old Olive, Bermuda Bay, Real Red, and Pool Party. Add the circle with dimensionals matching the hanger with the background.
Add a Smoky Slate Gingham bow.
The sentiment is stamped in black on a 1/2 inch scrap. For a litttle interest add a 1/4 inch strip of Real Red card stock. Notch the ends. Add the sentiment with dimensionals.
So there you have it. I'm so glad I got this set. You will love the Hanging Garden stamp set!
Thanks so stopping by. I hope you will continue on the hop to see all of the great projects from around the world!
