Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge. This week we have a sketch.
I decided to use a masculine theme this week. The Waterfront stamp set and the True Gentleman Designer Series Paper fill the bill. Here's my card for the week.
There's no sentiment on the front of this card, so it's perfect for any occasion.
Begin with a card base of Thick Very Vanilla. It measures 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and scored and folded at 4 1/4. It's so wonderful that we now have the thick vanilla cardstock!
The Chocolate Chip herringbone printed paper is cut at 2 1/2 x 5. The Tranquil Tide paper is cut at 2 1/2 x 4.
A panel featuring the Waterfront stamp set was added across the front. There is a Chocolate Chip piece of cardstock measuring 1 3/4 x 4 1/4. A 1 1/2 x 4 1/4 piece of Very Vanilla cardstock was stamped. I chose to make a little mountain island paradise. Colors used are Chocolate Chip, Tranquil Tide, and Crumb Cake. The grassy area and some of the mountains were stamped off.
Linen Thread finishes off the panel. Run it around the panel 3 times. Add a bow with a glue dot. Add the panel with dimensionals.
Here's the inside of the card. I recreated the island scene. The Happy Birthday is from the Perennial Birthday stamp set. Of course, as I said before, this card can be for any occasion. Now just in case you noticed, the inside uses Soft Suede instead of Chocolate Chip. I actually made this first with Early Espresso, then with Soft Suede, and finally realized that it was Chocolate Chip. Has this ever happened to you? Some days are just like that. I hadn't used Chocolate Chip in a long long time. Comment and let me know about your frustrating mess up!
This is a very simple card to make if you use the correct brown the first time! It's a great sketch!
Thanks for stopping by today. The Waterfront stamp set is just so versitile. The True Gentleman Designer Series Paper is a perfect compliment to the Waterfront stamp set.
