Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge #493 Amazing You
January 18, 2018
Hello to you! It's Thursday and we all know that's it's the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge. This week we have a color challenge. We are using Marina Mist, Old Olive, and Calypso Coral.
I'm still basking in the glory of new stuff! The Occasions catalog and the Sale-a-Bration brochure have so many beautiful new items. I don't know if this happens to you, but I just keep ordering. I see a creation on Facebook or Pinterest, and I must make it! Let's see what you think about this card.
Those flowers are from the FREE Sale-a-Bration set called Amazing You. It's available with a purchase of $50.
Begin with a card base of Marina Mist measuring 5 1/2 x 8 1/2. Fold at 4 1/4.
The Whisper White layer is 3 3/4 x 5.
The Calypso Coral patterned paper is from the Sweet Soiree Specialty Designer Series Paper. If you love bling, this paper is for you! I, however, chose a side without the shiny. This paper is cut at 3 5/8 x 4 7/8.
The thin strip of paper is also from the Sweet Soiree pack. This piece does have the shiny part! It's cut at 1/4 x 4 1/2. The leaves for this project are from the same paper. I used the Eclectic Layers Thinlits dies for this. Cut three.
The flowers are stamped on Whisper White card stock with Tuxedo Memento Black ink six times. It takes 2 for each flower. I used the color in the lid of my Marina Mist pad and an Aqua Painter to paint these. Fussy cut 3 of the flowers with all the petals and three with the inner petals. Attach them to each other with a glue dot in the center and Mini Dimensionals around the outer petals. I used more dimensionals to add the flowers to the card.
The sentiment on this card is from Sure Do Love You in the Occasions catalog. Stamp in Calypso Coral ink and then trim around each word. Use dimensionals to attach to the card.
It's funny how the color challenges can just throw you for a loop. At first I look at some and wonder what will I do with this. The colors grow on me. This was the case here. I do like these colors together.
Thanks for stopping by today and don't forget to join us every Thursday for a new challenge.
