Color Fusers Blog Hop for Jauuary 2018
January 01, 2018
Welcome to another Color Fusers Blog Hop. Here is our color palette for January.
You can see that we are using Soft Sky, Marina Mist, Whisper White, and some kind of glimmer paper or foil sheets.
You might have come from Pat's blog. She always has a great project. This is the card that I made for the challenge.
Start with a card base of Marina Mist 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, scored at 4 1/4 and folded. The next layer is the Silver Foil. It measures 3 3/8 x 4 7/8. Before adhering to the card base, cut the word amazing from the inside of the layer. It will be covered up and no one will know. It saves a little of the more expensive Silver Foil. The word amazing is from the Celebrate You Thinlits Dies, part of the Sale-a-Bration offerings. The Soft Sky layer is 3 1/4 x 4 3/4. Finally there is a layer of Watercolor Paper cut at 3 x 4 1/2.
I used painters tape to tape down the watercolor paper on the old backing from a 12 x 12 pack of paper. This gives the white border around the watercolor paper. I used Marina Mist and Soft Sky to color this paper. I took a C clear block and smooched it on the pad and then spritzed it several times. Lay this down on the watercolor paper and move the block around. This spreads the color. Repeat if needed. Use the other color. I do like to start with the lighter color and then go to the darker. Just play with it until you are happy. Put coarse salt on the wet ink and let this dry. The salt removes a little of the color and makes the background more interesting.
After the paper dries wipe away the salt into the trash. Rub the entire surface with the Embossing Buddy. The word You're is from the Cool Treats stamp set. I stamped in Versamark, used Silver Emboss Powder, and then the Heat Tool to melt. Add some stars from the Night in Bethlehem stamp set and repeat the process. The Night in Bethlehem stamp set will be carried over and will still be available.
Glue down the word amazing. I put a little glue on my Silicone Mat and use part of a Stampin' Sponge to add glue to the back of the word. There's not a lot of mess that way.
Use the edge of your scissors to rough up the edges of the Watercolor Paper. Add it with dimensionals.
This card is perfect for any occasion. Thanks for stopping by. You'll want to continue on the hop with Paola. I'm sure you will love her project.
