A Silver Mini Gable Box Valentine Treat
January 31, 2018
Have you seen the Silver Mini Gable Boxes in the Occasions catalog? They are just so cute. You can find them on page 13. You get 12 boxes for $8. That's a great deal.
I used the box to make a cute little treat box. This was a Make & Take at my last Stampin' Bingo event.
I've seen many use one of our beautiful designer papers as a wrap around these boxes. They look so pretty. I decided to try embossing the box. On page 23 of the Occasions catalog, we have the Petal Pair Textured Impressions Embossing Folders. They are only a little more than 2 inches wide. I chose the flowers. Place the box in the folder while it is still flat. Be careful that the side is centered and straight in the folder. I did use the old plate that used to come with the Big Shot. I turned all the flaps back. This seemed to fit a little better. When you are finished the sides will be a little different. One part will be embossed and the other will be debossed. Just choose the side you like best to decorate.
I used the Sure Do Love You Bundle to decorate my box. The large heart, the Just For You sentiment, and a smaller heart were stamped in Fresh Fig. Cut out the hearts with the Lots to Love Box Framelits Dies. These were added to the box with dimensionals. Trim around the words and cut them apart. They were also attached with dimensionals.
The two other hearts were stamped in Pool Party and cut out with the framelits. They were attached to the slanted part of the box.
Tie a bow with the Silver Baker's Twine and attach with a rolled up glue dot. Three Pool Party sequins were added from the Tutti Frutti Adhesive-Backed Sequins from page 29 of the Occasions catalog.
Finish up the box by adding a Fresh Fig Woven Ribbon bow to the handle with glue dots.
So now we need to fill the box. My treat of choice was the Little Debbie Fancy Cakes. Nothing beats Little Debbie!
The cakes are packaged in two packs and that will not fit. I repackaged them one to a bag. I used the Clear Medium Envelopes on page 195 of the annual catalog. These are self sticking. I folded them in half. Add a little of the Sweet Soiree Ready Shreddie from the Occasions catalog page 13 around the treat in the box.
I think these make a lovely Valentine treat.
