Party Pandas & More

Have you seen the Party Pandas stamp set from Sale-a-Bration?  It is so cute.  The best part is that it is free with a $50 purchase during Sale-a-Bration from January 3rd until March 31st.

Party Pandas Clear-Mount Stamp Set

This set is so much fun!  Today I have paired it with more new stuff!  Here is the card.

Party Pandas

Start with a card base of Night of Navy measuring 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, scored at 4 1/4.

The Crushed Curry layer is 3 3/4 x 5.  I've been using these measurements a lot this week.  I really like it.

The True Gentleman Designer Series Paper is cut at 3 5/8 x 4 7/8.  I love this plaid!

The panda is stamped in Memento Black on Very Vanilla card stock.  Fussy cut.  Be very careful when cutting around the string.  Paper piece the balloon by stamping the balloon on another piece of patterned paper.  Cut out the balloon and glue on top of the vanilla one.

The words are taken from a new Sale-a-Bration thinlit dies called Celebrate You.  These are available with a $100 purchase.  It's something new that Stampin' Up! is doing this year.  These thinlits will be in the next annual catalog, too!  The celebrate is cut from Crushed Curry.  Now, to save on paper you can cut this out of the curry layer under the plaid before adhering.  The you is cut from Tranquil Tide card stock.

Party Pandas inside

Here is the inside of the card.  It's all Party Pandas.  The hat is colored with Crushed Curry and Tranquil Tide Stampin' Write Markers.

Party Pandas card

I think this would make a great masculine birthday card, but it wouldn't have to be.  I can see more pandas in my future!

Thanks so much for reading my blog today.

Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop with Petal Passions Designer Series Paper

"Welcome to the monthly Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop. This month's theme is your favorite designer series paper. You are currently visiting Jo Anne Hewins from the USA. I hope you enjoy my cards.

Image may contain: text

As soon as I saw the new Occasions catalog, I fell in love with the Petal Passion Designer Series Paper.

Petal Passions DSP

This paper is just gorgeous!  Of course I am partial to black and white.  This paper is wonderful on its own, but today I want to show you three ways that you can color this paper.  You are limited only by your imagination!

All of these cards have the same lay out and measurements.  The card base is standard 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4.  The next layer is 3 3/4 x 5.  The layer of patterned paper is 3 5/8 x 4 7/8.

Petal Passions DSP alternative

Here are the three cards all using the Petal Passion patterned paper.

Petal Passion with sponging

This first card has been colored using a sponge and Bermuda Bay ink.  The stamp set used here is the Petal Palette set along with the coordinating Petals & More Thinlits Dies.  The sentiment is from the same set.  Don't you just love the font!  The flowers were colored in with the light and dark Bermuda Bay Blends and the light and dark Old Olive Blends.

Petal Passion with markers

The paper for this card has been colored with Stampin' Write Markers.  I used Lemon Lime Twist, Bermuda Bay, and Berry Burst.  It's so easy just to color in the dots.  The stamp set used for this card is Picture Perfect Birthday.  Don't you just love the noise makers.  Fussy cut them.

Petal Passion with Blends

This paper was colored with Blends.  It's so easy to do, but does take a little time.  I used the light and dark Rich Razzleberry, the light and dark Pink Pirouette, and the light Old Olive.  This card also uses the Petal Palette stamp set and the Petals & More Thinlits Dies.  The sentiment is from the Heartfelt Blooms stamp set.

Petal Passion card trio

So you have three different techniques with very different results.  I think this is a paper you will have to have!

I hope the projects you've seen here on my blog today have inspired you & brightened your day. You are currently visiting Jo Anne Hewins. Please see the list below & hop through all of the people on the list to see all our projects. You don't want to miss any!  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge # 489 Waterfront

Today on the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge, we have a color challenge.

We are using Fresh Fig, Soft Sky, and Sahara Sand.  I love these colors together!  For some reason, it made me think of the woods in the winter.  So this is the card that I made.

It just feels so calm and serene.  The trees are from a new set called Waterfront.  This stamp set will be in the new Occasions catalog beginning on January 3rd.  You are going to love it!

Start with a card base of Fresh Fig 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and scored and folded at 4 1/4.

The Sahara Sand layer is 3 1/2 x 4 3/4.  It is attached with dimensionals.

The Soft Sky layer is 3 1/8 x 4 3/8.  It is also attached with dimensionals.

The next layer is Shimmery White card stock.  It measures 3 x 4 1/4.  Make a wash of Soft Sky on this layer.  I used a few drops of Soft Sky reinker in the lid of the pad.  Add a couple drops from your Aqua Painter and mix.  I left a little white around some of the edges.  Let this dry.

Stamp the trees from Waterfront.  Some are stamped in Sahara Sand.  The Fresh Fig trees are stamped off on scrap paper before stamping on the project.

The word friend is also from the Waterfront stamp set.  Stamp it in Fresh Fig.

Stamp some stars on your project in Soft Sky.  This is from the Night in Bethlehem stamp set.  This set is being carried over so it will be available for a while.

Add droplets of Wink of Stella over the layer.  Hold out a finger and tap the Wink of Stella against it to randomly add the spots.

CCMC#489 Waterfront inside

Here is the inside of the card.  More trees are added and stars just as on the front.  The sentiment is from the Waterfront set.

CCMC #489

This card is quick and easy.  I think it's very pretty.

Thanks for reading my blog today.  I do appreciate it!  Come back!

Heartfelt Blooms: A Sale-a-Bration Sneak Peek

The excitement is building as we anticipate the new Occasions catalog and the Sale-a-Bration brochure.  You thought I was going to say Christmas, didn't you!  Well, yes, I admit that Christmas is much more important!  But you do have to admit that new catalog time is exciting too!  I think I might sound a little obsessed!  OK, I admit it!

I've been playing with some of the new stuff!  Here is my card for today.

Heartfelt Blooms & Petal Passion DSP

Just look at that image.  There is so much detail and depth to it!  This is Heartfelt Blooms from the Sale-a-Bration brochure.  It can be yours for FREE with a $50 purchase after January 3rd.

Start with a card base of Thick Whisper White measuring 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and scored at 4 1/4.

The beautiful black and white patterned paper is from the Petal Passion Designer Series Paper from the Occasions catalog.  Just wait until you see this paper!  It is beyond words!  Of course I do have a thing for black and white.  Cut the stripe paper at 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 to cover the entire front of the card.

The next layer is the dotted paper from the same pack.  It is cut at 3 5/8 x 4 1/2.

The Whisper White layer measures 3 x 4 1/4.  Stamp the image from Heartfelt Blooms to the right of the paper in Peekaboo Peach ink.  This leaves room for a ribbon of the Peekaboo Peach Crinkled Seam Binding.  Tie in a knot.

The Thank You, stamped in Memento Black, is from Heartfelt Blooms also.

I finished with some Peekaboo Peach Enamel Dots.  These are retired, but they just looked great on the card.

Heartfelt Blooms inside

This is the inside of the card.  I stamped the image again.  The sentiment here is from the stamp set Petal Palette in the Occasions catalog.

Heartfelt Blooms

So there you have it.  It couldn't be easier!  I'm thinking this image will look fantastic in black.  I'll be playing with that!

Thanks for stopping by my blog today.  It means so much to me that I was included in your day.  I hope you are getting excited about the new catalogs!

Waterfront Sneak Peek

When I first saw the new Occasions Catalog that soon goes live on January 3rd, I was immediately drawn to the Waterfront stamp set.  When I got my preorder, it's the first set that I inked!  I love it!  Here is the birthday card I made for my brother-in-law Sammy.

Waterfront birthday

This card has several other new items that will be available soon.  Read on!

The card base is Night of Navy measuring 5 1/2 x 8 1/2.  Score and fold at 4 1/4.

The Very Vanilla layer is 4 x 5 1/4.

The new patterned paper is from the True Gentleman Designer Series Paper.  It is cut at 2 1/4 x 5 1/4.

The focal point is stamped on Very Vanilla card stock.  I used Tranquil Tide for the mountains.  The mountains are stamped two times.  I did make a mask before stamping the second time.  Just stamp the mountain range near the top of a sticky note.  Trim around the mountain and stick it on top of the mountain already stamped on the project.  The Night of Navy water is stamped off before stamping on the project.  The sun is Crushed Curry.  Put the mask on the mountain before stamping the sun.  The trees are Old Olive with a little Garden Green.  The entire surface of the scene is covered in Wink of Stella.  It's probably hard to see in the pictures.

Cut with the Layering Ovals Framelits.  Cut a larger Night of Navy oval  while you are at it for mounting the scene.

The words are cut from Night of Navy card stock.  They are new, too.  These are the Celebrate You Thinlits Dies.  You can get them for free as a Sale-a-Bration item.  This year Stampin' Up! has a few nicer items available with a $100 purchase.  These framelits are part of that.  SU has also told us that these framelits will be available in the next annual catalog, too.  You are going to want these.  Of course there are lots of items available with a $50 purchase!

Waterfront inside

Here is the inside of the card.  The sentiment is from another new stamp set called Picture Perfect Birthday.  Stamp the scene again.  Cut out with the Layering Ovals.

Waterfront birthday card

It's so exciting to have new stuff!  There's plenty of great stuff in the new catalogs coming.  First, the new Occasions catalog and the Sale-a-Bration brochure.  Both begin on January 3rd.  I can't wait!
