NC Demo Blog Hop: What's New?

Welcome to the NC Demo Blog Hop for December.  It's a great way to end the year!  It's a great way to begin the year, too, if you are seeing this in 2018!  We are exploring "What's New!"  this time.  There is plenty that's new with the Sale-a-Bration brochure and the Occasions catalog going live on January 3rd.  Life is so good!

You are sure to see lots of great ideas for new product on this hop.  I'm so glad you are here.  So, here is my card.

Party Pandas Birthday card

There is so much new stuff on this card.  Let me get right to the details.

Start with a card base of Bermuda Bay cut at 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, scored and folded at 4 1/4.

The layer of Lemon Lime Twist is 3 3/4 x 5.

The next layer is 3 5/8 x 4 7/8.  This paper comes from the Bubbles & Fizz Designer Series Paper from the Sale-a-Bration brochure.  During Sale-a-Bration you can choose a free item from the brochure for every $50 you spend.

I began with a frame cut from the Layering Square Framelits.  This paper is from the Tutti Frutti 6 x 6 Paper Stack.  It's in the Occasions catalog.  Adhere to the card with Foam Adhesive Strips.

The panda is from the Sale-a-Bration set Party Pandas.  It's fantastic!  I will tell you that I was one of the fortunate L2L Team members that got to order the Stamperatus early.  I used it to stamp the panda with Tuxedo Black Memento ink.  It's often hard to get a good stamped image with solid areas on stamps.  I did stamp this several times so it is perfect.  Fussy cut the panda.  I colored in the dots on the birthday hat with my Bermuda Bay Stampin' Write Marker (Brights).  I wanted the panda the same height at the frame, so he is also on Foam Adhesive Strips.

Do you see the birthday blowers?  Right now I just can't think of what they are called.  These are from an new Occasions set called Picture Perfect Birthday.  You have 3 stamps to get this.  You will have to fussy cut.  They are just so cute!  These are also on the foam strips.  I used Melon Mambo, Bermuda Bay, and Lemon Lime Twist.

The celebrate is from a Sale-a-Bration stamp set called Amazing You.  It's stamped in Melon Mambo and trimmed close.

The work YOU is from a new thinlit Sale-a-Bration die.  It's called the Celebrate You Thinlits Dies.  Yes, I said Sale-a-Bration.  This year you can get a couple of items that are a little more complex by spending $100.  This thinlit set is one of them.  It's also going to be in the Annual catalog in June!

So you see, this card is filled to overflowing with new stuff!

Party Pandas birthday inside

Here is the inside of the card.  There is another adorable panda.  The sentiment is from the Picture Perfect Birthday stamp set.

Party Panda Birthday 2

This card was so much fun to make.  There are a lot of steps, but it's so worth it.  I think anyone would love this birthday card.

Thanks so much for giving me part of your day.  You don't want to miss any of the great ideas from our hop!  Please continue!  Our list is below.

Heartfelt Blooms CASE

Today I have a card using the Sale-a-Bration stamp set Heartfelt Blooms.  This is a CASE card, Copy and Share Everything.  I cased this from page 29 of Stampin' Success Magazine.  This is a publication sent to demonstrators.  Of course I made a few changes.  Here is my card.

Heartfeft Blooms CASE

Start with a base of Thick Whisper White card stock measuring 4 1/4 x 11.  Score at 5 1/2 and fold.  We will be making this card in my January classes.  I'll tell you how I made the card and then I'll tell you how we will make the card in class.  Do you ever decide after the fact that there is a better way?

Stamp the image in Archival Basic Black ink and allow to dry.  Using a Blender Pen and the ink in the lid of the pad, color the flowers with Powder Pink, the center of the flower with So Saffron, and the leaves with Pear Pizzazz.  This is a little time consuming.

For class, we will stamp the image in Tuxedo Black Memento ink.  We'll color with Blends.  We will use the Light Pink Pirouette for the flowers, Light Daffodil Delight for the flower center, and Light Old Olive for the leaves.  I know this will go much quicker and maybe even look better!

The patterned paper is from the Petal Passion Designer Series Paper.  It measures 2 1/4 x 4 1/4.  Glue to the bottom of the card front.

The ribbon is the 1/4 inch White Organza Ribbon from the Occasions catalog.  Just run it around the card and tie in a bow on front.

The sentiment is stamped on a 1 x 2 3/4 inch piece of Powder Pink and notched with the Triple Banner Punch.

For class, we'll use Pink Pirouette instead of Powder Pink.

Hearfelt Blooms CASE card

This is an easy card and uses only one stamp set, the Heartfelt Blooms Sale-a-Bration set.  I featured another card with this set here.  Check it out.  You'll find that this is a great stamp set!

The Occasions catalog and the Sale-a-Bration brochure both go live on January 3rd.  It truly is the best time of year for Stampin' Up!  Do you need catalogs?  If you don't already have a demonstrator, I would be happy to send them to you.  Just let me know!

Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge # 490 Bird Banter

Hello again and welcome to this week's Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge.  This week we have a sketch.

CCMC490

This sketch was a challenge for me, but I think it turned out great!  Here's my card.

CCMC490 Jo Anne

This card features a brand new stamp set from the Occasions catalog called Bird Banter.  Isn't it delightful!

Start with a card base of Basic Gray measuring 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, scored and folded at 4 1/4.  Emboss the front panel of the card with the Polka Dot Basics Embossing Folder.

The patterned paper can be yours for free!  It's from the Bubbles & Fizz Designer Series Paper in the Sale-a-Bration brochure.  I just cut off a corner of the paper.  The side measurements are 2 3/4 x 4 3/4.

The branch was stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento ink on Whisper White.  The leaves were colored with the Dark Old Olive Blend.  Fussy cut the branch and leaves.

The birds were stamped on Whisper White in Memento black ink.  Color them with Blends also.  I used Light and Dark Daffodil Delight, Light and Dark Calypso Coral, Light and Dark Pool Party, Light and Dark Smoky Slate, and Light Bermuda Bay.  Cut out the birds using the Layering Circles Framelit Dies.  After I cut mine, I thought that it might have been a little faster with circle punches.  You can decide which you think is easier.

The balloon is also stamped in Memento black ink on white card stock.  Use the Light and Dark Calypso Coral Blends to color it.  You'll need to fussy cut out the balloon too.

I played around with the placement before gluing.  You'll want to make sure that the balloon is in just the right place.  Glue on the branch after the birds.

The sentiment is from the same stamp set.  Stamp in Memento black on a scrap of Pool Party.  Trim around it.

CCMC490 Bird Banter inside

Here's the inside of the card.  It's all from Bird Banter!

CCMC 490 Bird Banter

After completing the card, I will admit that I loved this challenge.  Bird Banter was not in my first preorder, but I kept coming back to it in the catalog.  I think it will be one of my favorites!

The Occasions catalog and the Sale-a-Bration brochure go live January 3rd.  If you don't have a demonstrator and you don't have these catalogs, let me know.  I'll be happy to send them to you.  You just don't want to miss them.  I've been featuring new items since December 18th.  You just might want to scroll back and see them!

Thanks for including me in part of your day!  I do appreciate it!

Happy Wishes: A Sale-a-Bration Set

I'm so excited that we are close to Sale-a-Bration!  Don't you just love the word FREE!  It's one of those great 4 letter words!  Today I want to show a stamp set called Happy Wishes.

This set is so nice.  Stampin' Up! is offering several super nice items that are available with a $100 purchase.  This is one of them.  Look at all the nice sentiments!  Here is the card I made.

Happy Wishes

I was one of the L2L members who worked on the Stamperatus so I was able to preorder it.  You are going to love it!  I used it to print the happy.  Sometimes it's hard to get a good image with solid stamps.  With the Stamperatus, you can press again with the stamp or even ink the stamp again and press.  Your finished image is perfect!

Start with a card base of Elegant Eggplant cut at 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and scored and folded at 4 1/4.

The Wisteria Wonder layer is 3 3/4 x 5.  The Whisper White layer is 3 5/8 x 4 7/8.

The happy and birthday are from the Happy Wishes stamp set and stamped in Elegant Eggplant.  The specks are from the Waterfront stamp set (Occasions catalog) and is stamped in Wisteria Wonder.

The flowers are added from the Petals & More Thinlits Dies.  Cut out with the Wisteria and with Old Olive.  I just felt like the flowers needed leaves in green.  I snipped off the leaves and added green leaves.  Yes, that was time consuming, but I felt that it was worth it!  These dies coordinate with the Petal Palette Suite in the Occasions catalog.

Happy Wishes inside

I wanted you to see the inside of the card because I used the best from the Happy Wishes stamp set.  This is one really pretty stamp set!

Happy Wishes Sale-a-Bration

Now, back to the Stamperatus.  Have you reserved yours yet?  If you haven't, you have until December 30th.  You will need to leave your credit card number, but you will not be charged until it is shipped.  My guess is that you won't get it until some time in April.  Just remember that if you don't reserve it now, you won't be able to get it until the new Annual catalog comes out in June.  I would love for you to reserve it with me.  Just go here, click on Shop Now, scroll down just a little and click under the picture of the Stamperatus where it says Reserve yours now!

Thanks for stopping by today.
