Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge #488, Baby Bear
December 14, 2017
Welcome to the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge #488. This week we have a sketch.
Surely it has nothing to do with the fact that I am going to be a grandmother for the first time, but I chose to use the Baby Bear stamp set. By the way, we found out that it is a girl!!!!! Here is the card.
Isn't it cute!
Start with Thick Whisper White card stock measuring 4 1/4 x 11. Score at 5 1/2. This paper folds much better with a score line.
Cut a piece of the Be Merry Designer Series Paper to fit the front. That's 4 1/4 x 5 1/2. Adhere. Use the Quilted Christmas 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper Stack for the accent pieces. The stripe is 1/2 x 5 1/4. The checked is 1 x 4 1/2.
The bear sits on a Whisper White circle cut using the largest circle of the Stitched Shapes Framelits.
The bear is stamped on Whisper White. I used Crumb Cake for the bottom layer, Soft Suede for the second less detailed stamp, and Early Espresso for the top detailed stamp. Let me tell you that I used the Stamp-a-ma-jig to help me position the bear. I could not do it without it! I'm hoping the coming Stamperatus will help with stamps like this! The bow is part of the Baby Bear stamp set. I stamped off the Cherry Cobbler in the more solid stamp and stamped full force with the more detailed stamp. Fussy cut the bear and the bow. The bow is adhered with dimensionals.
Cut up the arms of the bear and place some of the Boxwood Wreaths in his paws. You can straighten this out. Adhere with glue dots.
The stocking and teddy bear were stamped in Early Espresso on white scrap. I used the Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green, Soft Suede, and Crumb Cake Stampin' Write Markers. Fussy cut. These stamps are from Santa's Sleigh. I did fussy cut these, but there are coordinating Santa's Sleigh Thinlits.
The sentiment is from Santa's Sleigh stamped in Garden Green and punched with the Classic Label Punch.
The inside has the bear and stocking again from Santa's Sleigh. The sentiment is from Flurry of Wishes.
Thanks for stopping by today. By this time next year I'll have my own little granddaughter. I might just save this card for her!
