A Tennis Christmas

Each year I make tennis Christmas cards for my husband's tennis friends.  This is year 9.  You know, it's hard to think up that many different cards.  Each year the number I make seems to increase, too.  This year I made 30 for him.  Read to the end and I'll show you all of the rest of the cards.  Here is the card for 2017.

Tennis Christmas card 2017

Now, keep in mind that the tennis racket and the balls are not Stampin' Up!  They are stamps I picked up at a show several years back.

The base is Thick Whisper White measuring 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and scored at 4 1/4.  This paper folds much much better if you do score it with the Simply Scored Scoring Tool or your Stampin' Trimmer.

The Emerald Envy layer is 3 1/4 x 4 1/4.  The next layer is 3 x 4 and is from the Be Merry Designer Series Paper.  It's in the annual catalog.  This size patterned paper is great because you can get 12 pieces from one sheet and no waste!

This year I'm using the Hang Your Stocking stamp set along with the Christmas Stocking Thinlits.  These are both in the annual catalog, too.

The stocking is cut out in Emerald Envy card stock.  Stamp the toe, heel, and cuff of the stocking in Emerald Envy on white scraps and cut out.  Add a tree in white.  The stocking also has the holly leaves in green and the berries in Cherry Cobbler.  All of the decor is from the Christmas Stocking Thinlits.  Add a bow using the Linen Thread.  Fill the stocking with tennis balls.  These were stamped in black on Daffodil Delight card stock and punched out with the 1/2  inch circle punch.  The one in the middle is on a dimensional.

The tennis racket was also stamped in Memento Black and colored with the Light Smoky Slate Blender Pen.  Fussy cut.

The sentiment is from the Hang Your Stocking set.  Stamp it in Emerald Envy on white.  Cut out with the Layering Ovals Framelits.  Mount with dimensionals.  Glue on another tennis ball.

Tennis Christmas inside

The sentiment is from Hang Your Stockings.  Add a few more tennis balls.  In my 30 I messed up the inside on only one of them.  I stamped the words upside down.  That's not a good thing.  You can see that I stamped the words again on another piece of white card stock and punched it out with a circle punch.  It works.

Tennis Christmas 2017

So here is the card that I made for 2016.

Tennis Christmas card with Wondrous Wreath.

And here are the cards made in previous years.  Keep in mind that I didn't always use just Stampin' Up! supplies.  I did wise up though.

Tennis anyone

I just realized that I've had the tennis racket and ball stamps for over 9 years!  If you want to read about my other tennis posts go here.

I hope that you make your own Christmas cards.  I hope that you've already started on this.  Every year I send well over 100 Christmas cards and my husband sends his.  Each is made with love.  After all, that's what we do!  Spread the love.  If I can help you with supplies, just let me know.  You can access my online store below.  Did you know that these Christmas Stocking Thinlits are on sale on the Online Extravaganza?
