I'M GOING TO BE A GRANDMA!

My daughter Jessie and son in law Robby are expecting their first baby at the end of April.  God is good.  You see, it's been a long hard road for them.  They have wanted this little blessing for a long time.  Things just didn't work out.  I don't think we can understand that deep aching and wanting and disappointment unless we've gone through it ourselves.  What wonderful parents they will make.  And I'm just going to tell you that John and I will be wonderful grandparents.  It's our first, too!  So when I found out that the test was a yes, I sat down and had a long joyful cry and I made her this card.  Stamping is therapeutic, you know.

Jessie and Robby

So you are thinking, what?  But you see our baby is coming with a little help of science and what a miracle it is!  So many lives will be blessed by this little one.  And I have something that not many people have.  I have a picture of my grandchild as an egg ready to be implanted in its mom.

Baby egg close up

Of course we've been praying for this baby and its mom and dad.  So far things are going well.  We've had great reports from the doctor.  I ask for your prayers, too.  We are so blessed.

Robby and Jessie baby

I made this card in gender neutral color.  I chose colors I thought Jessie would like.  The petri dish is made is made from the coffee cup lid from Coffee Cafe.  The egg is the flower center from Daisy Delight.  The Labeler Alphabet was used for the lettering.

In the background I put lots of sentiments from various current stamp sets.  Some of the sets are Guy Greetings, Lovely Friends, Milestone Moments, and Labels to Love.

Colors used were Dapper Denim, Lemon Lime Twist, Pool Party, Smoky Slate, Fresh Fig, and Blushing Bride.

So, thanks so much for sharing in my joy today.  I'll try to keep you updated from time to time.

This was the fridge art the last time we visited Jessie and Robby.  See, they are naturals!

Create with Connie and Mary Challenge #480 Christmas Pines

Welcome to the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge.  This week we have a sketch.

CCMC480

Once the Holiday Catalog comes along, I often overlook the Christmas offerings in the Annual Catalog.  Today I'll be using the stamp set Christmas Pines and the Pretty Pines Thinlits that coordinate with it from the Annual Catalog.

CCMC #480 Christmas Pines

The card base is Thick Whisper White card stock cut at 4 1/4 x 11.  Score this at 5 1/2 and fold.

Cut the Real Red gingham patterned paper from the Quilted Christmas 6 x 6 stack to 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 so that it covers the entire front of the card.  The Quilted Christmas stack is great.  It would not have to be just for Christmas.

Using the Stitched Shapes Framelits, cut the largest circle from Whisper White.

Cut a pine cone from each of the 3 types of pine cones in the thinlits.  The bottom layer is Soft Suede and the top layer is from Early Espresso.  The center pine cone is glued to the white circle.  The two on each side are adhered with dimensionals.  Cut some of the pine boughs from Emerald Envy.  Use Real Red to cut some of the other branches.  I don't know what they would be called.  They do appear to have berries at the end.  Place those around until you are happy with how they look.

Add a bow in the Crinkled Seam Binding in Emerald Envy.  That ribbon is the best!  Look how pretty it ties!

Pines 1

The sentiment is from Christmas Pines stamped in Emerald Envy.

I added some of the Enamel Shapes in Emerald Envy.  I did not realize that they are retired.  I try not to use retired products for my blog.  They just looked so perfect for the project.  I apologize.  We all need to use up some of that retired stuff, though.

Christmas Pines CCMC#480

This card was a lot of fun to make.  I just kept rearranging everything.  I've decided that I like this sketch a lot!

Thank you for taking your time to look at my blog today.  I love to share.  If you don't have a demonstrator, I would love to step into that role for you.  My Product List is below.  Just click on it.

A Study in Black and White

Black and white are just so classic together.  I saw some samples of the stamp set Painted Harvest in black and white on Pinterest and wanted to try it.

Painted Harvest in black and white

So lovely!  I know it's black and white, but who wouldn't love getting this card for a birthday!

The card base is Thick Whisper White measuring 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and scored at 4 1/4.  There is another layer of Whisper White 4 x 5 1/4.  That's the layer that you stamp.

The larger less detailed flower is stamped in Smoky Slate.  The smaller more detailed flower is stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento ink.  The center of the flower is also stamped in black as well as the tiny dots.

Add leaves where needed.  Stamp the detailed leaves first in black and then add the solid leaf in Smoky Slate.

The checked black and white paper is from the Merry Little Christmas Designer Series Paper.  Cut a piece 1 1/4 x 5 1/4.

Do you see the gold ribbon?  It adds that special touch.  That's a new punch called the Decorative Ribbon Border Punch.  Punch from the Gold Foil Sheets.

Add the Shimmer Ribbon in Basic Black.  Then adhere that panel to the card front.

The label stamp is from the Labels to Love stamp set.  The sentiment is from Special Celebrations stamp set.  Punch out with the Everyday Label Punch.  Adhere with dimentsionals and add a bow in the black shimmer ribbon.

The final detail is a few of the Gold Faceted Gems.

Painted Harvest in B & W inside

The inside sentiment is also from Special Celebrations.  Add another flower, too.

Painted Harvest Black and White

We made this card in class last week.  I think everyone loved it.  Now I do have a customer who is a horticulturist.  She did mention that it was very hard to make a flower black and white, but she did it!

I'm so glad that you took a look at my card today.  Thanks so much.  My Product List is below if you need any supplies.  Just click on a product to go to my online store.  Follow me on Pinterest .

Calling All Pumpkins

The Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper is fantastic!  You can do so much with it.  Today I'm using the piece filled with pumpkins.  Warning:  There's fussy cutting involved!  Actually the cutting is pretty easy.  Here's my card.

Painted Autumn DSP

The card base is Cajun Craze.  I don't use this color a lot, but it's a must for autumn.  It's cut at 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and scored and folder at 4 1/4.  The Early Espresso layer is 3 3/4 x 5 and the Very Vanilla layer is 3 5/8 x 4 7/8.  Run this vanilla layer through the Big Shot with the Layered Leaves 3D Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  That's a mouth full!

Add a strip of another sheet from the Painted Autumn pack.  It measures 1 1/2 x 4 7/8.

The crate is cut from the Wood Crate Framelits Dies.  Just cut away the extra and use only the front of the crate.  This is cut from the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper stack.

Then, just start cutting out the pumpkins.  I cut 2 of the clusters of pumpkins and 2 of the single pumpkins.  The pumpkins in front of the crate go on dimensionals.

The sentiment is from the All Things Thanks stamp set.  Stamp in Early Espresso onto a scrap 1/2 inch wide.  Notch the end and adhere to the card just sticking out the side of the pumpkins.

Painted Autumn DSP inside

The inside has a sentiment from the stamp set Count My Blessings in espresso.  Add one more pumpkin.

Painted Autumn Pumpkin card

I love the Painted Autumn and the Wood Textures designer papers from Stampin' Up!  Did you know that they are on sale?  Selected papers are Buy 3, Get one free!  You need to check that out.  It's only until the end of October!

Merry Hot Chocolate

Today's card is a CASE from Cindee Wilkinson.  I believe on her post that she gives credit to Monica Gale.  It's a great card.  I made a few minor changes.

Coffee Cafe Chocolate

Start with a card base of Pool Party cut 5 1/2 x 8 1/2.  Score at 4 1/4.

The Cherry Cobbler layer is 3 3/4 x 5.  The Whisper White layer is 3 5/8 x 4 7/8.

Add of piece of the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper Stack measuring 1 3/4 x 3 5/8 to the bottom of the white layer.

Sponge some Pool Party ink near the top of the center of the white layer to show up behind the cup.  It will make it stand out a little better.

Using the new Decorative Ribbon Border punch cut a 3 5/8" length of Night of Navy card stock to fit across the card.  Layer next to the wood piece.  Add a piece of the Night of Navy Gingham Ribbon.

Cut the mug out of the Be Merry Designer Series paper using the Coffee Cup Framelits.  Cut the handle for the mug from the same paper using the letter C from the Large Letters Framelits.  The snowflake on the mug was cut from Whisper White using the Seasonal Layers Thinlits Dies.

The whipped cream is a die cut from the Coffee Cup Framelits in white.  Add some of the Embossing Paste over the cut out and allow to dry.  Sponge with a little of the Crumb Cake ink.

Adhere the mug, handle, and whipped cream with dimensionals.

Finish off the card with a few rhinestones and a gingham ribbon on the handle.

The sentiment is from the stamp set Special Celebrations.

Coffee Cafe Chocolate inside

Here's the inside of the card.  The sentiment is from the Coffee Cafe stamp set.  Since we have hot chocolate, the coffee is covered with the word chocolate.  Make this on a scrap of Whisper White.  Stamp Early Espresso and use the letters from the Labeler Alphabet stamp set.  You will need to trim it to fit.

Coffee Cafe Hot Chocolate

I think there are many people who would appreciate this card.  We all love chocolate!

Thanks for visiting my blog today.  If you want to see a card using the Coffee Cafe bundle, I posted one yesterday.  You can see it here.

The Wood Textures Designer Series Paper Stack is part of the Buy 3, Get 1 free sale during October with Stampin' Up!
