Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge # 481 Vintage Leaves
October 26, 2017
Good morning! It's so good to have you visit my blog today. It's the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge. Today is a color challenge.
We are using Tranquil Tide, Cajun Craze, and Crushed Curry. To me, these colors scream fall, so that's the theme of the card I chose to make. I'm also going to revisit a technique that's been around for a while.
The card base is in Tranquil Tide. It measures 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, scored and folded at 4 1/4.
The next layer is Watercolor Paper cut at 4 x 5 1/4.
I am using the Vintage Leaves stamp set. The leaves are in the three colors for our challenge. For this technique, stamp one leaf at a time. Stamp in the color of the leaf. Then use the Aqua Painter to move the color inside the leaf. I really did not add additional color for the inside of the leaf. The color from the stamp will take care of that. Be very careful to use the Aqua Painter just at the outside line and pull the color inside. Work your way down the leaf filling in the center.
I stared with the Cajun Craze leaves. Then I stamped the Crushed Curry ones and filled in with the Tranquil Tide smaller leaves.
Run the Tranquil Tide Finely Woven Ribbon across the card and add a bow made with the ribbon.
The tag is stamped in Tranquil Tide on Whisper White card stock from the stamp set Labels to Love. Punch it out with the Everyday Label Punch.
Add a leaf in Cajun Craze to the tag. It's stamped on Watercolor Paper and colored in the same way as on the card front. Cut out the leaf with the Leaflets Framelits. The banners are 1/2 inch wide. The saying is from the At Home with You stamp set.
The inside sentiment for the card is from the Count My Blessings stamp set. Stamp the words in Cajun Craze and add a few Tranquil Tide leaves.
I hope you will try this technique. It's really very easy! Go ahead and give it a try!
Do you like my cards? I hope so because I sure love making them. I would love for you to follow me on Pinterest. You can do that here. Thank you! And thanks for visiting my blog today.
