Merry Patterns, Merry Christmas

A Musical Season Christmas

It's hard to think about Christmas without music.  I just love all the Christmas carols.  Well, I do admit that I have a strong dislike of the song Jingle Bell Rock.  I know, I'm weird!  Could that song even be called a carol?  Well, I digress.

The card today uses the stamp set Musical Season and the coordinating Musical Instruments Framelits.  They are found on page 25 of the Holiday Catalog.  The Merry Music Specialty Designer Series Paper on page 13 compliments this set perfectly.

Musical Season

This card just makes me happy.  If I could carry a tune, I might break out in song.  I will anyway.  You can't hear me!

Start with a card base of Bermuda Bay.  It is cut at 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, scored at 4 1/4 and folded.

Cut one of the black sheets of the Merry Music patterned paper 4 x 5 1/4.

Use the Lots of Labels Framelits to cut the 2 shapes.  Cut the largest in Bermuda Bay and the next largest in the white Merry Music Specialty paper.  Press the Bermuda Bay ink pad to get some ink in the lid.  Using the Aqua Painter put a little color in the center of the white music sheet.  Don't put a lot of color because the water will make your paper wrinkle a little.

Stamp the lyre in black and the mandolin in Bermuda Bay and cut these out with the Musical Instruments Framelits.  Cut the treble clef in black.  The instruments are on dimensionals.

Put some of the Gold Metallic Thread behind the instruments.  Wrap this thread around your 4 fingers, slide off and attach with glue dots or dimensionals.

The sentiment is from the same stamp set.  It's embossed in gold.  It's stamped on a 1/2 inch strip of Whisper White scrap.  Notch the ends.  Mount this with dimensionals on the ends so that it will lay flat over the instruments.

Musical Seasons inside

For the inside color Bermuda Bay with the Aqua Painter where the words will be stamped.  The saying is from the same stamp set.  The bottom stamp is too.  Add another Treble Clef.
