A Holiday Catalog Sampler

I recently had a Holiday Catalog Bingo celebration at my home.  It was so much fun!  We had door prizes, prize patrol, seat gifts, decorated water bottles, a fantastic Make & Take, oh yes, and Bingo!  We had so much fun that I forgot to take any pictures at all.  I've got to learn to give that job to a helper.  I do have a picture of our seat gifts and I want to share them with you.  I wanted to give everyone a taste of a lot of things in the catalog that they might over look.

Holiday Catalog Seat Gift 2017

So here is what each person received.  I started off with an Acetate Card Box from page 13 of the catalog.  These boxes are designed to hold 5 cards and envelopes.  They could hold more or less depending on how embellished your cards are.  I just don't think these are easy to see in the catalog.  Let's face it, they're clear!  I think everyone will want some of these if they know they exist.

Using Thick Whisper White cut at 4 1/4 x 5, I made a little divider for the box.  Score at 2, 2 1/4, and 2 1/2.  Burnish these into a little mountain fold.  I think holding the mountain together with Fast Fuse or Tear & Tape is your best bet.  I tried glue dots and they do not hold well.

One end of the box holds silver and red Mini Tinsel Trim.  These are on page 21 and come in a 2 pack with both colors.  Cut a piece of the Fabulous Foil Designer Acetate, page 194 of the annual catalog, to 1 7/8 x 4.  Each person gets 1 yard of silver and 1 yard of Real Red.  Just wrap each around the piece of acetate.  This will go on the smaller end of the divider.

For the other end, cut a black piece of the Merry Music Specialty Designer Series Paper to 3 1/4 x 4.  Adhere this to the larger end of the divider.  On this end place a gold and a silver Foil Snowflake, page 37.  Also include 1 each of the 3 designs in the Stitched Felt Embellishments from page 5.

Holiday catalog close up of belly band

Here's a close up of the belly band for the box.  Put this around the box where the little mountain in the divider will be.  I used the Year of Cheer Specialty Designer Series Paper.  This measures 1 x 12.  Just wrap around the box and adhere the end with Fast Fuse.  Fix it so that the tag will fit over the end of the paper.

The tag is stamped on Thick Whisper White card stock in Garden Green ink.  The sentiment in Real Red.  These stamps are part of the Labels to Love stamp set on page 45.  Punch it out with the coordinating Everyday Label Punch found on page 12.  Punch a hole in the top with the 1/8 inch Handheld Circle punch on page 207 of the annual catalog.  The tree is cut from a piece of the Quilted Christmas 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper on page 5 of the Holiday catalog.  I used the green sheet with the white swirls.  I thought it looked like a decorated tree.  Add a deer from Early Espresso.  The tree and the deer are part of the Card Front Builder Thinlit Dies, page 13.  Use a length of the Jute Twine, page 13 to tie on the tag.

Holiday catalog seat gift without box

Here is a picture of the gift without the glare of the box.

All in all this is a pretty good sampler of lots of items in the catalog.
