Striped Treat Bags! Gold Striped!

I shared our first Make & Take from Stampin' Bingo earlier here.  It was the Daisy Vase.  Today I have our second Make & Take.  We are decorating the Striped Treat Bag. That bag is so shiny and gorgeous!  It will certainly be great for a little gift.  Here's is the bag we decorated.

Striped Treat Bags M & T

Of course I wanted to highlight some of the new colors and some of the new products from the new 2017-2018 annual Stampin' Up! catalog.  I featured four of the new In Colors.  Why didn't I use all 5?  Well, I'm still asking myself that question.  I guess I just felt like it had enough.  We used Powder Pink, Festive Fig, Lemon Lime Twist, and Tranquil Tide.

The Lovely Words Thinlits Dies were used to cut the word friend out of Tranquil Tide. You will also need to use the Layering Ovals Framelits Dies.  Put that oval around the friend die.  They coordinate so well together!

The rest of the cut outs are from the Eclectic Layers Thinlits Dies.  The leaves are in Lemon Lime Twist.  The Fresh Fig flower actually uses 2 dies.  There is the outside die and then the detailed die.  Just place the detail inside the outside shape and cut it all out at one time.  The Powder Pink flower is done just the same.  A detailed die fits inside.  That's kind of neat, isn't it?

Glue down all of the pieces and you are done!  Find someone who needs a gift!

Striped Bag close up

Here's a close up.  I must say I love those flowers.  In fact I used these flowers on a card I showed recently here.  Take a look.  It's a really pretty card.

Short and sweet today.  I hope you liked my project!

Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge #464

Hello again and welcome to the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge! Today I have a cute little card for you.  Our challenge is to use a layout from this picture in the 2017-2108 annual Stampin' Up! catalog.

CCMC464

I chose to use the layout on the upper right corner.  This card is simple, and it actually brings into play a Christmas set called Santa's Sleigh and the matching Santa's Sleigh Framelits Dies.  Don't you just love it when you can use a Christmas set for something not Christmas!

CCMC#464 Santa's Sleigh and Colorful Seasons Bundle

I love the mountains!  I've been thinking for a while that the trees in Santa's Sleigh would be great with the chair from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits Dies.  I think this card is just restful.

  • The card base is Early Espresso cut at 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and scored at 4 1/4.
  • The wood patterned paper is from the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper Stack.  It's cut at 3 1/2 x 5 1/2.  I am thinking that we will make this card in my July class.  If so, I'll change this measurement to 3 x 5 1/2.  That way you can get two cards out of one of the 6 x 6 sheets from the stack.
  • Use Garden Green, Old Olive, and Pear Pizzazz card stock.  Stamp the tree on all of them in Garden Green ink with the Santa's Sleigh stamp set. Cut them out using the Santa's Sleigh Framelits.
  • The sentiment is from The Colorful Seasons stamp set.  Use a 1/2 inch Whisper White scrap.  It's 4 inches long and notched on the ends.  Stamp in Cajun Craze.
  • The chair is part of the Seasonal Layers Thinlits Dies.  Cut it in Cajun Craze.

That's all there is to it.  Pretty simple.

CCMC#464 inside

Here's the inside of the card.  I just couldn't resist adding a tree and chair there, too.  The words inside are from the stamp set Just Add Text.  It has great sayings!

CCMC#464 full view

Thanks for stopping by today.  The Colorful Seasons stamp set and the Seasonal Layers Thinlits Dies can be purchased as a bundle for a 10% savings.  It is definitely one of my favorites from the new catalog.  I was also glad to dust off a Christmas set and put it to use!

Daisy Vase

I just had my Stampin' Bingo this past Saturday.  One of our Make & Takes was a Daisy Vase made using a salt shaker.  Yes, I bought the glass two pack from Walmart.  In my area that was $1.29.  I've used these for vases before and I knew they would be an economical way to go.  Here's what we made.

Salt Shaker Daisy Vase

I think it turned out so cute!  And, the best part is that the Daisy punch and the Daisy Delight Bundle are available once again!  The stars have aligned!  Look for them in the Product List below!

Let me tell you first about the vase.  I did add a little grass.  I got this a long time ago at the Dollar Tree.  I think it was around Easter last year.  It perfectly matches our Pool Party.  Don't pack this very tight, just a little.  It's just a little something to hide the stems.  Put a band around the vase using the Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper.  I cut it 1 1/2 x 6.  It actually left a little gap, but cutting at 6 inches allowed a better use of the paper.  I used Fast Fuse on the back of the paper.  Leave the opening on a flat side.  That becomes the front of the vase.  Add your tag with dimensionals to hide the opening.  The tag is stamped with a sentiment from the Eastern Beauty stamp set in Calypso Coral on Whisper White.  Punch with the 1 3/8 Circle punch.  Use the 1 1/2 Circle punch from Pool Party to frame it.  Finish off the vase with a bow made from the Daffodil Delight 1/4" Double-Stitched Ribbon.

I saw how to assemble these daisies on Facebook one day.  I've looked again and on Pinterest and I can't find it.  I wish I could reference it.  I'll do my best to explain.

  • I picked up a package of wire stems from the floral department of a hobby store. Cut these at 7 1/2, 6, and 5.  There are three for each vase of different lengths.  I wish I knew the name of the tool I used.  My husband strings tennis rackets and I used something he has for that.  Bend the ends to look like this.

Stems 1

Stems 2

  • Punch a 3/4 inch circle from Old Olive.  Pierce a hole in the middle of the circle. Put a glue dot between the pierced hold and the outer edge.  Thread the olive circle through the wire with the glue dot facing up.  Make sure that the glue dot meets the looped end of the wire.
  • Each of my flowers is made up of 3 punched flowers.  I made the flowers in Calypso Coral, Pool Party, and Daffodil Delight.  Stamp the card stock with the same color of ink and punch.  Curl the petals of each layer carefully using a bone folder.  The three layers are attached using dimensionals.  Off set each layer so the flower looks thick.  Add a large gold faceted gem to the center of the top layer.
  • Now take the stem with the Old Olive circle.  Load it with a bunch of glue dots. They will be on the top, the same side that the first glue dot is on.  Attach the flower.
  • When all three flowers are made, arrange them in the salt shaker vase!  Enjoy!

So there you are.  I think they are cute!  Wouldn't they be perfect for someone in a nursing home, or just to brighten up your desk?  Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you'll try making your own.  SU supplies are listed below.  I'd love for you to click on an image and go to my store.

Beautiful Bouquet for the NC Demo Blog Hop

Hello!  I'm so glad you have joined the NC Demo Blog Hop.  Today we are sharing our favorite new product in the 2017-2018 annual Stampin' Up! catalog.  It's one of the best catalogs ever!  It's really too difficult to choose one.  I'll be mentioning several items.  To tell the truth, I love it all!

Join us blog

One of the first stamp sets to catch my eye was the Beautiful Bouquet set and the coordinating framelits Bouquet Bunch.  It's so lovely.  I will admit, that I was a little intimidated when I finally got the bundle.  What to do?  Here's the card I made.

Beautiful Bouquet for the NC Demo Blog Hop

I love how this turned out.  Yes, it looks labor intensive.  It did take a little time, but it's not hard.

  • Berry Burst is a most delicious new In Color.  I love it.  The card base measures 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, scored at 4 1/4.
  • The Whisper White layer is 4 x 5 1/4.  Spritz it with a little water and run it through the Big Shot with the brand new 3D Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  That's a mouth full.  It's a must have!  It was on my first order!  This will need to dry.
  • Now you have the stamping and the cutting.  First let me say, that SU has made it so easy.  If you look at the stamps there is a little place on each that bumps out a little.  There is a matching bump on the framelits.  Just match the two and your framelits will line up easy peasy.
  • Use Old Olive for the stems and leaves.  I cut about 7 extra leaves to fill in around the top.  For those I did not cut the whole leaf since most would be hidden, just the ends.
  • The largest flowers are Berry Burst stamped on Berry Burst.
  • The blue flowers are Tempting Turquoise stamped on Tempting Turquoise.  The centers are Dapper Denim.
  • The pink flowers are Blushing Bride on Blushing Bride with a Berry Burst center.
  • The yellow flowers are Daffodil Delight on Daffodil Delight with Peekaboo Peach centers.
  • SU has also introduced a great ribbon for the new In Colors.  Tie a Berry Burst bow with the 1/2 inch Finely Woven Ribbon.  Attach with glue dots.
  • Do you see the great little tag hanging from the ribbon.  It's all part of the stamp set and framelits.  Love it!

Beautiful Bouquet inside

Here's the inside of the card.  It's all part of the Beautiful Bouquet Bundle.  Buy it as a bundle and you get 10% off!  You know you want it all anyway, right?

Beautiful Bouquet and Layered Leaves EF

Just look at all the texture on this card.  It is gorgeous if I do say so myself.  It makes me happy!  It's so exciting to be part of a blog hop featuring new items.  I can't wait to see all of the other projects.  Tracie is next.  She always has great ideas!  I don't know about you, but my wish list keeps getting longer and longer.

A Daisy Delight Thank You

I know that many of you have been sad that the Daisy Punch has not been orderable.  As of yesterday, the punch and bundle are back in stock!  Of course, the fact that the punch sold out so quickly means that many of you have this punch.  The daisy is the focal point in this card that we made in class earlier this month.Daisy Delight stamp set

  • The card base is Thick Whisper White measuring 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, scored at 4 1/4.
  • There is an Early Espresso layer measuring 3 3/4 x 5 and a Calypso Coral layer that measures 3 5/8 x 4 7/8.  The Whisper White layer is 3 1/4 x 4 1/2.  Run it through the Big Shot with the Hexagons 3D Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.
  • The thin strip of patterned paper measures 1/2 x 4 7/8.  It's from the Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper.
  • If you want to save a little on paper, cut the circles for the tag from these layers before you adhere them together.  For the Early Espresso punch a 1 1/2 inch circle.  For the Calypso Coral, stamp the sentiment from Label Me Pretty in espresso and punch with the 1 3/8 circle punch.
  • Stamp the daisy on Whisper White card stock two times in Calypso Coral and punch it out with that wonderful Daisy Punch.  Curl the petals with your Bone Folder.  Off set the two flowers and adhere with a dimensional.  Adhere to the card with glue dots.  The center of the flower was stamped in Early Espresso. The solid stamp was stamped off and the detailed stamp full force.  I stamped this on scrap paper, cut it out, and glued it on.  It would be so much easier to just stamp it directly onto the daisy.  I think the effect is about the same.
  • The bee is from Dragonfly Dreams.  Stamp it in espresso, color the stripes with the So Saffron Stampin' Write Marker.  Color the wings with Wink of Stella.  You'll have to fussy cut the dragonfly and then adhere it with dimensionals, too.

Here's the inside of the card.  The daisy was stamped twice directly on the card stock. Off set it.  That's easy to do since the stamps are photopolymer.  The center is stamped directly on the flower just as we did above.  The saying here is also from Label Me Pretty.

Daisy Delight card inside (2)

This makes a great thank you card.  It's a lot of fun to make.  If you don't have the Daisy Punch, hopefully you won't have a long time to wait.
