Just a Little Love and Support

I have a small team.  We are the Luv 2 Create team.  There are 8 of us all together. We are a great team!  We are family.  It just seemed like, all at once, many of my team were challenged by life's little, or maybe not so little, ups and downs.  We all need encouragement from time to time.  Some of us need it daily!  I made today's card with encouragement in mine.  I did send it to all of my team members.  I hope that does not diminish it's importance.  I know each of us has specific, public or private, needs.  I thought of each team member and their needs as I made these cards.  I said a little prayer for each of them.  I know that some of the sentiments will mean more to one according to  the challenges they are facing.  Here is today's card.

Encouragement for team

This card is simple, but there is a lot of stamping.  I did have to play around a lot to get the sayings just where I felt they would work best.  The base of the card is Emerald Envy measuring 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and scored at 4 1/4.  The Whisper White layer is 4 x 5 1/4.  I used the solid Emerald Envy Baker's twine.  Adhere the piece of twine across before you adhere the white layer.  A glue dot was used to adhere the bow.

Lots of stamp sets were used in the making of this card.  Here's a list:  High Tide, Best Birds, Suite Sayings, Sunburst Sayings, Watercolor Words, Watercolor Wishes, All Things Thanks, Picture Perfect, Thoughtful Banners, Sending Thoughts, Love & Affection, Designer Tee, Remarkable You, You've Got This, and Flower Patch.

The colors used are Emerald Envy, Pool Party, Flirty Flamingo, Tip Top Taupe, Mint Macaron, Crushed Curry, and Night of Navy.

Here's a view that's just a little closer.

Encouragement inside

The inside is also simple.  The words are from High Tide in Emerald Envy and the hearts are from Watercolor Wishes stamped in Flirty Flamingo.

Swap Card for the North Carolina Demo Group Quaterly

Tamra Davis and her TaDas put on a great Quarterly for the NC Demo group in Matthews, NC this past weekend.  Let me just say that IF you live in North Carolina and IF you are a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, you MUST join our group.  We are growing all the time.  Just do a search on Facebook for the NC Stampin' Up! Demos. It's a closed group and you must qualify using both of my IF's above.  Send me a comment if you are interested.   This weekend the TaDas played host to 75 of us!

North Carolina Demo Group

I don't know of many states that have groups like ours.  Our group is very active.  I've made a lot of friends in this group.  I'll just finish by saying that this group is a state treasure!

I took part in the swap offered using mostly products from the new Occasions catalog.  Here is the card I made.

NC swap for Quarterly

Last week, I shared a card using the Special Reason stamp set and the Stylish Stems Framelits here.  I love this bundle!  You can purchase the bundle and save 10%.  Let me just say, you probably don't just want this, you need it.  Here are the details for the card.

  • Start with a card base of Basic Gray.  This one measures 4 1/4 x 11, score at 5 1/2 and fold.
  • The next layer is Mint Macaron.  It measures 3 7/8 x 5 1/8.
  • Then, there is a layer of Very Vanilla cut at 3 3/4 x 5.
  • Use the Stylish Stems Framelits to cut out the large flower, 2 smaller flowers, and the stem.  I ran this through the Big Shot twice.  The first time, I cut the large flower and 1 smaller.  The second time, cut the other smaller flower and the stem.
  • Run the vanilla paper through the Big Shot again with the new Hexagon Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  It really looks cool!
  • Use the Blooms & Bliss Designer Series Paper behind the cut outs before you adhere the vanilla paper.

NC swap 30

The little labels in the lower corner are part of the bundle.  Use the framelits to cut Basic Gray and Very Vanilla.  Stamp a leaf in Mint Macaron and the sentiment in Basic Gray.  This is the Special Reason stamp set.

NC swap 40

The inside of the card has a sentiment from the Window Shopping stamp set.  It's stamped in Basic Gray.  More leaves are added in Mint Macaron.  What friend wouldn't love getting this card from you!

NC Quarterly swap

It was so fun to share a day with some of my friends who are also part of my Luv 2 Create team.  Here they are:  Twila, me, Kaye, and Martha!

Avant-Garden and Delicate Details

Don't you just love Sale-a-Bration?  Isn't free such a lovely word?  Today I am featuring Avant-Garden and Delicate Details.  This two sets are available for free from the Sale-a-Bration Brochure.  You get to pick a free item with every $50 you spend.  It's a win win!  Mind you, this card is a CASE, copy and share everything, from Melissa Davies. Her card inspired me!  Here is my version.

Avant-Garden CASE

I'm using this card for two purposes.  One is a Thank You for customers and the other will be sent to shut-ins.  It works for both!

I started off using the Note Cards & Envelopes in Crumb Cake from the annual catalog on page 176.  I've said this before.  This is one of the best values in the catalog!  You get 20 note cards and envelopes for $6.00.

  • I started by stamping the lace across the card.  Use the Whisper White Craft Stampin' Ink.  This ink does take a little time to dry.  Set it aside.  It will smear so don't skip this step.  I used the Grid Paper to help me keep this stamp straight on the card.  Grid Paper is on page 185.  It's an essential stamping tool!
  • Next, stamp the flower.  Pool Party was used here.
  • The stems are stamped in Mint Macaron.  It's hard to tell much difference in the Pool Party and Mint Macaron on the Crumb Cake.  We'll just say it's subtle.  One of the stems is longer.  Just stamp another stem at the end of one already stamped.  It's easy since the stamp is photopolymer.
  • The center of the flowers are stamped in Early Espresso.
  • The bird is cut using the Birds & Blooms Framelits.  The little bird is cut in Early Espresso.  I tried to keep the wing pieces in side there.
  • The sentiment is stamped in Early Espresso.  The Thanks is from Thankful Thoughts and the have a happy day uses the Hey, Chick! stamp set.  It's also in the Sale-a-Bration brochure.
  • Finish the card with the dots, Avant-Garden, in Crumb Cake and white craft.  Let that craft dry.

Avant 3

Here are the insides of the cards.  The thanks card uses Thankful Thoughts.  The next card uses the stamp set Window Shopping.  These cards are quick and easy.  Give them a try!

Thanks for stopping by today.  My list of products used follows.  Have a wonderful day.  Stamp something.  It will make you happy!

I Just Can't Stop Using Cool Treats!

The Cool Treats bundle is fantastic!  It's so much fun to "dress up" the ice cream! Today's card is one we made in class last week.

Cool Treats bundle class card

Look on pages 32 and 33 for the Cool Treats Suite.  There are lots of items to spice up your cards.  Today, I'm using the Tasty Treats Specialty Designer Series Paper to enhance this card.

  • The card base is Thick Whisper White measuring 4 1/4 x 11.  Score your paper at 5 1/2.
  • The larger piece of the Tasty Treats patterned paper is 2 x 5 1/2.  The other two pieces are 1/4 x 5 1/2.
  • The word SWEET is stamped in Chocolate Chip down the side of the card.
  • The sentiment is stamped in Watermelon Wonder onto Whisper White and cut out.  The word so in not in this set.  I used the set Sunshine Sayings to stamp a so.

Cool Treats Sentiment

  • The ice cream cone and one of the ice cream scoops are from the Tasty Treats Specialty paper cut out using the Frozen Treats Framelit dies.  Other colors of card stock uses are Watermelon Wonder, Whisper White, and Chocolate Chip. There is no limit to how all of these pieces can be used.

Cool Treats inside

The inside of the card is stamped with the Cool Treats set.  The solid ice cream is stamped off in Watermelon Wonder and the swirls are stamped on top.  The cone is stamped in Crumb Cake.  OK, I'm sure you are thinking that I must have messed up on the sentiment.  You would be right, of course.  I would just stamp that sentiment right on the card.

Cool Treats full card

Lots of birthday's are in January, so this card will be in the mail soon!  Buy this bundle, throw in the Tasty Treats Specialty Designer Paper, and you'll qualify for a free Sale-a-Bration item!  It's a no brainer!

Special Reason is Truly Special and SUO #165

Have you seen the Special Reason Bundle in the new Occasions catalog?  It's on page 42.  Take a look.  You might be saying that it's just another flower set.  The tell the truth, that's what I thought, too.  That is until I saw the Stampin' Up! video about this bundle.  Have you seen it?  Here it is.  The framelits are called Stylish Stems.

This brings me to the card for today.  This was a card we made in class last week.  Snow, however, caused me to postpone one of he classes to this Friday.  This card also showcases a new bundle which is the challenge in the SUO #165 Challenge.  Use something new!

Special Reason and Stylish Stems

  • Start with a card base of Real Red card stock.  This one is cut 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, scored at 4 1/4.
  • The Whisper White card stock layer measures 4 x 5 1/4.  Run it through the Big Shot with the new Falling Petals Embossing Folder.  It's on Page 51 and it's so pretty!
  • Use the patterned paper from the Sending Love Designer Series Paper stack, page 15.  It measures 3 x 3 1/2.  I do realize that cutting this paper 3 x 3 would definitely save on paper.  It would work that way.  I just felt that it needed that little bit of extra.

Special reason flower close up

  • The Whisper White card stock is cut 2 3/4 x 3 1/4.  Use the Stylish Stems Framelits to cut the flower from the center of the paper.  Adhere this to the patterned paper using the Foam Adhesive strips.  Before you do so, remember to run a length of red grosgrain ribbon across the bottom.  Make a bow and adhere with a glue dot.  This ribbon is on page 15.  It's called Sending Love Ribbon Combo Pack, and it comes with a Real Red roll and a Whisper White roll of 1/8 grosgrain ribbon.
  • The leaves are cut with the Stylish Stems Framelits from Pear Pizzazz card stock. Cut 1 small and 2 large.
  • The red tag at the bottom of the card is part of the Stylish Stems set.  The sentiment is from the Special Reason stamp set.  Cut it out with the Layering Ovals Framelits.  I think it fits nicely on the red tag.

Special Reason tag

For the inside of the card, use the Special Reason stamp set.  The colors used are Real Red and Pear Pizzazz.

This card is just fun to make.  I'll have another card next week using this bundle. Buying this bundle gets you close to a Sale-a-Bration free item.  Just add on the Sending Love Paper Stack or the Sending Love Ribbon Combo Pack, or both!
