Craft fairs are coming up and I've been super busy. I used the idea from Janet Wakeland and the test tubes from the September Paper Pumpkin to make reindeer food. I don't usually put retired product on my blog, but today almost everything is retired. It's nice to use some of the old for a craft fair. In fact, it feels good. Here is my project.
Do you remember the thick 12 x 12 designer series paper from several years ago? I loved the weightiness of this paper. I started with a 2 x 6 inch piece. I used the scallop tag topper punch on one end. Look at both sides because some of it is directional. Score from the other end at 1, 1 1/2, 4. 4 1/2. Use the 3/4 inch circle punch. On the 1 1/2 inch and the 4 inch score lines, punch in the center. Fold on the score lines so that the center piece sticks out. The test tube fits in through the holes.
For the tag on the front, I punched Cherry Cobbler card stock with the 2 1/2 inch circle punch (retired) and the Whisper White is punched with the 2 inch punch. The reindeer come from designer series paper from last year's holiday catalog. I had some left over and just cut out the reindeer. That's why they are not all the same. I love that, too! The words are stamped using the retired rotary stamp. The little dots are stamped in Soft Suede and are from the Jolly Friends stamp set.
The test tubes are filled with oatmeal and a little glitter mix.
For the top, I used a 4 inch piece of Cherry Cobbler ribbon (retired). I slipped it through the slit and tied it with a piece of Linen Thread. Trim the ends of the cobbler ribbon to look pretty!
It just makes me happy to use some of my retired product. I sure hope this will make some little children happy on Christmas Eve as they leave a little magic food to entice the reindeer to bring Santa by with his bag of toys!
Back in the spring, Paper Pumpkin had a wreath kit. I also want to share a Christmas wreath made from the kit, Embellished Ornaments and some retired product.
I used the Embellished Ornaments and the Delicate Ornaments thinlits to make the ornament decoration using Thick Whisper White and Cherry Cobbler card stock and the Gold Foil Sheets. Add pearls in the center of the gold foil. Cut a holder for the top from gold foil. Tie a piece of retired gold cord.
The Cherry Cobbler ribbon for the bow is retired. I added some holly and berries cut from an old retired thick die called Stocking Accents. I creased the holly down the center and then sponged the crease and edges with Old Olive ink. The holly is from Old Olive and the berries are from cobbler.
I used the stamp from Reason for the Season for the sign. Stamp in white craft ink and allow to dry.
Thanks for stopping by today. Maybe you have some retired product you need to use. When you do, share a picture with me! Then remember that you can replenish your stock with a visit to my store. A list of current product follows.
