Simply Irresistible

Did you see the Color Fusers Blog Hop on Monday?  If you didn't you might want to check it out.  Today I'm going to show another card with Flirty Flamingo, Sweet Sugarplum, Rich Razzleberry, and Mint Macaron.  I had a hard time deciding which card to use for the blog hop.  You'll have to let me know which one you like better. Here's the card for today.

This card features the Irresistibly Floral Specialty Designer Series Paper.  Here's a picture of it.

I also used the new Sponge Brayers in the annual catalog.  When you order, you get 2 handles and 4 sponges.

Let's get right to it.

• The card base is Sweet Sugarplum measuring 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, scored at 4 1/4.
• The Rich Razzleberry layer is cut 4 x 5 1/4.
• The Irresistibly Floral paper is cut to 3 7/8 x 5 1/8.  I used the new Sponge Brayers to color the paper.  I used Sweet Sugarplum along the top, Flirty flamingo in the middle, and Rich Razzleberry along the bottom.  I started at the top.  Brayer until you have the color you want and then change to the next color until done.  Rub over everything with a paper towel to remove the ink from the shiny part of the paper.
• The Whisper White oval and Rich Razzleberry scalloped ovals are cut using the Layering Ovals Framelits.  The sentiment, stamped in Razzleberry, is from the Rose Wonder stamp set.  The flowers are punched with the Tree Builder Punch in all three colors.  The centers of the flowers are the new enamel dots.  I also added Mint Macaron leaves punched out with the Tree Builder Punch again.  The oval is adhered with dimensionals.  I did put some Gold Metallic Thread behind the oval.

• I added a Razzleberry balloon in the upper left corner.  Punch this out with the Balloon Bouquet Punch.  Sponge around the balloon in Razzleberry ink.  I taped the end of some gold thread to the back and wrapped it around the tie of the balloon several times.  I let the string trail down behind the oval.  Add a little flower.  Adhere the balloon with a dimensional.

 

For the inside, I added a strip of the Irresistible Floral paper brayered in all three colors.  It measures 1 1/2 x 4.  Another balloon was added, too.  The sentiment is from the Birthday Blossoms stamp set.

Color Fusers Blog Hop: September 2016-Part 2

It's time for Part 2 of the Color Fusers for September.  This month we are using Flirty Flamingo, Mint Macaron, Rich Razzleberry, and Sweet Sugarplum.  These colors go well together.  Give them a try.  Don't forget to hop over to all of the sites.  We have some great projects!

My card today uses the stamp set Watercolor Words on page 135 of the annual catalog.  It's a new set for me, so it's my first time using it.  These colors make me think of flowers so that's what I'm using from the set.  The real star of the show though is Wink of Stella.  I took lots of pictures trying to capture the sparkly shininess of this card.  I don't think it can be done.

Just think about every image covered in Wink of Stella.  The flowers, the leaves, the dots, the words, all covered in Wink of Stella.  

 

Oh I wish you could see it in person!  This card is pretty easy too.   Let me tell you all about it.

• The card base is Rich Razzleberry 4 1/4 x 11, scored at 5 1/2.
• The Whisper White layer is 4 x 5 1/4.
• We are making our own background paper.  The largest flower is stamped in Rich Razzleberry.  I painted over it in Wink of Stella.  The ink moves and covers the rest of the flower.  Don't be afraid to let your work spill off of the page.  It looks better that way. The smaller flowers are stamped in Sweet Sugarplum.  For coloring these with Wink of Stella, I pressed the ink pad to get ink in the lid. Then I picked up the color and just painted in the flower.  Warning!  Wipe out the sparkle from the lid when you are finished or it will get onto your pad.  The leaves are stamped in Mint Macaron and colored the same way.  Be sure to clean the brush by wiping it on paper until it is clear between your colors.
• The dots are stamped in Flirty Flamingo.  They come from the stamp set Fresh Fruit.  I used them as a filler for blank spots.  These also got a dab of Wink of Stella.
• The Whisper White circle and the Rich Razzleberry scalloped circle are cut using the Layering Circles Framelits.  I love these.  I have the circles, ovals, squares, and the sweet & sassy (hearts).  I use them a lot!  They are a must have!  The sentiment is from Watercolor Words and is stamped in Rich Razzleberry.  Yes, I went over them with Wink of Stella.  The little flower and two leaves were stamped on scrap paper, cut out with paper snips and adhered with a dimensional.

 

For the inside of the card, I used another sentiment from the Watercolor Words and more flowers.

 

All of need for this card is the Watercolor Words stamp set, a little paper,  four ink pads, and your Wink of Stella!  How easy.  Oh, don't forget the Layering Circles Framelits. eOh, and I did use Fresh Fruit for the dots.  That's all!    On Wednesday, I'm going to post another card with this color combination.  Let me know what you think.  My list of products will follow the list of blog participants.  Thanks for stopping by!

Need Inspiration? Use the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog

It may never happen to you.  Sometimes,  my creative juices are simply not there. Pinterest is a great place for inspiration.  But, have you thought about the Stampin' Up! annual catalog?  Just look at the front.  It says right on there "Find Your Inspiration."  The card today is found on page 48 of the catalog.  Like most stampers, I couldn't resist changing it up a little.

This card features the Flourishing Phrases stamp set and the Flourish Thinlit Dies. Yes, and before you can ask, they do come as a bundle!  Savings!

• I started with a card base of So Saffron cut 4 1/4 x 11, scored at 5 1/2.
• The Chocolate Chip layer is cut 4 x 5 1/4.  I have ignored Chocolate Chip.  Why, I wonder?  Shame on me.  Anyway, I embossed this layer with the new Petal Burst Embossing Folder.

• The next So Saffron layer measures 2 x 3 1/2.
• I have cut the leaves from the Flourishing Phrases thinlits using Cajun Craze, So Saffron, and Old Olive.  The Fine Tip Glue Pen is great to adhere these.
• The sentiment comes from Flourishing Phrases.  I stamped it in Versamark on Whisper White measuring 1 x 3.  Do you see the shine?  That's the new Copper Embossing Powder!   Some of the Copper Metallic Thread goes behind this and then dimensionals make it stand out a little.

For the inside, the sentiment come from the same stamp set.  I added another leaf in So Saffron.

 

I made this a thank you card, but I think it would work for any occasion.  The sentiments in the Flourishing Phrases stamp set are wonderful.  Look on page 49 in the annual catalog to see the set.  This is another card that used one stamp set and thinlit.  There are so many possibilities with this bundle.  Save 10%!

Birthday's are to be Celebrated!

My card today was inspired by Jason Loucks.  He had a similar card as part of our Color Fusers Blog Hop here.  For today, I challenged myself to use Calypso Coral.  It's not my favorite color, but I do love the By the Shore Designer Series Paper.  I love those rows of coral dots.  That's where I started when I began this card, with Jason's design and the patterned paper.  Here's the card.

• I started with a Very Vanilla card base cut 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, scored at 4 1/4 and folded.  On the front of the card, I cut off 1 inch at the bottom.

• The By the Shore paper, cut at 1 1/4 x 5 1/2, was placed at the bottom of this cut. The calypso curly piece was cut from the Cupcake Cutouts Framelits.  It is not long enough to reach from end to end.  Cut it so that your cupcake circles will hide the missing piece.
• The Very Vanilla circle and the Calypso Coral scalloped circle are cut using the Layering Circles Framelits.  When you adhere these, don't put your snail on the very bottom of the circles.  It hangs below the edge.
• The cupcake, from Sweet Cupcake, is a three step process.  The three stamps are numbered on the plastic sheets where you store your stamps.  Here is how I did it. For the top I started with the #3 stamp and used Blushing Bride stamped off. For #2, I stamped with Blushing Bride straight, and for #1 I used Calypso Coral. For the bottom, started with #1 in Basic Black Archival ink, #2 in Smokey Slate straight, and #3 in Smoky Slate stamped off.  Cut these out with the Cupcake Cutouts Framelits.  Stamp the candle and cut it out, too.  Use dimensionals on the cupcake pieces and the candle.
• The sentiment is from the Sweet Cupcake stamp set.  It shows when the card is closed and open.  
• I added the little curly stamps because I felt it needed a little something else. That's also why I added the sequins from the Metallics Sequin Assortment.

On the inside, the saying is also from Sweet Cupcake and the work sweet is part of the Cupcake Cutouts.

 

This makes a cute little birthday card with a little bit of a twist.  The best part is that it is made with a few colors of ink and one bundle.  The Sweet Cupcakes stamp set and the Cupcakes Cutouts can come together for a 10% savings.  You can even order from my store below!

Cookie Cutter Scarecrow is Too Cute!

Don't you just love the Cookie Cutter Halloween stamp set?  I do.  I think my favorite is that adorable scarecrow.  

 

It begs to be colored, but it's just enough to keep you happy, not overpowering and super time consuming.  I like using the Aqua Painter tool for this.  You just press the closed ink pad to get some ink in the lid.  It's quick and easy.  Be sure to clean the brush between colors by stroking it on paper until it runs clean.  Also, be sure to use the Basic Black Archival ink if you plan on using water.

There's also something about the Moroccan Designer Series Paper.  I love everything about it.  Some of the papers definitely scream fall to me.  Fall is my favorite time of year.  I'm really looking forward to some cooler temps.  Here in NC, it looks like we will be out of the 90's next week!

• The card base is Cajun Craze cut 4 1/4 x 11, scored at 5 1/2 and folded.
• I cut a piece of Very Vanilla 4 x 5 1/4.  I cut the vanilla oval I would need later out of the center.  I adhered the patterned paper to the rectangle left.  No one will see the hole in the middle.  This way, I can trim my paper so everything will be even.  I can't do that if I put the paper directly on the card base.  I try to measure acurately, but sometimes things are just a tiny bit off.  My papers measure, 1 1/2, 1, and 1 3/4.  They are all 5 1/4 inches long.  I placed the two end pieces and then the middle piece on top.  Before you adhere place your Thick Very Vanilla Twine around the center of the card.  A bow was added later using a glue dot.
• The oval and the scalloped oval are cut using the Layered Ovals Framelits.  I cut the scallop oval from Cajun Craze.  I stamped the spots on the vanilla using Gorgeous Grunge and Cajun Craze ink.  Adhere the two and then put it on dimensionals for the card.
• Stamp the scarecrow in archival black.  Allow that to dry.  I painted in the scarecrow using my Aqua Painter.  Be careful not to get too much water.  I used Cajun Craze, Delightful Dijon, and Sahara Sand.  Punch him out with the Cookie Cutter Builder Punch.  Adhere with dimensionals.

• The sentiment comes from the Crazy About You stamp set.  There is no A.  I simply stamped a word with an A in it and cut that out.  These words also have dimensionals on the back.

 

I used two stamp sets for the inside of the card.  The sentiment comes from Bunch of Blossoms and the plant is from A Gift from the Garden.  I thought that went with the scarecrow.
