Christmas Pines and a Little Copper

Here in North Carolina we are fortunate to have a Facebook group for Stampin' Up! demos.  If you are an NC Demo search for us on Facebook.  It's a closed group, but all you need is to be a NC resident and in good standing with SU.  From time to time we have get togethers, Quarterly, so we can learn and share and visit.  We had a Quarterly recently, but I was not able to attend.  Bummer!  But my friend Kaye was able to go and share with those of us who could not.  Kaye took part in a Christmas card swap and today I am going to share her swap card with you.  Thanks Kaye for sharing with us all!

This card is beautiful.  My picture does not do it justice.  Let me tell you how she made it.

  • The card base is Cherry Cobbler cut 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, scored at 4 1/4 and folded.
  • The Whisper White layer is 4 x 5 1/4.  It's embossed with the Pine Bough Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  That pairs just perfectly with the Christmas Pines stamp set.
  • Kaye used the Presents & Pinecones Designer Series Paper on the card.  It measures 2 1/4 x 4.  Adhere near the bottom of the card.
  • The panel in the middle of the card is Emerald Envy cut  2 3/4 x 4, and Whisper White cut 2 1/2 x 3 3/4.
  • Using Christmas Pines, stamp off the pine stamp in Emerald Envy and stamp on the upper left corner of the paper.
  • The Pretty Pines Thinlits dies are essential.  What I'm saying is that you need the whole bundle.  Cut pine boughs from Emerald Envy.
  • Now here is the star of the card.  The Copper Foil Sheets are used to cut the pine cones.  There are several different pine cones in the thinlit set.  Kaye used two of them.  Now wait.  She also added a Mini Pinecones trinket!  So, so cute.  The bow is made with Cherry Cobbler from the Baker's Twine Trio Pack.

  • The sentiment is from Christmas Pines.  It's stamped in cobbler on a 1/4 inch strip of white.  Notch the ends.

The inside of the card has a sentiment from Christmas Pines and more pine boughs stamped in the corner.

I love this card.  I think Kaye gave me this one to keep.  Let me just say, I'm keeping it. I'm sure those who received it in the swap are more than pleased. Let me thank Kaye again for sharing her card with us today.
