Golden Jar of Love Shaker Card

I love shaker cards.  Stampin' Up!'s new Foam Adhesive Strips make it so easy.  But I'm getting a little ahead of myself.  Here's the card for today.

Jar shaker card

This shaker has a bit of sparkle.  We all know someone who loves the glitter and glam. This card is for them!  Lori, are you reading this!  Here are the details on how to make this card.  Warning, there are quite a few steps!

  • Start with a card base of Basic Black measuring 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, scored at 4 1/4 and folded.
  • Add of layer from the Gold Foil Sheets measuing 4 x 5 1/4.  When I see someone use so much of the gold foil sheets, I immediately think about the cost of those sheets.  Here's a tip I have to save a little.  Use your Stampin' Trimmer to cut out the inside of the piece you are using.  You can use the center for another project.

Jar shaker layer of gold

  • Now you have a layer of Basic Black measuring 3 1/2 x 4 3/4.
  • Finally, you have a layer of the gold dots paper from the Pop of Pink Specialty Designer Series Paper.  The measures 3 3/8 x 4 5/8.
  • Using the Everyday Jar Framelits, cut the largest jar from the confetti gold piece of designer paper from the Pop of Pink Specialty DSP.
  • Also cut this jar from a Window Sheet.
  • Now stamp the jar using the Jar of Love stamp set.  Stamp with Basic Black Archival ink onto Whisper White card stock.  Cut the outside and the inside of the stamped image using the Everyday Jar Framelits.
  • Adhere the Foam Adhesive Strips around the outside of the confetti piece as close to the edge as possible.
  • Add in your confetti from the Metallics Sequin Assortment.
  • Take off the top of the adhesive strips and adhere the top of the jar to the bottom.  Be very careful as you place the two together so you can match them properly.
  • Adhere the jar to your card front.  I suggest you use Fast Fuse or the Tear & Tape adhesive.
  • Stamp the lid with Basic Black Archival ink onto a piece of gold foil scrap.  Cut this out with the framelits.  I suggest that you let it dry just a little first.  Adhere to the top of your jar.

Jar shaker close up of tag

  • For the tag, I used the "You" from the Hello You Thinlits.  I cut it from Basic Black card stock and then colored it with the Wink of Stella.  It needed its own bit of glam.
  • The sentiment if from the Jar of Love stamp set.
  • Glue the "You" on just above the saying.  Use your Fine-Tip Glue Pen for this.
  • I used the Lots of Labels Framelit set to cut out the tag.
  • Add a few sequins.  I choose black ones.
  • Add a bow using the Black Solid Baker's Twine.
  • I used the new Black Metallic Thread behind the tag to add a little more interest.
  • Use dimensionals on the back of the tag.

Jar shaker inside

The sentiment on the inside of the card is from Gift of Love.  It's a Host set.  I added some sequins around the words.

Jar of Love for the NC Demo Blog Hop

Welcome to the NC Blog Hop.  If you've been on the hop, you just came from Tamra's blog.  I'm sure you enjoyed her post.  Today we are featuring our favorite new stamp set from the new 2016-2017 catalog.  That's a tall order!  How do you pick from such a great offering?  I must say I love this catalog!

Blog hop NC

I have chosen to showcase the Jar of Love bundle.  The Jar of Love stamp set and the Everyday Jars Framelit set offer so many options to us.  Mason jars are so popular now, but there are other options with this set.  One of the best things is that you can purchase the two as a bundle and save 10%!  My first card does show the jar.

June blog hop bug card

In our area of the Piedmont of NC, these bugs are called lightning bugs.  I remember some wonderful summer childhood days in pursuit of these bugs.  Here are the details for this card.

  • The card base is Delightful Dijon card stock.
  • The next layer is Dapper Denim measuring 3 3/4 x 5.
  • The Whisper White layer measures 3 5/8 x 4 7/8.
  • The the largest jar from Jar of Love onto the sheet of patterned paper full of Delightful Dijon dots.  You can find this in the Serene Scenery Designer Series Paper stack.  Stamp in Basic Black Archival ink.  Cut out the jar with the Everyday Jar Framelits.
  • Stamp the handle for the jar on Whisper White in black and cut out with the framelits.
  • Stamp the bow on Whisper White in Dapper Denim and cut out with the framelits.
  • Stamp the lid in black on a scrap of Gold Foil Sheets and cut out with the framelits.
  • Stamp the lightning bugs on your jar.  Make it look like the dijon circles are part of the glow.
  • Assemble all of the pieces and attach to the white layer.
  • Punch the banner from Delightful Dijon using the new Duet Banner punch. Stamp the sentiment on white and cut the words apart.  Glue to the banner and attach to the card.
  • For the bugs on the background, stamp the bugs where you want them.  I punched some of the dijon circles from the patterned paper using the 1/2 inch circle punch.  Stamp the back of the bug on the circle.  Match the circle to the bug you stamped on the background and adhere.
  • The little circles stamped on the background are from the stamp set Bunch of Blossoms.

June blog hop inside bug card

The sentiment on the inside is from Bunch of Blossoms.  I also added a few lightning bugs inside.

Here is my second card.  No jar on this one!

June blog hop spray of flowers

  • Start with a card base of Pool Party.
  • The Whisper White layer measures 3 7/8 x 5 1/8.
  • The patterned paper again comes from the Serene Scenery Designer Series Paper stack.  It measures 3 3/4 x 5.
  • I stamped the tiny leaves from Jar of Love in Always Artichoke onto the patterned paper.
  • Add 1/2 of one of the new Delicate White Doilies near the bottom of the card.
  • For the spray of flowers I used the Everyday Jar Framelits to cut out several of the long leaves in Old Olive card stock.  I also stamped some of these on white in Old Olive ink and cut those out.  When you place these on the card, you can make some of these stems appear longer by placing one behind the other.  I cut the Soft Suede circles piece using the Flourish Framelits.  The flowers are from the Jar of Love.  It is a two stamp process.  This stamp stamps two flowers at once and cuts them both out at once.  For the solid flowers, use Sweet Sugarplum ink and stamp it off first.  Then add the details with Rich Razzleberry ink.  All I can tell you now is to play with your pieces until you have them the way you want them.
  • Add a bow stamped in Rich Razzleberry.
  • Stamp the sentiment in Rich Razzleberry and cut out with the Tags and Labels Framelits.  I punched a hole with the 1/8 inch hand held circle punch and added a bit of Linen Thread.

June blog hop spray of flowers inside

The sentiment on the inside is from Thankful Thoughts and is stamped in Rich Razzleberry.  I used more flowers on the inside, too.

Thanks for coming by today.  Come back on Wednesday for another Jar of Love card with a little glam!  Next on the hop is Tracie.  I know you will enjoy her projects.  My list of supplies follows the list on name for the hop!

Stylized Birthday for the Paper Craft Crew #PCCCS200

  • I love the Pop of Pink Specialty Designer Series Paper.  I must admit that I'm in love with Stampin' Up! designer paper.  I'm a bit of a hoarder.  I love the paper. I hate to cut it.  Anyone of you feel that way?  The results make that act of actually cutting worth it.  I saw the sketch for the Paper Craft Crew and my mind started turning.  I needed to use that Pop of Pink paper!

I love the elements of this design.  Here's my card.

  Stylized birthday front

Here are the details on how to make this card.

  • The card base is Melon Mambo card stock cut at 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, scored at 4 1/4 and folded.  Get a good crisp fold using your Bone Folder.
  • The next layer is Whisper White card stock cut at 4 x 5 1/4.
  • Now we have a layer of the mambo diagonal stripe from the Pop of Pink Specialty Designer Series Paper cut at 3 7/8 x 5 1/8.
  • There's another layer of Whisper White cut at 2 5/8 x 3 7/8.
  • Now another piece of the Pop of Pink paper in a black herringbone cut at 2 1/2 x 3 3/4.
  • Cut a piece of the gold confetti paper from the Pop of Pink.  Only a little of this sticks out so I cut it at 1 1/2 x 2 3/4.  A part of the lower right corner will be hidden by the circle.
  • Adhere all of these layers.  The smaller rectangle is placed just a little left of center to help with placement of the circle.
  • Ink the Stylized Birthday stamp with Versamark, but first, rub your Whisper White with the Embossing Buddy.  Stamp and then coat with the gold Stampin' Emboss Powder.  Heat with the Heat Tool.  Cut out using the Layering Circles Framelits.
  • I used a few small pieces of patterned paper behind the circle.  They measure 3/4 x 3 3/4. I placed these where I thought they looked good and adhered them to the back of the circle.  The circle is attached with dimensionals.
  • The little sentiment comes from the stamp set Sunshine Sayings.  It's also embossed in gold.  After heating, I just cut along the sides with my Paper Snips and notched the end.  I put a dimensional near the notched end and slipped it under the circle.

Stylized birthday close up

It's all pretty simple.  For the inside, I used a saying from the Watercolor Wishes stamp set.  It's included in the Watercolor Wishes kit!  I also embossed this in gold.

Stylized birthday inside

Do you ever have little pieces of designer paper that you just can't throw away?  Did I say I might be a paper hoarder?  On a whim I put some of these strips around my sentiment.  I stuck them on and then trimmed them to fit on the paper.  I think it turned out nicely.

Stylized birthday final

I hope you liked the card today.  It just might show up in my class in July!  Feel free to follow me on Pinterest here.  My supplies are listed at the end of the post.  Click on anything you need and it will take you directly to my online store.  Thanks for looking!

Stampin' Up! Bingo Make & Takes and #GDP041

On Monday, I shared with you some pictures of my Stampin' Up! Bingo event this past Saturday.  It was so much fun!  If you want to see this post go here.

I was already planning to post these projects and then I saw the challenge from Global Design Project for the week.  It is a color challenge using Night of Navy, Whisper White, and Sweet Sugarplum.  I had to enter.

The first Make & Take is a treat holder.

Bingo pretzel m&t

In the new catalog, Stampin' Up! has a 2 x 8 Cellophane Bag.  I filled it with 4 yogurt covered pretzels and stapled it shut with my Handheld Stapler.  Cut a piece of Night of Navy card stock 2 1/4 x 3 and scored at 1 1/2 on the 3 inch side.  Crease with a Bone Folder.  For the tag, I stamped Just For You from the You're So Sweet stamp set onto Thick Whisper White card stock.  I used Night of Navy ink.  Cut this out using your Paper Snips.  Using Swirly Birds, I stamped a small flower on scrap Whisper White and cut it out with the Swirly Scribbles thinlit set.  I also cut out a leaf from Cucumber Crush card stock.  Adhere the two to the tag with a dimensional.

Bingo pretzel tag

Have you seen the new Gold Binder Clips on page 177 of the catalog?  So cute!  I used the clip to attach everything together.   To finish the project, I tied a bow using the Sweet Sugarplum ruched ribbon. It's an easy treat to make.

My second Make & Take comes from Debbie Henderson.  She had this bag on her blog about 2 weeks ago.  If you want to see her post go here.  She'll have all of the measurements for you.  One bag takes two 6 x 6 sheets of paper.  It's perfect for the 6 x 6 paper stacks, but I wanted to stay with my Night of Navy, white, and Sweet Sugarplum decor.  To tell the truth, it was always about the Floral Boutique Designer Series Paper!  I just love it!

Bingo M&T bag

My heart goes pit a pat when I see this Night of Navy and Whisper White with Cucumber Crush!  It makes me happy!  To make the bag, I suggest looking at Debbie Henderson's video.  The only thing I changed on the basic bag construction was the tie.  I cut the string (I used the Whisper White Thick Baker's Twine) a few inches longer.  Instead of tying knots in each end of the string once threaded through the holes, I tied the ends together to make a big circle.  This was to make sure the string did not pull through the holes.

Bingo bag string

For the decoration on the front,  I started with by stamping the sentiment from the Bunch of Blossoms stamp set in Night of Navy on Whisper White.  I cut it out using the new Layering Circles framelits.  I cut out a frame for this using a scalloped circle from the same framelit set.  Attach them together with snail and then attach to the bag with dimensionals.  I added a bow using the Cucumber Crush Thick Baker's Twine.  Attach with a glue dot.  The leaves are also cut from Cucumber Crush using the Flourish Thinlits.  Use the Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere.  The little flower is stamped from the Jar of Love stamp set.  I stamped first with Sweet Sugarplum, stamping off first.  Then I stamped with Sweet Sugarplum full force for the second layer.  Cut the flower out with the Everyday Jars Framelits. This actually stamps two flowers and cuts out 2 flowers.  Attach the flower with dimensionals.

Bingo bag side

I thought these items turned out great!

Here are all of the items again.  I'm planning on having another Bingo event when we get the holiday catalog!  Look below for the products I used.  They go right to my online store.  Follow me on Pinterest here.

Stampin' Up! Bingo

I love Bingo.  Someday, when I'm in a nursing home, I'll be perfectly happy on Bingo days.  I just hope I'll be able to hear B 12 or O 67 when called.  Loss of hearing runs in the family.  I'll have to sit up close.  This past Saturday, I was hostess to an afternoon of Bingo.  These prizes were good.  No, these prizes were awesome!  Awesome because all of the prizes were brand new product from the 2016-2017 Stampin' Up! catalog!  Sixteen eager players had the chance to win stamp sets and bundles!  Yes, I said bundles!  We had so much fun!

Bingo seat gift

Each person had a gift at her seat.  These are the new Delicate White Doilies.  I added some decor at the top.  I used a 4 1/2  x 8 piece of Night of Navy.  I scored it at 4 on the 8 inch side and folded it around the top.  I folded a doily and adhered it to the front and back.  I used the new Layering Circles Framelits to cut out the sentiment for the front.  Stamp first.  The sentiment is from the Bunch of Blossoms stamp set.  That set really has some great sayings!  I also cut a scalloped circle from the Night of Navy card stock.  I am loving how how the circles and scallops nest together in this new framelit set.  Adhere using dimensionals.  There is a part of the circle that extends over the fold.  No dimensionals there, OK.  I finished off the gift with a bow made from the new Sweet Sugarplum ruched ribbon.  It ties so nicely.  You need that ribbon.  It's on back order right now, but it's coming soon.

I also made pretty name tents for everyone.

Bingo name tag

These were cut from Night of Navy card stock and measures the same as the topper for the doilies and scored the same.  I added a 1 3/4 x 4 piece of the Floral Boutique Designer Series Paper.  Names were printed from my computer onto Whisper White card stock.  I stamped some flowers and leaves using the Swirly Bird stamp set and then cut it all out with my snips.  I used the Floral Boutique Designer Washi Tape to adhere the name.  The flowers are in Sweet Sugarplum ink and the leaves are in Cucumber Crush ink.  Cute!

I would like to share some pictures from my event.
