March Southern Belles' Swap Cards

On Friday, I shared with you my March swap for a local demonstrator group called the Southern Belles.  I used the Pyramid Pals bundle and made this card.

Elephant 2

I think the group liked it.  The other cards were great!  I want to share them with you.  We have talented people in this group!

March Belle's swap Tina

This is Tina's card.  Tina used only Blushing Bride on her card, but look at how striking it is.  She used the Happy Hearts embossing folder for her background.  You may think that Valentines is over and the Bloomin' Heart Thinlits Die should be put away until next year.  No. Tina's card is a Mother's Day card.  Hearts are appropriate.  We love our mamas.  This card is lovely!

March Belle's swap Martha

Martha's card is further proof that the Bloomin' Heart die still has purpose.  Weddings are a perfect excuse to use this die.  Martha cut the heart from Whisper White cardstock, got all of the pieces out and then placed it back in the hole that was made with a Tip Top cardstock background shining through.  Did you notice the Wink of Stella used on the flowers?  Beautiful!

March Belle's swap Kaye

This card was made by Kaye.  She wanted me to make sure and give Amy Koenders credit for this card. Stampers do case from others! Thank goodness everything doesn't have to be original.  Why reinvent the wheel?  This card just makes me happy.  Spring is coming!  I love the flowers.  Kaye used the In the Meadow stamp set.

You can see that we all look forward to meeting each other.  We want those swaps!  Want to join us?  You need to be a Stampin' Up! demo and want to meet at the Wendy's in Granite Falls, NC on the first Tuesday of each month.  It's right on Hwy 321 near Walmart.  Contact me if you are interested.  Not a demo?  I would love to have you on my Luv 2 Create team.  Ask me about it.  Now is the perfect time to purchase the starter kit.  You get $155 in product for $99.  Now that's a deal!  Contact me.

Thanks for the visit.  A new post will go up on Wednesday.  You'll want to see it!

An Elephant for Your Birthday!

When I first opened the Occasions catalog, I saw the Pyramid Pals stamp set and said no.  There were just too many pieces, and it was a little intimidating.  I do like to make 3D items, but it all just looked hard.  But now, I've seen a lot of samples using the set, and I earned a half price item with my order.  So I made the leap.  I made a chick for Easter in an earlier post.  Now I wanted to make a card.

Elephant 2

I started with a base of So Saffron cardstock cut at 8 1/2  x 5 1/2 and folded in half. I added a layer of Basic Gray cut at 4 x 5 1/4.  The sentiment is from the Suite Sayings stamp set.  I stamped it in Versamark and embossed it with white embossing powder.  The elephant was stamped in Basic Gray ink onto Basic Gray cardstock.  The stamp set is called Playful Pals.  There is a little trick to the ears. The ears are mirror images so for one of them, you must cut it out and then stamp it. That's pretty easy because the stamp set is photopolymer.  Use the Pyramid Pals Thinlits Dies.  Now is a good time to mention that the stamp set and thinlits go together in a bundle.  That means 15% off when you buy them both.  The icing on the cake is that you would also qualify for a Sale-a-Bration item.  The eyes were stamped in Basic Gray on Whisper White cardstock, cut out with the thinlits, and mounted using dimensionals.

Elephant head

The elephant is holding a balloon.  The string is Whisper White Baker's Twine. Under the snout, it's attached with a dimensional and then it goes up to the balloon punched from the Everyday Chic Designer Series Paper using the Balloon Bouquet punch.  The balloon is attached with dimensionals also.  The hearts were colored in with the So Saffron Stampin' Write marker.

Elephant head 2

The elephant needed to pop so I attached him to a circle of saffron stripes.  The patterned paper comes from the Subtles Designer Series Paper Stack.  I used the Circles Collection Framelits to cut the circle.  Finish the card with a white bow and a few sequins.

Elephant inside

For the inside of the card, I used a sentiment from the Perfect Pairings stamp set. It's one of the Sale-a-Bration items you can pick for free with a qualifying order. You can see just a little peek of the elephant's tail.  I think he's racing to the birthday cake!  I'm liking the Pyramid Pals bundle and you will, too!

Thanks for visiting my blog today.  Leave me a comment if you wish.  I would love that!  See you on Monday!
