I'm not a pink person. In fact, the Brights family is my last go to. But I must say that the Melon Mambo diagonal stripe in the It's My Party Designer Series Paper Stack kept calling to me. I knew it could make a striking card, and it did. Today, I'm featuring the Pedal Pushers stamp set. It's one of the Sale-a-Bration items available for free until March 31st. I've managed to sneak in a couple other Sale-a-Bration sets, too.
I started with a Melon Mambo card base cut at 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, scored and folded at 4 1/4. I then added a layer of Basic Black cardstock measuring 3 5/8 x 4 7/8. Then comes a layer of the It's My Party patterned paper cut at 3 1/2 x 4 3/4. I also added a strip of designer paper measuring 3/4 x 4 7/8.
The bicycle was stamped on a piece of Whisper White cardstock using Basic Black Archival ink. I'll be using a Blender Pen and an Aqua Painter so this is the best ink to use. The white cardstock measures 2 1/4 x 3 1/8 and it is adhered to a Basic Black cardstock base 2 3/8 x 3 1/4. I colored the bike using Melon Mambo, Crumb Cake, Cucumber Crush, and Marina Mist and a Blender Pen. The background was colored using an Aqua Painter. For both of these methods, press your closed pad. When you open it, there will be ink in the lid ready for you to use. Use dimensionals to put this panel on the card.
Party Pants is one of the stamp sets added to the Sale-a-Bration offerings. I used this set for the sentiment on the front. It's stamped in black ink on Whisper White and punched out with the Large Oval Punch. I also punched out black cardstock with the Scallop Oval Punch and layered the two. Melon Mambo candy dots finish off the look.
Does this ever happen to you? I had already stamped the back of my bike and colored everything and then just look at my sentiment. What a disaster! But it's also an opportunity to be a little creative. Here's what I did.
This sentiment is from Botanicals for You, another Sale-a-Bration item. The stamp has 3 little dots at the front. I didn't want that so I covered that part with tape before I stamped.
I do like my card, but do you ever second guess yourself? While I was typing this post, I just happened to glanced down to see a black piece of patterned paper from the It's My Party stack. Hmmm. So I changed out the strip of paper behind the bike. What do you think? Which do you like best? Leave a comment and let me know!
Sale-a-Bration will be over soon. Don't lose out. A list of supplies follows. I'd be happy to have you order from me. Thanks for sharing your day with me. I hope to see you on Friday.
