It's My Party Birthday
March 27, 2016
Welcome to the NC Demonstator Blog Hop for March and Happy Easter! I'm so glad you are joining us.
Maybe you have heard about a movement started by Shannon West. It's called #imbringingbirthdaysback. Shannon is an employee of Stampin' Up! Even though we can tell someone Happy Birthday on Facebook. It's really not that personal. Wouldn't you love to get a beautiful hand made card in the mail for your birthday? It shows that someone really took time for you. They made a card, wrote in it, stamped it, and put it in the mail. They really thought about you! Shannon has even made up a stamp and Stampin' Up! is producing it!
This stamp is available! The number is 143573. You just might want to order it and become part of the movement!
In honor of this movement, I'll be having a class on April 7th, 8th, or 9th that's all about birthdays. Today I'll be sharing some of the cards we will make. I'll have 6 cards available to make. Each participant will make 8 cards so they will make 2 of some of the cards. Extras will be available if they really want to build up a stock pile. I can't wait for this class. Let me know if you are interested in more information.
Here are 4 of the cards for the class. Have you seen the It's My Party Designer Series Paper Stack in the Occasions catalog? Wow! There are 48 sheets of 12 x 12 patterned paper, 4 sheets of 12 double sided designs. For each of these cards I was able to make the sample and then cut out enough to make 23 additional cards of the design. There is still a lot of paper left in the stack to make other designs. All I can say again is WOW!
This card starts out with a card base of Melon Mambo. The Whisper White layer measures 3 3/4 x 5. Then, we have a layer of Mint Macaron measuring 3 1/8 x 4 3/8. The designer paper pieces on each side are 1 1/4 x 3. The middle piece patterned paper measures 1 1/2 x 3. The mambo baker's twine comes in a 2 pack along with macaron twine. The sentiment is stamped in Basic Black Archival ink on Whisper White. The tag is 3/4" wide and is notched using the Hexagon Punch. The sentiment is from the Watercolor Wishes stamp set. A Melon Mambo candy dot from the Brights collection finishes off the card.
This card starts with a card base of Mint Macaron. The It's My Party paper is cut at 4 x 5 1/4. I made a strip of Whisper White measuring 1 7/8 x 4. The sentiment is stamped with Mint Macaron ink. It's from the stamp set Happy Birthday, Everyone. That's one of the Host sets in the back of the Annual catalog. I made a banner at the top 1 1/2 x 2 1/4. I notched the end with the Triple Banner Punch. Using the Builder Bouquet punch and Melon Mambo cardstock, I punched a small balloon. Use dimensionals to adhere the balloon. I used white baker's twine for the string and a bow. The little shine mark on the balloon was made with a gel pen.
This card has a Thick Whisper White card base. The patterned paper is cut at 4 x 5 1/4. A Basic Black panel is cut at 2 x 5 1/4. The It's My Party paper measures 1 3/4 x 5 1/4. The sentiment here is stamped with Basic Black Archival ink on Whisper White. It's punched out with the Label Bracket punch and adhered with dimensionals. I used the stamp set Tag Talk. Using the Balloon Bouquet punch, I punched a patterned large balloon. It also goes on with dimensionals. I used only the black part of the twine between the balloon and the sentiment.
This card also has a base of Thick Whisper White. The Bermuda Bay layer is 3 5/8 x 4 7/8. The white dot patterned paper is cut at 3 1/2 x 4 3/4. The striped paper is not from It's My Party. It comes from the Brights Paper Stack and is cut at 1 x 3 1/2. The ice cream cone is made using the Sprinkles of Life stamp set and the Tree Builder punch. I used Blushing Bride, Crumb Cake, Bermuda Bay, and Soft Suede card stock. I tied a piece of the 1/8 inch Bermuda Bay Stitched Ribbon. Isn't it cute! The sentiment is from Sprinkles of Life on a 1/4 inch piece of white cardstock and notched.
These cards are pretty simple. I know we'll enjoy making them. Please come back on Wednesday and see the other cards we will make. I'll have a list of supplies after the list of names from the hop.
I hope you will continue on with the blog hop. Next up is Amy. she is so talented! I know you will see some great projects!
