It's My Party! Two More Cards

Hello.  Did you enjoy the NC Demo Blog Hop on Monday?  If you missed it, you might want to check it out here!  There were some great projects.

On my last post I shared 4 birthday cards made featuring the It's My Party Designer Series Paper Stack.  Today I have two more to share.

April birthday cards

These two cards, along with the cards from my last post, round out my April birthday stamp a stack class.  We will be ready to celebrate birthdays with a beautiful hand stamped card!  We will remind people that they are a truly special part of our lives. They are more important than just a quick Facebook Happy B'day.  Smiles, I anticipate smiles!

It's My Party birthday 2

  • Start with a card base of Sahara Sand cut 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, scored at 4 1/4 and folded in half.
  • The Melon Mambo layer is cut 3 1/2 x 4 3/4.
  • The patterned paper, It's My Party balloons, is cut 3 3/8 x 4 5/8.
  • The balloons are punched using various designs of the It's My Party stack.  This uses the larger balloon on the Balloon Bouquet punch.  They are adhered with dimensionals.
  • I used the Mint Macaron twine from the Baker's Twine Combo  Pack for the strings on the balloon and a bow.
  • The sentiment on the front is from Honeycomb Hello, stamped in Basic Black Archival ink, and punched out with the Banner Punch.  Isn't that too cute! Adhere it with a dimensional, too.  Did you see that it's stamped on more of the It's My Party paper?

It's My Party inside 2

The sentiment on the inside is stamped in Basic Black Archival ink and is from the Amazing Birthday set.  I punched out tiny balloons from Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry, and Mint Macaron cardstock.  I used the balloon punch from the Party Punch Pack.

It's My Party birthday 3

  • This card starts with a base of Crushed Curry.  It's the same standard size of the card above.
  • All of the papers on this card are from It's My Party.  The top piece measures 2 1/2 x 5 1/4.  The bottom piece is 1 1/2 x 5 1/4.  The band is 1/2 x 5 1/4.
  • The Balloon Framelits were used to cut a balloon in Melon Mambo and another in Mint Macaron.  Linen Thread is used for the strings and a bow of mambo cotton ribbon is added.
  • The sentiment here is from the Celebrate Today set and is stamped in Melon Mambo ink.  I just used scraps for this and notched the ends with the Hexagon Punch.

It's My Party inside 1

The sentiment on the inside is from Watercolor Wishes, stamped in mambo ink.  A strip of patterned paper is added on the inside of the card, too.

Before I finish today, I would like to wish my husband John a wonderful anniversary. We have been married 41 years today.  I love that man!

Come back and see me on Friday.  I'll look forward to seeing you!

It's My Party Birthday

Welcome to the NC Demonstator Blog Hop for March and Happy Easter!  I'm so glad you are joining us.

Maybe you have heard about a movement started by Shannon West.  It's called #imbringingbirthdaysback.  Shannon is an employee of Stampin' Up!  Even though we can tell someone Happy Birthday on Facebook.  It's really not that personal.  Wouldn't you love to get a beautiful hand made card in the mail for your birthday?  It shows that someone really took time for you.  They made a card, wrote in it, stamped it, and put it in the mail.  They really thought about you!  Shannon has even made up a stamp and Stampin' Up! is producing it!

Imbringingbirthdaysback stamp

This stamp is available!  The number is 143573.  You just might want to order it and become part of the movement!

In honor of this movement, I'll be having a class on April 7th, 8th, or 9th that's all about birthdays. Today I'll be sharing some of the cards we will make.  I'll have 6 cards available to make.  Each participant will make 8 cards so they will make 2 of some of the cards.  Extras will be available if they really want to build up a stock pile. I can't wait for this class.  Let me know if you are interested in more information.

April Birthday class .

Here  are 4 of the cards for the class.  Have you seen the It's My Party Designer Series Paper Stack in the Occasions catalog?  Wow!  There are 48 sheets of 12 x 12 patterned paper, 4 sheets of 12 double sided designs.  For each of these cards I was able to make the sample and then cut out enough to make 23 additional cards of the design. There is still a lot of paper left in the stack to make other designs.  All I can say again is WOW!

It's My Party birthday 5

This card starts out with a card base of Melon Mambo.  The Whisper White layer measures 3 3/4 x 5. Then, we have a layer of Mint Macaron measuring 3 1/8 x 4 3/8. The designer paper pieces on each side are 1 1/4 x 3.  The middle piece patterned paper measures 1 1/2 x 3.  The mambo baker's twine comes in a 2 pack along with macaron twine.  The sentiment is stamped in Basic Black Archival ink on Whisper White.  The tag is 3/4" wide and is notched using the Hexagon Punch.  The sentiment is from the Watercolor Wishes stamp set.  A Melon Mambo candy dot from the Brights collection finishes off the card.

It's My Party birthday 4

This card starts with a card base of Mint Macaron.  The It's My Party paper is cut at 4 x 5 1/4.  I made a strip of Whisper White measuring 1 7/8 x 4.  The sentiment is stamped with Mint Macaron ink.  It's from the stamp set Happy Birthday, Everyone. That's one of the Host sets in the back of the Annual catalog.  I made a banner at the top 1 1/2 x 2 1/4.  I notched the end with the Triple Banner Punch.  Using the Builder Bouquet punch and Melon Mambo cardstock, I punched a small balloon.  Use dimensionals to adhere the balloon.  I used white baker's twine for the string and a bow.  The little shine mark on the balloon was made with a gel pen.

It's My Party birthday 1

This card has a Thick Whisper White card base.  The patterned paper is cut at 4 x 5 1/4.  A Basic Black panel is cut at 2 x 5 1/4.  The It's My Party paper measures 1 3/4 x 5 1/4.  The sentiment here is stamped with Basic Black Archival ink on Whisper White. It's punched out with the Label Bracket punch and adhered with dimensionals.  I used the stamp set Tag Talk.  Using the Balloon Bouquet punch, I punched a patterned large balloon.  It also goes on with dimensionals.  I used only the black part of the twine between the balloon and the sentiment.

It's My Party birthday 6

This card also has a base of Thick Whisper White.  The Bermuda Bay layer is 3 5/8 x  4 7/8.  The white dot patterned paper is cut at 3 1/2 x 4 3/4.  The striped paper is not from It's My Party.  It comes from the Brights Paper Stack and is cut at 1 x 3 1/2.  The ice cream cone is made using the Sprinkles of Life stamp set and the Tree Builder punch.  I used Blushing Bride, Crumb Cake, Bermuda Bay, and Soft Suede card stock. I tied a piece of the 1/8 inch Bermuda Bay Stitched Ribbon.  Isn't it cute!  The sentiment is from Sprinkles of Life on a 1/4 inch piece of white cardstock and notched.

These cards are pretty simple.  I know we'll enjoy making them.  Please come back on Wednesday and see the other cards we will make.  I'll have a list of supplies after the list of names from the hop.

I hope you will continue on with the blog hop.  Next up is Amy.  she is so talented!  I know you will see some great projects!

Don't You Love a Black Stripe?

I have seen several cards made using the beautiful black and vanilla stripe from the Timeless Elegance Designer Series Paper.  Something about that paper is just, well, I'll say it, timeless and elegant.  I had to try a card of my own.

Botanical card front stripe

I'm pairing the patterned paper with the Botanical Blooms stamp set and the Botanical Builder Framelit Dies.  Here's the details.

  • Use a card base of Basic Black cardstock cut at 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, scored at 4 1/4 and folded.
  • The Timeless Elegance paper is cut 4 x 5 1/4 and adhered.
  • The sentiment is from the Tin of Cards stamp set and stamped in Basic Black Archival ink.
  • Cut the largest flower framelit with Lost Lagoon cardstock.  Sponge around the outside with Lost Lagoon ink.  Cut the largest center from Basic Black cardstock.  The center piece is from the It's My Party Enamel Dots.  The color is Mint Macaron, but it looks great.
  • The two smaller flowers are cut using Pool Party.  You'll need to cut 4 because they are doubled.  Sponge around these with Pool Party ink.  Add a smaller enamel dots to each of these flowers.
  • The leaves are cut from Wild Wasabi cardstock.  Stamp them with the coordinating stamp in Wild Wasabi and sponge around them too.

Botanical stripe close up too

Arrange these elements to suits and adhere to the card front.

Botanical stripe inside too

The sentiment on the inside is from Suite Sayings in the Occasions catalog.  Of course another flower must go inside. This time, using the 1/4 circle punch, a center of Mint Macaron was added to the flower so the card would be a little flatter.  I love this card and the whole Botanicals bundle, don't you?

Thanks so much for joining me today.  Leave a comment if you please.  I would love that!  I hope that you'll check back in on Friday.

Stampin' Up! Only Challenge #144 Welcome Spring!

Today I am going to accept the challenge at SUO Challenge #144 Welcome Spring and their spring theme.

Hello Spring

I made a card using the Flower Bouquet die from the annual catalog.  This die has long been neglected, and it was time to pull it out.

Here's how to make this beautiful card.

  • Start with a card base of Very Vanilla cut at 4 1/4 x 11, scored at 5 1/2 and folded.
  • The layers are as follows:  Watermelon Wonder is 3 3/4 x 5 . Going Places Designer Series Paper is 3 5/8 x 4 7/8.  Very Vanilla is 3 x 3.  Watermelon Wonder is 2 7/8 x 2 7/8.  Going Places DSP is 2 3/4 x 2 3/4.
  • The sentiment is from the stamp set Circle of Spring.  I stamped it with Watermelon Wonder on Very Vanilla, hand cut the words and then mounted them on Watermelon Wonder.  I cut that out by hand and attached them with dimensionals.
  • I cut the flower petals from the smallest petal of the Flower Bouquet die.  Five petals were cut out of Watermelon Wonder and 3 from Cucumber Crush.  I stamped these with the corresponding color and the leaf vein stamp from Botanical Blooms.  I also used a sponge dauber and sponged around each petal and leaf.
  • These petal shapes have a slit at the bottom.  Curl the petals with your bone folder.  Use your glue gun to glue one slit side over the other and give the petal some depth.  I glue gunned the petals around a 3/4 inch circle.  Then I glued the leaves behind the flower.
  • I cut about 8 or 9 of the flower centers using So Saffron.  I folded them in half and kind of bunched them up from there.  I used the glue gun to glue in the bottoms.

Hello Spring close up

This card is not one that you would want to mail.  But when you give it in person, you can see the smile on the face of your recipient.
