Say It Isn't So, In Colors, Don't Go!
February 29, 2016
Welcome to the NC Demo Blog Hop. You've just come from Kitty's blog. Great projects! This month we are featuring the five In Colors that will be retiring soon.
Hello Honey, Mossy Meadow, Tangelo Twist, Blackberry Bliss, and Lost Lagoon will officially retire on May 31st. If past years are any indication, they may well be sold out way before that date. They are beautiful vibrant colors, and they will be missed. We are also featuring products from the Occasions catalog. While there may be some items that are carried over to the next catalog, most will not. The Occasions catalog will retire May 31st.
To highlight these products, I've made 4 Mini Treat Bags with a coordinating note inside. All of the bags use the Going Places Designer Series Paper Stack and a lot of other products from the Occasions catalog.
The bags are made using the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits from the Annual catalog. It takes 1 and 1/2 sheets of the patterned paper from the 6 X 6 paper stack. Use Tear & Tape to adhere the bag so that it is good and strong. The note card in each bag are cut 3 1/2 X 5 from Very Vanilla cardstock. Each note card is embellished with a clothespin covered in patterned paper. Just put a strip of Tear & Tape on the clothespin and adhere the paper cut at 5/16 x 1 1/2. Trim the ends to fit. Add a bow with a glue dot. All of the bags are for birthdays. Warning! Lots of pictures follow.
This bag uses the stamp set Beautiful Ride. Don't you just love the little dog in the window? Yes, this bag needed a lot of fussy cutting, but it's worth it. The bag itself is the Lost Lagoon color. I used the Balloon Bouquet Punch to punch balloons from Hello Honey and Blackberry Bliss cardstock. I used Linen Thread to attach the balloons to the car and for the bow. The birthday sentiment on the front is from Rose Wonder and the inside sentiment is from Birthday Blooms. Looks like some of the balloons are getting away on the note card.
This bag uses Mossy Meadow patterned paper. It features the Number of Years stamp set and the Large Numbers Framelits Dies. You can get these as a bundle and save 15%. I used all 5 of the In Colors for this bag and note. The "TO YOU" comes from the Crazy About You stamp set in the Annual catalog. I used the Very Vanilla Thick Baker's Twine for the bows. I pulled it apart so that it would not be so thick. I also used the Circles Collection Framelits for this project.
This treat bag features the Rose Wonder stamp set and the Rose Garden Thinlits Dies, also available as a bundle saving 15%. The Hello Honey rose is mounted on paper from the Botanical Gardens Designer Series Paper and then cut out. The leaves are stamped on Mossy Meadow cardstock and cut out too. You can't tell from the picture, but I pinched the leaves a little so they would stand up. All is adhered using dimensionals. The "for you" is cut from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits. The bow uses the Venetian Crochet Trim.
This treat bag features balloons punch with the Balloon Bouquet punch in all of the In Colors. Do you see the Blackberry Bliss twine? I used the Blackberry Bliss pad and a sponge to color Whisper White Baker's Twine. It's really pretty easy to do, but maybe a little messy. The bows on this project are also a little different. I cut the thin blackberry row of color from the Blackberry Bliss 5/8" Striped Cotton Ribbon. I just needed a thin ribbon for this. The balloons are highlighted with the gel pen. I did add the highlights to the balloon for the note card inside after I took all of my pictures.
Here are the four bags all together. We will definitely hate saying good bye to these great colors. It's been a good run. The Occasions catalog is filled with great sets. Love, love, love!
Don't forget to continue on our NC Demo blog hop. We all have great projects to share! My list of supplies follows the list of names. Amy is next. She is always full of great ideas! Thanks so much for visiting with me. This post will serve as my Wednesday post. See you again on Friday.

Jo Anne - as usual I am in love with your cards! I love that little bag framelit and I love how you used it for the envelope. You know, if you make me buy this thing, I am going to tell my girls - Jo Anne made me!! I love all the details - the clothespins, washi tape, twine...just everything. I wish we lived closer to one another so I could come play at your house!
