Come to Class!
Wow Card Winner!

Botanical Blooms, I'm in Love!

Two of my downline had birthdays in December.  I just had to use the new Botanical Blooms, available on January 5th, for their cards.  This bundle is fantastic!  You get 3 items in the bundle, the stamp set Botanical Blooms, the framelit set Botanical Builders, and the Designer Series Paper Botanical Gardens.  In the bundle, they are all discounted 15%!  If that's not enough, there are several coordinating items in the Sale-a-Bration brochure.  Those items are available without cost with each $50 catalog purchase.  January 5th just can't get here soon enough.  So here is the card.

Lori's cardI started with a card base using Mint Macaron cardstock.  I cut a layer of Basic Black at 4 X 5 1/4.  Then I cut a layer of Whisper White card stock at 3 7/8 X 5 1/8.  That leaves a thin layer of the black showing.  I stamped on the white layer with the new Timeless Textures stamp set using Mint Macaron ink.  Timeless Textures is also a must have!  I cut a label using the Lots of Labels framelit set in black, using the second largest framelit.  I cut a white label using the 3rd largest framelit.  The leaves are cut from Mint Macaron and the Botanical Builder framelits and stamped in Mint Macaron ink from the Botanical Blooms set.  The flower is cut in Watermelon Wonder from the same framelits.  I did sponge on the flower a little with the Watermelon Wonder ink.  I adhered the leaves and flower with dimensionals.  I also used dimensionals under the black label.  Did you notice the shine?

I have to admit that the shine was an afterthought.  Cindy, you did not get the shine.  Lori, I had more time to look at your card and I know you like sparkle.  I used the new Wink of Stella.  The card was already put together, but I still painted on the shine with no problem.  It's really easy to use.  The birthday sentiment is from the new set Rose Wonder.  I'm sorry to say that the silver cording has retired, but try the Baker's Twine Combo Pack in the Occasions catalog.  The Mint Macaron looks great!

Here's a hint.  Cut the black label from the center of the black background piece.  The hole will be covered and no one will be the wiser.  You will save paper!  I hope Cindy and Lori enjoyed their cards. and had a happy birthday!  Thanks for reading.
