All Ye Faithful

When I see a stamp set with the nativity, I'm always tempted to get it.  After all, that's the reason for the season.  When I saw this frame for sale at a local box store, I instantly thought of the stamp set All Ye Faithful.  I wasn't sure that it would fit, but I decided to take a chance.  It worked perfectly.  What do you think?

Nativity #1

The images were stamped using the new archival black pad.  I did stamp them on individual squares so I could fit them where I wanted them in the frame.   The size would depend on the frame that you have.  I used the aqua painter to color in my images using Tip Top Taupe, Sahara Sand, Hello Honey, Marina Mist, and Mint Macaron.  The sentiment is from the stamp set Reason for the Season.  Perfect!

Nativity #2

The All Ye Faithful stamp set is on the Retiring List so you might want to order it while you can.  Do you need to see the Stampin' Up! Retiring List?  Go to Shop Now and click on the icon.  Stamp sets will be produced until December 28th.  Accessories are on a while supplies last basis.

Love a Card? Case it!

I love Pinterest!  Don't you?  Pinterest has a rich selection of cards using Stampin' Up! stamp sets, embellishments, framelits, dies, and designer series paper.  Well, the list could go on and on!  I found this card on Pinterest and copied it for a swap for the NC SU demo group.  I love this card!  I wish I could give credit, but I can't.  Sorry.

Wedding Christmas swap

A friend of my daughter is getting married right before Christmas.  She wants me to make some thank you cards to use for a few special people.  Her colors are black, gold, white, and tan.  She wants something with a winter theme.  I was trying to design a card for her his afternoon when I looked over and saw the card above.  Wait!  This card had all of the colors except tan.  So I have changed the background to crumb cake.  I've added some gold embossed snowflakes.  The trees and the snowflakes are from a set called Wonderland.  I embossed the Thanks sentiment with gold.  This sentiment comes from the stamp set in the Watercolor Wishes kit.  I changed the embellishments from the gold cording to a wooden snowflake from the Snowflake Elements and a bow using the linen thread.  Both cards are on a base on thick whisper white.

Wedding thank you

So which card do you like best?  I love them both!  The Dazzling Diamonds glitter just makes it!  Do you want to make this card?  You can order the supplies below.

Christmas Tree from Lighthearted Leaves

I had seen one of the leaves from the Lighthearted Leaves stamp set used as a Christmas tree and I wanted to try it for thank you notes for my customers.  I thought it would be a fast card.  It would have been if I wasn't in my typical hurry mode, and it wasn't 10:00 at night before I even began.  I made a critical mistake.  I'm sure none of you have done this.  I was using the center of the poinsettia stamp from Reason for the Season to stamp ornaments on my tree.  It looked great!  I stopped to survey the beauty, but I had gotten ink on the edge of my clear block.  There were spots on the outside of the tree.  Ugh!  OK,   Time to stop for the night.

So in the morning I decided to cover the mistake.  I stamped the tree again and cut it out with the ovals framelits.  I cut a larger oval from Mossy Meadow card stock.  This time I used candy dots for my ornaments.  I did not want to make the same mistake twice.

So which one do you like best?  Sometimes mistakes are a good thing.  Thank you notes are done!

Leave a comment and let me know which one you like best!  Thanks for reading today.  If you want one of these thank you notes, just order from me.  I'll send you one!

Snow Place Magnetic Board

I remember as a child playing with something called color forms.  It was like a magnetic board and you could dress up a little girl figure in all kinds of outfits.  Am I dating myself?  Yes, it's been a while.  Here's my version for today using the Snow Place stamp set and the Snow Friends Framelits Dies.

Magnetic board

I used the magnetic vent covers that you can find in the big box home stores.  They come 3 in a pack and are white on one side.  I stamped using StazOn ink.  Stampin' Up! only carries this ink in black so I had to visit another store that shall remain nameless.  StazOn is also not recommended for the photopolymer stamps, but I did wash them with soap and water when finished.  I must say that there was staining of the stamps.  For some reason my red color ran a little.  I tried blotting the pad with paper towels, but it did not seem to help.  After stamping, I cut the magnetic sheets using the framelits.  The magnetic board was ordered online from a school supply store.

I'm going to sell these at my booth at a local emporium, so I bagged my board and tied it with the 1/8 inch stripped ribbon in the Holiday catalog.  A tag was made using the Peaceful Pines stamp set and Perfect Pines Framelits Dies.

I'm hoping this will make a nice little gift for someone special.  I did include a warning about small pieces.  If you are in the Conover, NC area, be sure and stop by Shops on Main for this item and a lot more!

Sometimes We Are Just Busy

Sometimes we are just so busy, but we still want to remember others with a card.  I have a group of shut ins that get a card from me every month.  It means a lot to them.  I often hear that they keep every card and look at them from time to time.  Don't you just love it when someone says something like that to you!  It's a big reason why I do this.  Admit it.  It makes you happy to get a card in the mail!  Happy dance!  OK, back to busy.  Sometimes you need a fast card, but you don't want to give up the ahhhh factor.

Busy cards

I made this card using the Barnyard Babies stamp set from the Stampin' Up! annual catalog.  I used the Note Cards and Envelopes.  Now that's a bargain.  You get 20 cards and envelopes for $6.  The cards measure 5 X 3 1/2.  I used the 2-Way Glue Pen on the sheep and added Dazzling Diamonds.  That added a nice touch.  I have to admit that I have admired cards that had a frame drawn on them, but I had not tried it.  I used one of the Project Life Journaling Pens.  I used a ruler on this card, but that's not what I would recommend.  I think I would cut a pattern using the backing  card board in a pack of Designer Series Paper and trace around that.  I was just too busy to try that right now!  Try this card if you find you get too busy during the holidays.
