Cards - Birthday

Remarkable You and the New Blends

The Remarkable You stamp set is just perfect for the new Stampin' Blends!  Do you like to color?  You will now!  I suggest you try our new alcohol markers.  They are available to everyone!  Here's the card I made with this stamp set.

Lily from Remarkable You

I love this card.  We made this card for my November class.

Start with a card base of Pink Pirouette measuring 5 1/2 x 8 1/2.

The Whisper White layer is 3 3/4 x 5.  Run it through the Big Shot with the Garden Trellis embossing folder.  This folder is so pretty.

The banner is from the Merry Little Christmas Designer Series Paper.  It is 2 x 5.  Notch the end with the Triple Banner Punch.  There's just something about pink and black.

The sentiment banner measures 3/4 x 4 and is Whisper White.  Notch the end and add the words from the Happy Birthday, Gorgeous stamp set in Memento Black.

Stamp the lily flowers from Remarkable You on Whisper White.  I used three flowers, so it will need to be stamped 2 times.  Use the Memento Black ink for this since you'll be coloring with the Blends.  Use the light and dark Pink Pirouette markers and the dark Daffodil Delight marker.  Make sure that you color on top of scrap paper.  The color will bleed through to the back.  Color these in a way that pleases you.  I started by coloring the entire flower in the light pink and added in the places where I thought it should be a little darker.  Now go over all of the flower again blending in all the lines.  The stems here were colored in Always Artichoke Stampin' Write Marker, but you could also use the Old Olive Blends.  Fussy cut the flowers.  The one in the middle was glued to the card.  The other two were mounted on dimensionals.

The bow was made using the Basic Black Baker's Twine.

Color Fusers Blog Hop for November 2017

Welcome to the Color Fusers Blog Hop for November.

Image may contain: text

Today we fuse the colors Chocolate Chip, Tangerine Tango, Wild Wasabi, and Blushing Bride.  I must say these colors made me really think.  I'm not much of an orange and pink person.  After much thought, I went to the Beautiful Bouquet Bundle.  Flowers come in just about every color.  They are a great stand by.

Beautiful Bouquet Color Fusers November 2017

Even though I don't care for orange and pink, I think this card turned out well.

Start with a card base of Chocolate Chip.  This color has been ignored by me for a while.  It was time to pull it out.  The base measures 4 1/4 x 11 and scored at 5 1/2.

Make a rectangle of Chocolate Chip by cutting out 2 of the scalloped squares using the Layering Square Framelits.  Matching the scallops when overlapping just a little join the 2 squares together.  Cut a rectangle of Whisper White in fit inside.  Mine measured 1 3/4 x 3 1/2.  I imagine the size will vary according to the side of square used and the amount overlapped.

The Bouquet Bunch Framelits were used to cut the flowers and leaves.  The cluster of stems (1) and the leaf stems ( about 5) were cut from Wild Wasabi.  The smaller cluster of flowers (about 9 or 10) were cut from Blushing Bride.  The larger cluster of flowers (4) were cut from Tangerine Tango.  The other sprigs (6) were cut from Chocolate Chip.

I can't really tell you how to place these.  Just play around with it until you are happy and then start gluing them down.  I chose to have a few sprigs along the bottom also.

Tie a bow of Linen Thread.  I don't think that you can see it, but I did wind some of the thread around the stems before it was adhered to the card.  Add the bow with glue dots.

The tag is part of the framelit set.  For You is in the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set.  Stamp in Chocolate Chip.

After finishing, I felt that the card needed a little something else.  I added some of the dot clusters randomly in Chocolate Chip.

Here is the inside of the card.  The sentiment is also from Beautiful Bouquet.  Add a few more stems at the bottom.

This card looks a lot harder that it actually is to make.  The hard part is figuring out where you want to put each little part.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  Please like my business Facebook page here.  My Product List is below.  I would love to be your demonstrator if you don't already have one.  Click on a product to go to my store.

A Study in Black and White

Black and white are just so classic together.  I saw some samples of the stamp set Painted Harvest in black and white on Pinterest and wanted to try it.

Painted Harvest in black and white

So lovely!  I know it's black and white, but who wouldn't love getting this card for a birthday!

The card base is Thick Whisper White measuring 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and scored at 4 1/4.  There is another layer of Whisper White 4 x 5 1/4.  That's the layer that you stamp.

The larger less detailed flower is stamped in Smoky Slate.  The smaller more detailed flower is stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento ink.  The center of the flower is also stamped in black as well as the tiny dots.

Add leaves where needed.  Stamp the detailed leaves first in black and then add the solid leaf in Smoky Slate.

The checked black and white paper is from the Merry Little Christmas Designer Series Paper.  Cut a piece 1 1/4 x 5 1/4.

Do you see the gold ribbon?  It adds that special touch.  That's a new punch called the Decorative Ribbon Border Punch.  Punch from the Gold Foil Sheets.

Add the Shimmer Ribbon in Basic Black.  Then adhere that panel to the card front.

The label stamp is from the Labels to Love stamp set.  The sentiment is from Special Celebrations stamp set.  Punch out with the Everyday Label Punch.  Adhere with dimentsionals and add a bow in the black shimmer ribbon.

The final detail is a few of the Gold Faceted Gems.

Painted Harvest in B & W inside

The inside sentiment is also from Special Celebrations.  Add another flower, too.

Painted Harvest Black and White

We made this card in class last week.  I think everyone loved it.  Now I do have a customer who is a horticulturist.  She did mention that it was very hard to make a flower black and white, but she did it!

I'm so glad that you took a look at my card today.  Thanks so much.  My Product List is below if you need any supplies.  Just click on a product to go to my online store.  Follow me on Pinterest .

Happy Birthday, Jessie!

My lovely daughter Jessie had a birthday this week.  She is an art teacher at a North Carolina high school.  She is passionate about her students and her craft.  Her students are lucky to have her, but I think they know that.  Here's a picture of her at the Cheesecake Factory celebrating her birthday.

Jessie bday

I have to say it.  I love that girl!  Of course she gets a special handmade card just for her.  This year Jessie's cats were on the card!

Jessie's bday card

The new Cat Punch in the Holiday catalog was the inspiration for this card.  In fact, it's the reason I got that punch.

The card base is Always Artichoke measuring 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, scored and folded at 4 1/4.  The Whisper White layer is 4 x 5 1/4.  The Pear Pizzazz layer is 3 3/4 x 5.

The Pear Pizzazz layer is meant to represent the siding of part of Jessie's house.  Use the Pinewood Planks 3D Dynamic Textured Embossing Folder to give it that siding look.

The pot is stamped in Always Artichoke on Whisper White.  Use the Grown with Love stamp set and the Garden Grown Framelits.  You can buy these together for the 10% off bundle price.

The flowers and leaves are from the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set and the Bouquet Bunch Framelits.  Again, this is available in a bundle price.  The colors for the flowers are Soft Sky, Dapper Denim, Melon Mambo, Blushing Bride, and Whisper White.  The leaves are Always Artichoke.  Some of the flowers and leaves are glued and many are on dimensionals.

Jessie's bday up close

I did go ahead and place one of the cats a little behind the pot so that it appears to be peeking through the flowers.  Jessie's cats are shy.  I made one cat Smoky Slate and one Basic Gray.  The mambo bow is from the Bouquet Bunch Framelits.

I added a balloon in mambo using the Balloon Bouquet punch.  Add Linen Thread for the string.

The sentiment is from At Home with You.

Jessie's bday inside

This is the inside of the card.  The sentiment is from the Special Celebrations stamp set.  Flowers are stamped in Soft Sky and Dapper Denim.

So there you have it.  It's really hard to explain a card like this.  I think she liked it!

Thanks so much for taking the time to look at my blog today.  I do appreciate it!  My Product List is below.  If you need a demonstrator, I'm available!
