Welcome to the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge today. We are using the colors Powder Pink, Pool Party, and Night of Navy.
I was thinking about it being November already. Can you believe it? Suddenly my mind was transported to my days of teaching first grade. I began thinking about the activities we would be having in November. Thoughts of the place mats we would weave came to mind. And thus, the card for today.
This card begins with a Thick Whisper White card stock base. It measures 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and scored at 4 1/4.
The patterned papers are from the Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper Stack (Powder Pink) and the Naturally Eclectic Designer Series Paper (Pool Party). Cut strips that are 1/2 inch wide. The pink ones are about 6 inches long and the blue ones are about 4 inches long. Weave these pieces in an over and under pattern. I cut the ends in a diagonal pattern and used lots of glue dots to secure the ends. Adhere to the paper.
The Night of Navy branch is from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits. The navy bird is from the Birds & Blooms Thinlits Dies.
The heart, from Ribbon of Courage, is stamped in Powder Pink, dipped in Clear Embossing Powder, and heated. Cut out the heart with the Support Ribbon Frameits.
The word Courage, stamped in Night of Navy, is from the Ribbon of Courage stamp set. It's on a 1/2 inch piece of Whisper White and is notched on the end. Adhere with dimensionals.
The inside has a little more weaving. I just couldn't stop once I started. The sentiment is from Ribbon of Courage.
So, here's a little bird delivering his own little words of courage. So many of us face all kinds of difficulties. Well, we all do, don't we. Reach out and give someone a little comfort!
