I just love Thursdays. It's the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenges that I love. Today we have a sketch.
My mind went to Christmas for this sketch.
I've had my package of the Boxwood Wreaths just waiting for me to use them. I decided this project was it.
Start with a card base of Thick Whisper White measuring 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, scored at 4 1/4.
The Be Merry Designer Series Paper is also perfect for this project. This paper is in the annual catalog. The larger Garden Green piece is 3 x 3 3/4. The larger Cherry Cobbler piece is 2 1/2 x 3 3/4. The two smaller strips measure 1/2 x 5.
I decided that this would be a card that would be handed to the recipient instead of mailed. So I doubled the wreath to make it appear even fuller. I simply pulled one of the wreaths out to be just a little bigger than the first. So there is one wreath with another just outside of it. I actually left an opening at the top of the wreath where the bow was to go. These were attached to the paper with glue dots.
The Bow Builder Punch hasn't seen a lot of use lately so it was time to pull it out. Again, I used the Be Merry paper to make the bow. After the bow was in place, attached with a dimensional, I noticed that the wreath just did not seem complete. I sniped a little 1 1/2 inch piece of wreath from another one of those in the package and tucked it in above the bow. That looked so much better. The Merry Christmas is from the At Home with You stamp set. It's stamped in Cherry Cobber on a 1/2 inch strip of Whisper White.
For the inside, I used a sentiment from the Christmas Quilt stamp set. Put a 1/2 inch by 5 1/2 inch strip of designer paper across the bottom.
It's a great card. I must say to goes together quickly.
Thank you so much for visiting my blog today. I love it when you come! Please come see me again. I post every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. If you don't already have a demonstrator, I would love to be your demonstrator. Let me know how I can help.
