Welcome to the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge #474. Today we have a sketch for our challenge.
I may have taken a few liberties with the sketch on this one. I admit that I had a tough time with this one for some reason. You know how sometimes you feel like you have lost your mojo. I finally had this idea and I do like how it turned out.
I really just enlarged the circle and went from there with the sketch. It's only September, but who can not make a Christmas card or so when the new Holiday catalog is live!!!
The card base is Smoky Slate. These are not traditional Christmas colors, but it works. The base measures 5 1/2 x 8 1/2.
The medallion background circle is made using the new Embossing Paste and the Pattern Party Decorative Masks. Spread the paste on the mask. Hold this down with post it notes. As soon as the mask is lifted, add Dazzling Diamonds glitter. Don't forget to wash the paste supplies as soon as you finish!
The village is from the stamp set Night of Bethlehem. It will need to be cut out by hand. The sentiment is from the stamp set Christmas Pines. This was also cut out. The smaller size seemed to fit much better. Use the Basic Black Archival ink for this.
The label is stamped in black on Smoky Slate. Punch it out using the new Everyday Label punch. This stamp is in the Labels to Love stamp set.
Mary and Joseph were stamped in black on Whisper White. Cut them out with the Bethlehem Edgelit Dies. Adhere to the label with dimensionals. Top this off with the Mini Sequin Trim in silver and a bow of the 1/8 inch silver ribbon. Adhere those with glue dots.
The inside of the card uses the Night of Bethlehem stamp set.
It's a pretty card. It makes me think of a masculine Christmas in a way.
The Embossing Paste is so simple to use. I sure recommend it! Need supplies? Just go to my online store by clicking below! Thanks so much for visiting my blog!
